Excellent Corrosion Resistance

The simple truth is that salt can be highly corrosive to metal when exposure lasts for an extended period of time. So, the more you tow around it, the more you need to protect your trailer from it.

A rusted trailer jack welded to a trailer frame

The Z-Max zinc finish on this jack offers great corrosion protection, even with occasional use around saltwater, to help ensure that it doesn't end up looking like the one above. Rust-resistant coatings are graded according to a salt spray rating. Basically, this rating shows the amount of time it takes for a material to show signs of corrosion when exposed to pure, continuous salt spray. Traditional zinc plating typically begins to deteriorate after about 100 hours. Dacromet usually lasts for around 300 to 400 hours. Fulton's Z-Max finish lasts for 600 hours in the salt spray test - 30% longer than a standard powder coat finish.

The environment this test creates is much harsher than anything you'll ever experience in your journeys, but it provides a testament to how well this jack resists rust and corrosion.

How to Determine the Lift Capacity You Need in a Jack

A trailer jack lifts your trailer high enough at the tongue to allow you to couple it with your vehicle. Usually, your tongue weight is about 10-15% of your gross trailer weight (GTW). For example, a 10,000-lb trailer has a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs to 1,500 lbs. To raise the tongue of a trailer this size, you'd need a jack that can handle a static load of no less than 1,500 lbs. And, yes, it's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time fishing.

Jack seems to work well and the larger diameter caster helps with pushing the trailer around. I'm not a fan of the 2 bolts and backer strip to attach. While it works, it doesn't look clean. SO, I ordered up properly sized galvanized U-bolts from Sturdy built, which looks cleaner to me.

by:

Perfect fit as a replacement on my zieman snowmobile trailer. It was a weld on mount and you had the right part for me to bolt on to the existing mount, saving me alot of work. Easy install. Thanks

by:

I just replaced the existing boat jack on my coyote trailer with Fulton marine jack. Night and day difference. This is my second purchase through etrailer. Received the products ahead of schedule and no issues.

by:

Jack works well but note the minimum and maximum lift if your not replacing the same unit. I had to replace the tongue wheel also because this jack minimum lift was higher than the previous jack.

by:

Bought a new truck that had a lower hitch height. I could not flip up my current jack when my bass boat trailer was on the ball. I needed a jack that was up higher in the fully retracted position. This jack retracted 2 inches higher than my old jack. Plus I got the benefit of a large diameter wheel to roll the trailer tongue in my garage. The jack is definitely heavy duty. As always, etrailer had what I needed with fast shipping. I would not buy anything trailer related from any place else than etrailer.

Used the new jack numerous times over the last year. It worked perfectly. The new jack also allowed me to roll the trailer tongue sideways if my truck ball wasnt exactly lined up. Great jack.

by:

I didn't need a 1500 lb capacity jack, but it's a lot sturdier than the 1000 lb jack that just broke on my trailer. The internals seized up on the old one. This one has a grease zirc, so it will be easier to maintain. It also has a larger wheel for easier rolling on uneven ground.

by:

The trailer jack works great on my 80"X12' trailer. It has a grease fitting which is nice. Having the wheel is really nice.

by:

I purchased this jack to replace the Fulton 1000# rated jack on the trailer for my 22' boat. The 1000# jack was just a little to wobbly for comfort. This 1500# rated jack has a larger diameter cylinder and a bigger wheel and is much beefier in general. It was a direct replacement for my old jack and uses the same type of mounting bracket. Installation took me about an hour. The boat trailer is much more stable now when unhitched.

The service at eTrailer is awesome and they really instill confidence as a retailer. I will continue to look at their site first when internet shopping for trailer and other needs.

by:

Easy to install, looks and works great after 1 year. Wheel is a good size for making minor movements, as when hooking up. Jack handle comfortable to use.

by:

Replacing a 15+ year old Fulton and this one looks great as well! Service and delivery was perfect! Thank you!

by:

Very solidly built. Easy Installation

by:

I bought this jack to replace one on my camping trailer that was too light. I installed it today in less than a half hour. Fit perfectly and is much heavier duty than the old one which is exactly what I was looking for. Etrailer had a great selection so getting just the right one was easy. Service was excellent and was delivered on time. Great company to deal with.

Both products have worked out beautifully. Thanks for the follow up. E Trailer is a great company to deal with.

by:

We needed a jack that could allow for the trailer to easily move and then quickly move out of the way when it came to moving it. This jack fits that bill. It has a large wheel that moves easily in whatever direction and it does not appear to get hung up in gravel. I would definitely recommend buying this.

Still holds up great to our use and abuse!

by:

Solid. Much better better than oem jack on my tracker boat trailer. Now I can roll my boat around in my garage by hand.

by:

I bought this trailer jack because the existing jack on our trailer was a little flimsy. This jack is significantly stronger and resolved my concern. As always, etrailer shipping was fast. It took two days to receive the jack in Shady Shores, TX.

by:

Beautiful trailer jack. It was a breeze to install. It took me about 30 minutes. I recommend attaching the trailer to your tow vehicle to support the trailer while you remove the old jack and install the new one. That may be obvious to most people, but I used a separate hydraulic jack to lift and hold the trailer while I made the switch. The jack is installed on an EZ Loader boat trailer that carries an 18' North River fishing boat. The boat and trailer weigh in at around 3,000 lbs with fuel, gear, etc. I replaced a similar Fulton trailer jack rated at 1,000 lbs with a 10" lift that came with the trailer 17 years ago and is still working fine. My concern was the amount of manually pushing the trailer I now have to do with the smaller 6" wheel. I wanted a stronger jack with a bit more rise (new truck has a higher hitch ball) and with the larger wheel to make manually pushing a bit easier. The new trailer jack has a 2" tube that is stronger than the 1 1/2" tube on the jack I replaced. This Fulton FXP15L rated at 1,500 lbs and a 12" lift and 8" wheel is exactly what I needed.

The MaxxTow MaxxHaul trailer dolly was also a breeze to assemble. I did have one challenge in that the provided M12x60 bolt that connects the wheel assembly to the pivot would not fit through the the 1/2" hole provided in the pivot bracket. I needed a 7/16" x 2 1/2" bolt to assemble the dolly without drilling out the provided holes. This required a trip to the hardware store to obtain and complete the assembly. The dolly is designed well and of high quality. I'm glad I got the pneumatic tires and the dolly has the flexibility to be used as a towing arm on with an ATV or lawn tractor.

Purchasing from etrailer was a great resource to locate, review, and purchase the products I needed - lights, trailer dolly, trailer jack - shipping was fast (and free with my order). Order follow-up and customer service is excellent. Highly recommend checking eTrailer first before purchasing your trailer parts and accessories anywhere else. Excellent pricing, free and fast shipping - tough to beat that.

by:

The product is perfect for my trailer....gross weight boat and trailer about 3,500 lbs, and the big wheel, and low gear ratio jack makes every thing work perfect and effortlessly. Great improvement for my boat trailer!

by:

As always, etrailer comes through! Excellent jack, good quality, perfect fit, in fact it's the only jack I found that fit my trailer. 1 year of use in saltwater at still looks new, I expect many more years of service from this jack. Fast shipping and a fair price, what else could you ask for?

by:

My old jack on my Ranger Bass Boat had seen it's better days, This one is much heaver duty than my old one. The old one was 1,000lbs, the new one is 1,500lbs I am glad i went with this one. I started to get one form BPS but it sucked, and was the same price as this one, it's smooth, and looks great.

Still looks new and works like the day i purchased it. Best jack I have ever used and I have had several boats and trailers. Makes putting your trailer on and off the ball easy.

by:

One year out, works well. Easy to install. The plastic cap arrived cracked but they replaced it immediately.

Still works great after much abuse on an old, heavy farm trailer used on rough terrain for hauling heavy loads of rock, firewood, etc.

by:

This makes my life so much easier as I don't have to ask my wife to help push my 18' Hewes fishing boat while I hit the jack wheel with my big rubber hammer to get the soft rubber wheel to turn on concrete garage floor. I bought the trailer and boat used and the jack on it is cheap. Don't try to save money on this type of equipment!!! The wheel turns so easy when guiding the boat myself.

by:

Was hoping it wasn't made in China but what can ya do? Overall Quality is great. This is replacing a cheap amazon jack on my boat trailer. The whole boat and trailer is roughly 2500 lbs and mounts to the side of the Tonge as is typical on a boat trailer. The old jack flexed so much to the side under load that it finally gave out. This jack is night and day difference! Zero flex under load and the large polymer wheel rolls very nice on the pavement when I need it to.

by:

This is the second Jack assembly that I have purchased for another trailer I recently purchased. These work great on larger trailers given the high capacity and is the only swing away jack that has a 12" lift. I use these on my military trailers to replace the old manual jacks and they have the height and weight capacity to do the job.

The large wheel has held up well dragging over rocks and concrete over the years.

Pricing and customer service has been good from etrailer!

by:

The FXP15L was an excellent upgrade over an older 1,000 lb capacity jack for my 24 ft boat. It works effortlessly and was an easy installation. The older jack was becoming harder to crank despite plenty of grease. After reading other reviewers comments about how much better the 1,500 lb jack worked for them, I decided to try. I am glad I did and etrailer made it easy.

by:

This trailer jack was just what I needed. VERY easy to install and much stronger than the one that was original to the trailer. Very happy with this product and would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, the wheel used on Fulton's # F141133 jack is integrated and isn't replaceable. Swivel jacks that pivot upward into a stored position alongside the trailer frame typically won't have a removeable caster wheel, so a replacement caster wheel or a foot isn't available, I'm sorry to say.
