A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

The product seems good quality however the Shipping was not so good. The box that the Fulton Marine Jack came was ripped apart by the freight company during shipping. Not happy with the way it came in.

The hitch jack attached easily and now I can move my teardrop camper around with ease.

It works great allowing nw to easily move my small trailer around by hand.
This is a very sturdy trailer tongue jack that does its job well. The second most important feature isn't yet knowable, that being it's ability to resist corrosion in a saltwater setting, but the presence of a grease nipple fitting will make it easier to maintain.
I had ordered a trailer jack from another company. I needed it for my boat trailer. I called the company 3 days later to check on delivery date. I was told it was cancelled and I had been sent an email to the fact. I told them No one had told me and I was in a mess because of a fishing tournament this weekend. I was told they could not help. At this point I looked up Fulton Jacks and found etrailer.I had never heard of this company but decided to call them. I dialed the # and a "very nice" lady answered and wanted to know how she could help. I gave her my order and paid for 2 day delivery. She said she would take the order to shipping Dept. as soon as she hung up. In 2 days I had my jack-installed and on the water. I know who etrailer is and their Great Employee PAT Is and will tell my fishing buddies! It is hard to find a company and employee who give this great service! Thanks Pat for great service, tracking info and delivery on time. I am a happy camper and will think of you guys first next time.

Since knowing upfront from the beginning,that when I ordered my utility trailer,I wanted without a jack installed. I knew prior to this etrailers jacks,Jack's, quality of them,the excellent customer service,I knew my experience ordering was going to be awesome..In which it was..Was immediately informed my order was received, and tracking information to follow, with customer services telephone number..Received jack promptly, and in undamaged. Reviews don't lie,and peps,u can't go wrong dealing with etrailer. I 100% recommend.. off the front of my trailer,there is etrack single mounts,in which I have down both sides of my trailer,in which with etrack loop hooks,gives me extra tie off points.Cant never have enough security tie offs.Stay strong America.
Not only is the quality great,, but etrailer has enough description about the product, that I was sure it would fit when I got it.

I am entirely satisfied with my purchase! I can now maneuver my trailer around even with a full load prior to hitching up to my car. No more lifting!! I only wish that I had bought it 5 years sooner! Well worth the price.

Order product, had in 2 days. Pulled out of box and had it easily installed in about 10 minutes. Product was very heavy duty and a nice upgraded to an old weld-on jack that I had to cut off my boat. The bolt on was nice since I do not know how to weld and it seems very sturdy for a 24' pontoon trailer.
