A trailer jack lifts your trailer high enough at the tongue to allow you to couple it with your vehicle. Usually, your tongue weight is about 10-15% of your gross trailer weight (GTW). For example, a 10,000-lb trailer has a tongue weight of 1,000 lbs to 1,500 lbs. To raise the tongue of a trailer this size, you'd need a jack that can handle a static load of no less than 1,500 lbs. And, yes, it's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time fishing.

I received on Wednesday and installed on the trailer and was back uo and running!
First let me say that Customer Service at etrailer is outstanding. The first jack I tried was recommended for my trailer by a tech but it did not fit my trailer. Customer Service was quick to help me out by authorizing the return and recommending the MJ-1206B jack which arrived in two days. The jack fit fine but there’s some “play” between the mounting bracket and the swivel bracket, and the jack stood slightly off vertical once the weight of the tongue was on it. Unlike a stationary jack there would need to be some amount of play between the brackets so that the jack can easily swivel up and down, which it does and it rolls easily as well. A previous review described a similar condition so it appeared the bolt and space between the two brackets was likely preset correctly although the reviewer said he was able to tighten the bolt somewhat, which I was unable to do. I called customer service and was told there would be some play between the brackets and the jack should operate fine. I need to move the trailer by hand each time I use it so it will get a good test of its durability. Again, customer service is excellent at etrailer!

My MJ-1206B trailer jack continues to function properly after a year of use and makes moving my trailer easy.
Exactly what I needed. Bolted up to the old location with ease.
This jack is heavier duty than it looks. Much needed for my motorcycle trailer that didn't come with one. Install took ten minutes.

Trailer jack wwheel has worked excellent for the last year. I plan to get another one for our cargo trailer which has a post jack that doesnt retract or swivel and drags on low egress or speed bumps. Another one of these swivel wheel jacks will work just perfect. Thanks etrailer

Jack works fine after I made a slight mod to it. When change the position of the stand the level to hold the stand the the position you set, would slam in so tight, you needed a hammer to change it back. I took the level off and drilled a hold in the bend of the level and added a washer and cotter key. works great now. Friend of mine had the same problem, he just drilled the hole a little bigger. I tried to attach a couple picture to this email but not sure if it worked. If you didn't get them let me know and I will forward a email that I sent to myself that has them attached. hope you can understand what I'm trying to say. that's why only 3 stars.
Exactly what I ordered; replacing the original damaged jck on my trailer.
The swivel jack is fine, however, the wheel broke. I believe it was the plastic spoke of the wheel. I asked if they would replace it under warranty but they said it was out of warranty. I thought customer service could have been a bit more considerate as it was out of warranty by a month(?). Hoping I will not have any further issues at this time.
It's great to have a heavy duty Jack that makes moving my loaded utility trailer easy to move about. The purchase process was straight forward and smooth. Customer service at etrailer was great, too. The Jack easily mounted and works great.

I received trailer tongue jack MJ-1206B, and installed it on my new light-duty boat trailer loaded with my 300-lb partially completed boat, but the jack is not yet in full service. There were no instructions included with the delivered package. The online video was helpful, but not a satisfactory replacement for the lack of good written instructions. Thus it is unclear how to lubricate the internal mechanical assembly, and it is unclear whether the main pivot bolt can be/should be tightened to reduce lateral wobble in the loaded jack. Without instructions, some users may have trouble figuring out which of the several provided installation holes to use (at least one user did have this outcome).
In addition, during maneuvering of the trailer on my garage floor, I noticed the wheel was severely dragging, and upon examination I found plastic shavings on the floor. This was the result of the wheel sliding laterally along the pivot bolt (to the outside of the turn) and forcefully contacting the sharp corner of the wheel bracket, which then acted as a “shaver” on the edge of the wheel. The fix is simple: I’ll install spacer washers to prevent the wheel’s sliding, but the manufacturer should have provided such spacers. Due to this defect and the lack of instructions, I am rating this product with 3 stars.

The above fix installation of spacer washers on axle worked. After one year since purchase, the tongue jack has been performing well, without problems. The use has been only occasional since the trailered boat has just now been completed. Tongue weight is light, at about 75 lbs.
Haven’t got a chance to use yet. It’s a quality item that will fit our needs.
A nice, heavy dolly jack. Quality seemed very good. Search as I did, I still came up short one 3/8-16 nut so had to go to the store to get one. I found the main bearing bolt to be very loose. When I attempted to tighten it up it came to what felt like the end of the threads on the bolt and still allowed a bit more slop than I would have liked in the retracted/stowed position. I expect it will rattle in transit but probably get swamped out by all the racket usually associated with the ball/receiver connection.

Ive used this retractable dolly for over a year now and it is functioning well. Definitely performing as intended.
Jack was easy to install and even easier to use. I’m pleased with this product and haven’t had any issues yet. I installed it on my 10’ long utility trailer.
Needed a replacement jack for my boat trailer. Although I have ordered from etrailer before and have always found the quality to be very good, I was not expecting much for the price of this jack. Was very surprised when the jack arrived. Very well built! Solid construction. I expect this will be the last jack I need.

Overall a great product.Received less a few mounting parts, but the superior customer service kicked in and it all worked out. Great place for all your trailer needs. First place I go to get my goods.
Received the Jack quickly, was as described in the ad. Installation took 15 minutes and it works great!!

Jack has held up well, works very good.
Great trailer jack for the price. Sidewind handle is comfortable to grip and it spins very smoothly with little to no gear noise. The double bushing on the crank are a nice feature not found on many jacks in this price range. Easy installation on my PWC trailer. I have no complaints. Thanks again etrailer.com for a great product.
