The package was missing the shoulder bolts because the box was damaged in shipping. etrailer got me the bolts quickly. I am pleased with this order.
Easy install when you have the correct tools. Good drill bits are a must.

Works great and does what I want it to do.
Bought the hinge coupler to extend the length of my utility trailer so I can convert it into a kayak trailer. Works great! I especially love the way I can fold it and it fits in my garage.
The product was delivered on time. I have been using the hinge coupler for a year now. It was a perfect purchase for me. My fishing buddies want one now!
The fold-away coupler works flawlessly. It was the perfect solution for a too long trailer tongue. The installation was easy and all the necessary parts were included and instructions were clear and understandable. Highly recommend this problem solver to anyone who needs to gain room in any storage situation.
It was extremely easy to install on my 5x8 utility trailer after watching the installation video. My only suggestion is new or quality drill bits. I tried sneaking up on the hole with progressively larger bits but broke two in the process. I ended up using a high quality 1/2" bit. My install did not allow for placing the tongue jack behind the hinge because I wanted maximum swing so I installed the stabilizer jack that etrailer sells to support the trailer when the tongue is swung away. I can now store the trailer more easily in a smaller spot.
Unfortunately took months to get it from the time I ordered but once it arrived I liked it. Fairly easy to install and works great. Getting the nuts and a wrench inside the tube was a little tricky for the size of tube and nuts, no fault of seller/manuf just a reality of the small tube size. Held up so far to use.

After a year and use on a monthly basis its holding up great that I can tell. Very glad I made the mod as it has made it storing in my garage way smaller.
The installation went exactly as expected.
I have been using and enjoying this trailer tounge hinge for a year now with zero issues or concerns.
Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge bolted on square and easily. Holds the weight of my boat very well and allows the boat to be stowed in my garage now. I did notice that the coupler flexes a bit, but does not interfere with the overall towing of the trailer.
I'm very happy with how this item mounted and it's performance. Good quality from Fulton.

After one year, this product is still great. Cutting down some of the tongue from my DB trailer made it wobble from side to side at speeds of over 65 mph, but once I re-mounted my spare tire and went to the recommended 10-12 of total weight at tongue weight, problem solved. Again, I only had that problem because I removed a big section of the tongue to make it a proper folding tongue.
This hinge kit installation went on without any problems except the plastic bag that hardware came in had been opened. One torque bolt and one rubber bumper was missing. I contacted etrailer, they sent replacement items within 10 days. I completed the install in an hour of receiving parts.
I liked the customer service and love the hinge function.
This is a high-quality item that worked as advertised. Easy to install and works well
I just completed the installation of the Fulton Fold-away Coupler Hinge Kit on my Malone Megasport kayak trailer. The trailer and kayak racks were also purchased from etrailer. The trailer is great but it barely fit in my garage. My solution was to change out the crossbars from 86” to 78” and install the Fulton hinge kit. I was not fast but I have learned to measure twice and cut once. The installation was relatively easy and straightforward and the instructions easy to follow. I am glad I made the purchase!
Great product. Excellent seller. Installed on 2022 Continental GT1612 trailer, 38" cut. NOTE: As described in product description, it doesn't come with the extra safety chains or bolts.
This coupler did exactly what I needed it to. I have a 17ft Pro Angler kayak and the trailer was a bit too short. I wanted to mount a small winch to ease loading after a long day on the water, but just didn't have the room on the existing trailer tongue. I used the maximum length extension for my application (4ft) and could not be happier with the results. Installation was pretty simple... just make sure you have a good carbide bit to drill through your galvanized steel. I wasted a lot of time using an inferior 1/2 inch finishing bit which just burned up. I went to Home Depot and got a good carbide bit and it went through like butter... no issues. Just think about your wiring and all that ahead of time and make sure you have what you need. Great product so far.

Just completed installation of trailer tongue hinge and could not be more pleased with the result. This saved 3ft off orig trailer length and allows boat to now easily fit in the garage - just in time for winter. Installation went smoothly - the instructions and on-site vids were extremely helpful in avoiding issues. I'd caution anyone to take heed of the safety cautions - esp. eye protection - when cutting and drilling. Results were fantastic. Hinge is a high quality, solid product - extremely pleased. Item shipped and arrived early, customer service is first rate and I will def be ordering from etrailer again. Highly recommend.
I keep my boat in the garage which made for a tight fit to get into the house. I came across the Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit. - ordered it and installed it this weekend. The installation was much easier than I expected. Great communication from the folks at etrailer.com

The Fulton Folding tongue has held up well despite the abuse I have thrown at it. I use the trailer about twice a week and have dragged the tongue over rocks and threw deep mud. Rinse and repeat. The tongue has never needed any sort of adjustment after install. I have used the tongue as a seat, standing platform, lever point, workbench, and at times a small anvil. I have no problem recommending this product.
The directions were very good and easy to fallow. I got all the tools ready per the directions and quickly got each step done. The only thing I have left to do is lengthen and remount the safety chains.

Great product, follow the instructions and you will glide right through the installation process. Finally can park the boat inside, no more boat covers!
I feel I am the victim of false for. The on line ad under "Fulton Folding Trailer Tongue-FemHDPB230101" listed six items. The sixth item was the "36 inch Fold-Away Tongue". I purchased the kit
for a total of $XXX which included a "Shipping Ground"fee of $XXX. The kit arrived without the 36 inch tongue. The first person I spoke to (Kate)saw the same ad; expressed her sympathy but after consulting with her supervisor explained that the 36 inch tongue had been discontinued and the only alternative was to return all of the items and that I would be refunded. I then spoke to Samantha who tried to to say that the ad was replaced. I argued that even as we spoke, the ad was still present
and online. Samantha offered again to refund me but having already opened the box and breaking the plastic bags I just did not feel like returning the items and having to start all over again. I should point out that the 36 inch tongue was a major incentive plus what I thought would be free shipping or close as it was over $XX. Samantha did credit me $XX but it really wasn't close the what I spent having to purchase a tongue from another company for $XXX. etrailer.com made no effort to inform me that the 36 inch tongue had been discontinued. No credibility whatsoever.

I sincerely apologize for any confusion that the product description may have caused. It has since then been corrected. This kit allows a person to create a foldaway tongue up to 48 inches long however it does not come with a trailer tongue. The reason shipping was applied to the order was because it was shipped to Hawaii and we are only able to offer free shipping over 99 dollars to the lower 48 states.
Good communication and customer support people. The product is well-built and sound in every aspect. The assembly directions are clear and concise, and the inclusion of the center punch and torque bit tools was both a surprise and a great help. Overall, I will not hesitate to do business with your firm again, and highly recommend it for good quality products and customer satisfaction.

This folding hitch extension worked perfectly for what I needed. I needed the extra length to be able to launch my boat from shore without getting my truck tires stuck in the mud. Worked great.
