I originally bought these brakes a year ago. Recently I had an issue , I called and spoke with Madeline to explain the situation. She could not have been more helpful and understanding. My replacement parts arrived today and I am back in business. What a pleasant experience , I wish all my employees were as helpful and willing to do what the customer needs as Madeline was. Well done, thank you.

  • Are Kodiak 225 Brake Pads Interchangeable With the Kodiak 204 Brake Calipers?
According to Kodiak the 225 and 204 calipers and pads are not interchangeable. As they have discontinued the 204 calipers you will want to upgrade to the 225 Caliper # KDBC225DAC. This particular caliper is Dacromet coated for corrosion resistance. We also have a Stainless # KDBC225S if you will be using around salt water. These will use either the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CP and we also have them in Stainless # K225CPSS for better corrosion resistance as well to match with the...

  • Replacement Parts Available for Kodiak Disc Brake Kit K2R35D
Yes, replacement parts are available for Kodiak disc brake kit # K2R35D. For calipers you can use # KDBC225DAC for dacromet or # KDBC225S for stainless steel. Both come in quantities of 1 and are for 3,500 to 6,000 pound axle Kodiak disc brake kits. For brake pads you can use # K225CP for Kodiak disc brake kits for 3,500 to 6,000 pound axles. There is also a rebuild kit, # KDBC225KIT. For a rotor (this kit has rotors that fit over idler hubs) you can use # KR10D for dacromet or # KR10S...

  • Can Dot 5 Brake Fluid Be Used with Rebuilt Kodiak 225 Brake Calipers?
The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # KDBC225S and similar finishes will require the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for 3,500 lb to 6,000 lb Trailer Brakes # KDBC225KIT which will give you all the seals, bolts, bushings, and piston needed. Once rebuilt the system can use Dot 5 brake fluid but only after removing all previous fluid and flushing the system. Dot 5 is not compatible with Dot 3 or 4 so a complete flush or new parts are required. I also recommend...

  • How to Convert a Kodiak Over-the-Hub Brake Kit to a Stainless Kit for a 3,500 lb Axle
For a stainless steel caliper to match what you currently have you would want the part # KDBC225S. For the stainless rotor with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, part # KR10S. For the stainless mounting bracket part # KCMB10RS. All of these components have the same dimensions as your current setup so they would clear your 13 inch rim.

  • Recommended Spare Parts To Replace UFP Hubs With Rotors And Calipers
We don't have the UFP Brand, but I can give you some compatible parts. For your trailer hubs with rotor, I recommend the Kodiak 10" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # KHR10D. You will need grease seal # RG06-050 along with bearing # L68149 and # L44649. For your brakes, I recommend the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads w/Stainless Steel Backing Plate - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K225CPSS along with the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper - Stainless Steel - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs...

  • What Size Fittings Does Kodiak 225 Caliper Take
Sounds like you are trying to install the wrong brake line to the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper # KDBC225S that you mentioned. The fitting size needs to be 3/16 inch like what comes with the # 18TA-BLKIT. Since I don't know what brake lines you have now it's hard for me to verify that you have the right thing.

  • Replacement Caliper for Kodiak Disc Brakes With 10 Inch Rotor
It sounds like you are looking for a replacement caliper for your Kodiak Disc brakes with a 10" rotor like the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35S. I recommend the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX93FR for your 2005 Mastercraft Pro V 205 boat trailer. This weld-on disc brake actuator is for a 3" wide by 5" tall frame, and includes a electric reverse lockout. It latches to a 2" hitch ball and comes primed so you will be able to weld it onto your frame and paint to match the trailers frame. • Preventative Maintenance for Disc Brake Calipers in Salt Water to Prevent Piston From Sticking
The best maintenance you can do is to keep them rinsed like you are doing. Unfortunately there is nothing else that can be done to prevent them from sticking when it comes to salt water since they are carbon steel and a magnet for corrosion. According to Kodiak, the best thing you can do to prevent them from sticking is to get the stainless steel calipers like the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper - Stainless Steel - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # KDBC225S.

The 225 calipers are more prominent than the 204 calipers but they are not directly interchangeable. Typically having air in your brake lines will cause poor braking. • Will a Kodiak 250 Disc Brake Caliper Fit in Place of a Kodiak 225 Caliper
You should not have any problem fitting the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper, # KDBC250S, in place of the # KDBC225S. The major difference is the piston size (1/4 larger on the 250). The 225 is designed for 3,500 to 6,000 pound axles whereas the 250 is designed for 7,000 to 8,000 pound axles. If the actuator you are using is not rated high enough then it could have problem pushing the piston to apply the brakes.
