Video Transcript for Review of Valterra RV Sewer - Waste Valves - TC372

Today we're going to take a look at the Valtera waste valve body with the 72" long flexible cable extension for your RV black water tank. This is a replacement valve for your RV's black water tank. This will convert your hard to access valve handle to a nice simple push pull placement. The 3" diameter passage right here allows your waste water to travel freely when the valve is open. You can see that'll open the well and that'll close it. Your cable will attach right here to be able to open that valve. The 72" long flexible cable, this is what'll let you install your valve handle where you want it. Cable allows the valve to be placed in a nice secure location, or very easy to reach place.

This cable can be cut down to fit your application. The inner wire on this is constructed of stainless steel. This part will include everything laid out here on the table. The valve body itself, the flexible cable, the cable mounting bracket, the two seals, the nuts and bolts are all included to install it.Basically, to install this, you'll remove the broken waste valve on your RV and then what you'll do. And remove the old seals also. Then you'll take this and place the new valve body in place of that.

Include the new seals. One on each side just like that on the flange fittings. Then position your valve body where it needs be.Then once you get it all installed, and your handle where you want it, use all the hardware and tighten all the hardware down to complete your installation. But that should do it for the review on the Valtera waste valve body with the 72" flexible cable extension for your RV black water tank.

Worked perfectly, easy to instal

by:

Very quick delivery to Canada. Great communication. Will be installing it on the trailer in a few months. Looks like a quality valve. Exactly as described.

by:

Much easier than crawling under slides to dump tanks.we are seasonal so this was a weekly thing.

by:

As usual, exactly what I needed and decent delivery speed. Perfect fit for my 5th wheel.

by:

This was an easy way to fix a bad valve. Rather than replacing the whole valve, I was able to just replace the main pieces. Works great so far.

by:

Great product great service, will be coming back when needed

by:

The two Valterra TC372 waste valve kits arrived quickly and just as described. I will not be installing them until spring since I live in Michigan, need I say single digits and white stuff on the ground. The current valves work however are very hard to operate. I have another Valterra valve which works perfectly so I decided to upgrade the other two on the black & grey tanks that utilize cables. Thanks again Etrailer.

Perfect! Easy to install and used all season what an improvement!

by:

There is nothing more troubling than the black tank spilling every time you take the cap off of the sewer connection. The valve was not installed correctly from the manufacture, with the cable being too long and not supported.
The new valve was a Valera it came
With everything needed to replace the old one. One year later still working well.

Great still happy with my purchase

Thank you sir

The gate in the valve wasn't big enough. You can see light around it. There is no imaginable way it can stop liquid.

You mentioned that the gate was not big enough and I wanted to see if you have installed it? What did the original valve on your RV measure to?

by:

The item arrived on Saturday July 15. The unfortunate part is I ordered it around June 27, it took about a week for it to arrive at wherever they ship it from despite the notice that it was "in stock". Add another week to get here and I installed it the day it arrived. I was about to cancel the order on Monday the 10th and buy one locally when I got the notice it had actually shipped. A bit disappointed in the delays since I am going somewhere with the trailer next week. I would add pictures but who wants to see a black water tank with spider webs all over the place.
After reading the "Not appropriate for a review" list, "Details about ordering, shipping and pricing" makes this not appropriate, that's what you get when asked to write a review. Print it or not. In praise of the product, works great.

by:

Fast service repeat customer.

by:

I ordered a replacement dump valve with cable, for the black water tank on my rv. The valve arrived quickly, and in good condition. I have not yet installed it, but expect it to resolve the problem once installed.

Thanks!

by:

I used to have to stand on my head to open the sewer valve and this solved that problem. The cable is so long that you have to work with it a little to operate but, well worth it.

by:

Recieved product in 3 days which was great because dealers wanted twice the money. I was replacing a bristol valve body and cable that had failed. I had to cut the pipe coming into the flange to get the new valve body to fit in the gap. I went to the local hardware store and purchased a 3'' no hub coupler and cut about 1'' off the pipe. After I did that the instalation went really good. The people at etrailer said it would work and it did. the only difference between the bristol and the valterra is the cable but I needed to replace both anyway. It is working great and I would recomend etrailer to anyone

by:

Thanks ,works gooood

by:

Exact replacement for the two 3" gate valves on my 2015 Keystone High Country. Replacement was straight foward after a GOOD clean-out and GOOD drain. I replaced the cables because one had failed and the valves because they were getting very hard to operate. They also work so much better now since they are routed properly. Delivery was fast and accurate from etrailer with a reasonable price.

by:

Excellent service and short delivery time. Package was put in a shipping box that was wrapped so well to protect your item so no damage would occur. Easy to order . I would order items from etrailer again. Good service and reliable.

by:

I just received my order this afternoon. Very surprised at the speed with which it was delivered. I am in the process of rebuilding a older5th wheel and the items that were ordered are just perfect for the job.
Thank-you etrailer I will be back

by:

Had what I needed and arrived quickly.

by:

Quick shipping! The remote control allows me to open/close the waste tank's drain valve that is located on the side opposite of the motor home drain outlet.

by:

Great value, fast service.

We bought a trailer from a consignment place. It had sat for a few years. We didn’t check the tank valves. Both were so dry they could hardly be pulled or pushed shut. I bought some new valves and replaced them myself. It was a shitty job for sure. But my waste valves work better then new ones. A year later I’m still happy I bought them .

Just winterized my 5th wheel the waste valves still working like new. Again I’m very pleased

by:

I had to make a small modification to attach it to my rig, but it was easy and has worked great in the year since I installed it. It is the easiest pulling valve I have ever used and have never had any problems with it. I would buy another one if needed, I'm even considering getting one for the gray tank just to make it easier to pull.

by:

the valves i ordered with cable pull 72 in. fit and worked great no problem installing. makes life a little better not having to bend under slideout to open drains.

by:

Product was standard item purchased for routine replacement.
etrailer.com was one (if not the only one) who had the original equipment
replacement. Good service and quick delivery. Two thumbs up!!

  • What is Cable of Valterra Waste Body Valve Made From
The cable of the Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable for RV Black Water Tank - 72" # TC372 is made from steel wire and it has a protective coating as opposed to some type of rod. The cables are going to be similar from both manufacturers - steel wire with a coating - but you are correct that people seem to like the Valterra better. The reason they have to be the same type (wire and coating) is that it allows the cable to flex, giving people much better options for installation....

  • Will the Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable # TC372 Fit a 2014 Keystone Avalanche 361TG
The Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable # TC372 has a 3" diameter passage that is compatible with standard 3" sewage lines on RVs like your 2014 Keystone Avalanche 361TG. This part is a replacement so if you don't already have a Valterra waste valve system then you would need to install install something like the Valterra Bladex Waste Valve # T40B which has 3" hub connectors on either end. If you needed one end to have a hub and the other end a spigot then we also have part # T40...

  • How to Determine if Valterra Flexible Waste Valve Cable Kit # TC372 Will Fit an RV
Most likely the Valterra Flexible Cable Kit # TC372 you referenced will be what you need. This is a 3 inch diameter waste valve which is a very common size. The way this installs is very universal as well. The cable is 72 inches as well. Feel free to send me the picture of yours though as well as the diameter of the valve and I'll verify that it's the correct kit.

  • Replacement Cable Actuated Waste Valve Options For A 2011 Keystone Montana High Country 5th Wheel
Determining the correct replacement for your old waste valves is going to depend on the brand and length of your current cables. If you have Valterra branded valves you could reuse the cables you have and avoid rerouting new cables. You could simply pick the least costly option for the black # TC372 and gray # TC172 valves and just hang onto the new cables. You can remove the four bolts holding your old valves in place and then swap in the new valves so you can void having to cut or glue...

Unfortunately LaSalle Bristol completely covers the connection point in plastic so the only way to gain access to gate inside the LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve # 34466N4BB96GM would be to cut into the plastic for the cord and physically pull the gate up. You'll have to replace the gate valve once you're done draining the tank so I recommend going with a Valterra valve since they leave the connection point open for access. We have the following cable lengths for a 3" Valterra...

The Valterra EZ Valve Electric Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank - 3" Diameter # TC372 does not require any lubricating of the rubber seals. I do know that some people choose to add silicone plumbers grease to the seals because they believe it helps the seals to last longer, but it is not required and also is not included in the kit.

  • Will the Bolt Pattern on My Black Water Wastve Valve Matter When Choosing a Replacement
Typically it's not going to matter since the bolts are just used to hold the valve body together, so the bolts holding your current waste valve together won't matter. If you waned to use the LaSalle Bristol Cable-Actuated RV Waste Valve for Black Water Tank - Spigot to Hub - 48" Cable # 34466N4AB48GMA you'd just want to cut off your old waste valve and slide the LaSalle on; you'd want to secure it with some ABS Solvent # 3447530889, but going this direction it wouldn't matter what your...

  • What Size Cable-Actuated Waste Valves Are Recommended For A 2023 Entegra Odyssey 25R
There isn't a set length specified for the cables for a motorhome so it's really going to take a bit of planning and measuring to determine the correct length needed. You'll want to start where the valve is going to sit and then measure over to area where you want the valve handle to sit, keeping in mind anything the cable will have to work around to get to this location. You'll definitely need to straighten that line out otherwise you'll keep having issues with cable not wanting to fully close the gate.
