This cable-actuated RV waste tank valve has a 36" long cable, allowing you to easily open and close the valve even when it is positioned in a hard-to-reach location. Simply install the valve between your RV's sewer pipes and mount the handle on the end of the cable in a convenient, easy-to-access place.
When you're ready to dump your black-water tank, just pull the handle to open the valve. And when you're finished dumping, just push the handle back in to close the valve. No need to crawl under your RV to access the valve itself.
Before getting started on the installation, you'll want to empty your RV's black-water tank and flush out the sewer pipes. This will help to ensure that your working environment is as clean as possible.
This waste valve is designed to replace your existing valve, which should have a hub end and a spigot end. After removing the old valve and flanges, lightly coat the outside of the new valve's spigot and the inside of its hub with ABS solvent cement (sold separately). Do the same with the open ends of your RV's sewer pipe. Then, insert the smaller spigot end of the valve into your 3" pipe, and slide the larger hub end over the pipe on the opposite side.

In needing to replace the Black tank valve in my 2019 Grand Design Imagine, I contacted etrailer to order the part. They were so helpful in getting me the correct parts in excellent timing. I installed this cable valve in a 1999 Ford E350 ambulance camper conversion last year on the grey water tank drain. I often venture off-pavement and needed to mount the drain as high up as possible to keep it safe, but still wanted easy access to the dump valve. I'd never seen one of these before, but as soon as I saw it, I knew it was the solution! I mounted the pull handle inside one of the exterior storage storage compartments, so it is also well protected.

This is the OEM drop in replacement for my 2017 Grand Design Imagine 2600rb trailer. It comes with fittings to glue onto your pipes; I removed and discarded them; the flanges on the trailers piping exactly match this valve. I did find the screws that come with it are too short. They are 1/4 x 20 x 1.5" long. You need at least 2" screws and 2.25" would be best. I tried replacing this valve (due to me damaging it) with the Valterra valve (less $$) as I thought I could cut that cable to exact length thus making the pull smoother. That did not work out. I cannot get the allen set screw to hold the cable tight enough. So I am back to OEM as this cable does NOT separate from valve and the 36" cable is pretty much the exact length I need anyway. As a tip, replace this at same time as other valves so you can loosen all valves and it gives just enough slack in pipe to move out of the way and slide the new one in.

Has worked perfect for over a year now. Easy install. If for your black tank like mine was, flush your tank really well during dump and leave the valve open for a few days to let the tank dry.
