Add a bike carrier or cargo carrier with the dual hitch receiver.

by:

Perfect for my application.

by:

Everything was delivered fast and in perfect condition.

by:

Works great! I use it on my motorhome to carry my bikes with a Rocky Mounts Carrier and flat tow my car with my Blue Ox system. It places the bike carrier at an optimal height over the front of the car but my may be different for other bike carriers. Very sturdy and seems to be quality all around.

by:

Works great. We're towing a jeep and have a bike rack behind our motor home.

Great. Havent lost the bikes or jeep.

They have not remedied the problem of the rounded receiver. Just bought the 10” rise adapter, absolutely built tough as nails. However, the two have the duel hitch receiver adapter receivers are rolled corner 2” stock. Will not allow 2” square hitch to go inside. Very disappointed as other post stated that problem was resolved.

by:

Excellent workmanship and quality but a little overpriced but not bad definitely will be purchasing more roadmaster accessories

by:

Great quality. Used for lowering bike carrier that will be used for 2 electric bikes(55lbs each). Reordered same product in 6 inch drop. This should be perfect.

by:

I ordered this to adapt my bike rack to my hitch while I flat towed my car with a Blue Ox Aventa tow bar. I was concerned about turn radius and I stumped the etrailer customer service.
I ended up with about 18” of clearance and 47” from the adapter to car.
I feel it is sufficient.

by:

Wow, excellent customer service. Thank you Jennifer is rare in our world today to say that. Hitch adapter shipped same day on a late afternoon order. No extra effort; just the way this company refreshingly does business. Part arrived promptly and well packaged. No nicks or scratches on the part. Truly was well stored and handled at their warehouse. Following are some pictures of the hitch adapter installed.

by:

This specific double hitch is a must when using a Roadmaster 2 tow system and a bike rack. The hitch rases the bike rack up high enough to properly use the tow system.

by:

I just received hitch today. Pleasantly surprised that it actually arrived earlier than expected. It is every bit as described. Strong and sturdy. Cannot go wrong with Roadmaster. Can’t wait to hit the road. Thank you Natalie with etrailer.com. for your support and quick response.

by:

Shipped alot quicker than anticipated. Great fit for my application. Excellent service. Easy return of previous item. Thank you.

by:

Well made product. Still working great.

by:

Very impressed with the quality of the hitch. We purchased a new motor home and needed a different height hitch. Had trouble finding the size we needed until we checked trailer. Thank you for meeting our needs.

by:

Appropriately heavy for the job!

by:

Great product! We are able to Mount our bike rack on top and our tow bar in the bottom. Great service from etrailer.com

by:

I have purchased four front mount hitches from etrailer and quite satisfied with product quality, fit and ease of installation. I purchase the dual receiver adapter to accommodate a winch and be able to use a front tow ball without the extra effort of removing winch to use ball. As usual quality was not an issue with the adapter. The slider on the adapter was solid stock rather than thick wall box tubing lending to superior strength. Welds and engineering are, as always, exceptional. I highly recommend etrailer products.

by:

Great site. Easy to get around.

by:

I received this product in record time. This is a quality product that solved the problem of using both my bike rack and cargo carrier on the back of my RV. I will definitely be visiting etrailer.com for my future needs.

Glad you like the dual hitch adapter! The adapter has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the cargo carrier, whats carried on it, the bike rack and the bikes cannot weigh more than 400 lbs. This figure will be lower if the tongue weight capacity of your RV is less than 400 lbs.

by:

The hitch is heavy-duty and works as expected. We can mount a bicycle rack or an extra
luggage rack on the back of the RV and still pull our tow vehicle without any problems

The hitch adapter still works great! No problems at all.

by:

This was the perfect product to get the hitch height of my Class A gasser to the right level to tow a car flat behind it. I just used it this weekend and it has worked flawlessly. I forgot all about it, which i guess it what should happen with this type of equipment. etrailer is extremely helpful on the web page and the phone and I have used them for several purchases since getting my old Class C five years ago.

BTW, this thing is heavy! The receiver tongue is solid steel, not a tube. It has become a permanent fixture in the hitch.

by:

This hitch adapter works great! It allows me to use my bike rack with my cargo rack so we can haul our bikes along with all of our other stuff when we head out on our summer vacation. I also use it regularly as a hitch extender when I need to haul something in my truck with the tailgate down, and we want to take the bike rack. Only, drawback is it is pretty heavy duty (probably more than what I need), but if you are using it with a heavier trailer (e.g., camper or big boat), it probably should be that heavy duty.

by:

Purchased this to use on a 2016 Winnebago Adventurer 37F towing a 2013 Honda CR-V. Attached a Schwegman 2 bike rack on top with a Blue Ox towbar below. Works great, plenty of clearance between the bikes and the car. Only issue is the hole for the pin when attached to the RV could be a little larger. The blue ox locking pins are a tight fit

by:

This receiver is strong and with the anti-rattle stabilizer has been a great addition to our RV trips to add a bike rack and be able to tow a vehicle.

by:

Great product, I really love this thing! It made it possible to mount a winch to pull cars onto my trailer. Quality is great! Very solid welds.

I have used this hitch adapter for a Winch that I can use to pull cars up onto my trailer. AWSOME PRODUCT! It keeps re-inventing itself every time I use it.

by:

I bought this for our class A. We pull a small Fiat and needed a second receiver output to mount a ham radio antenna. This mount is rated at 10,000 lbs and exceeds the rating on our hitch which is what we needed. It works perfectly for our purposes. This is not the first hitch related component we have purchased from ETrailer. They offer quality goods.

  • Does Hitch Adapter Reduce Hitch Capacity By 50 Or Vehicle Capacity By 50?
There sure is! First you are correct that according to the owner's manual of your 2017 Subaru Forester you are limited to a 200lbs tongue weight. Since you have the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98839 installed on your 2017 Subaru Forester has a 525lb tongue weight rating you can use a dual hitch adapter # MT70070 which will reduce the tongue weight capacity by 50%, and not the capacity of your vehicle. This will still allow you...

For raising your hitch mounted cargo carrier on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-6 over the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544 due to the Roadmaster # RM-077-6 being about 1 inch taller. If you need even more rise you can use them Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-8. Keep in mind that the use of any trailer hitch adapter will reduce the tongue weight rating of your trailer hitch receiver by 50%. For towing a trailer I recommend...

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter and Cargo Carrier for Flat Towing/Carrying Bike Rack and Cargo Carrie
You can use a Dual Hitch Adapter like # RM-077-2 so you can simultaneously carry a cargo carrier/bike rack and flat tow. There are a couple things to keep in mind, though... Using an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half. Therefore, if the hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, using the adapter will reduce that capacity to 175 lbs. That's not a big deal for the flat towed vehicle, because flat towed vehicles are a rolling load that don't exert any...

The rack includes keyed alike hitch, cable and retaining hook locks for theft deterrence. The rack is designed for use on a motorhome, but SHOULD NOT be used on a towed camper or vehicle. That said, the only 3-bike carrier that will work is the Swagman Original - 3 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # S64152-2; this also comes in a 4-bike version # S64400.
