How to Flat Tow Vehicle and Transport Two e-Bikes Behind Motorhome

Question:

I plan on towing a Fiat 500 or a mini cooper behind my class c sprinter chassis rv. I also need to carry 2 e-bike with a combined weight of about 100 lbs. Any ideas on which equipment will accomplish this? I thought of just putting a tow hitch on the tow vehicle but they only accommodate 1 1/4 hitch and would be too low to the ground for the type of carrier that secures the bikes by the wheels.

The best way to flat tow your Fiat 500 or Mini Cooper and also transport your two e-bikes is with a Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter like # RM-077-6. This adapter is specifically designed for this application, providing you with a 2 inch receiver on the bottom for attaching a tow bar and an additional 2 inch receiver on top to attach a hitch-mounted accessory like a bike rack.

As long as the combined tongue weight of your vehicle and bike rack doesn't exceed the adapter's 400 pound limit this is a perfect solution. This particular model offers either a 2 inch drop or a 6 inch rise (depending on which way you insert it into the hitch receiver). It is also available in an 8 inch rise # RM-077-8 or 10 inch rise # RM-077-10.
