Add a bike carrier or cargo carrier with the dual hitch receiver.

by:

Worked out great for my family bike adventure. Traveled with that setup over 1000 miles and it was easy drive. I had cargo carrier on the bottom and bike rack on top, and with that setup and 4 people on board still plenty of ground clearance 11". Dual hitch is a solid piece of steel that can carry a lot of lbs. Just don't overload max. tong weight, need some room for safety!

by:

This adapter design was exactly what I was looking for. I often carry 4 or more bikes with my Sylvan GO. The pictures show how I configured my setup. Its perfect!!! And yes, I have to be a little careful on really tight turns but its never been an issue. Thank you George and the etrailer team.

by:

Great hitch. Exactly what it says in the description. Works perfect for my Blue ox tow bar and my 1UP bike rack.

by:

I use this for towing my TOAD and flipped up using the upper one for my E-bike rack. After 1 year, this dual receiver has worked flawlessly and is very strong. I would recommend it to anyone who needs something along this line. Lastly using a hitch clamp / anti wobble device will take any play out the receiver.

by:

This seems sturdy and fits, but it is a slightly loose fitting. A better design would enable you to tighten the fit.

If you are having issues with it sitting tight, you could always use an anti-rattle hitch lock, like part # RM-061 to reduce the loose fit.

by:

A very well built and sturdy hitch. Allows us to attach our flat tow car and bicycle rack on our motorhome.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to tow my Jeep Gladiator behind my class C

by:

Exactly what I needed to not only tow our Jeep, but also to put our Hollywood bike rack on. Great quality!

by:

This hitch adapter is just what I needed to carry bikes and flat tow my car. Etrailer is very helpful as carry what I need.

by:

It works great, it's what I need , Id like it better if it was cheaper.

Its nice and well worth the money, and works great for me

by:

Heavy duty, well made, and fits perfect.

by:

Built stout, fit perfectly. Suggest buying a locking hitch pin!

by:

Great product at a fair price . Customer rep was very helpful .

by:

We bought this hitch along with a bike rack. After a year of use we are still travelling across North America. Awesome product! Easy and totally easy to use.

Delivery was fast and efficient.

by:

As Expected. 2" drop aligned car tow bar. Hope to use 5" rise for bike rack in future.

by:

Does it's job well. Holds the bike rack for the ebikes and allows us to tow our Jeep behind the RV.

by:

Just what I needed for my tow and bikes.
Thank you.

by:

Exactly what i need.

by:

Works as designed, well built,

by:

It looks to be exactly what I need to raise my carrier up higher

by:

Really quick delivery. Hitch is very heavy duty. Just what I wanted.

by:

Solid product!! Fits perfectly and looks great :-D Puts my bike rack a nice distance over the tow arm. Nice to find one that is rated to 10,000 lbs even thought I'm towing 5,000.

by:

I wish the pin bore was not so far back. The instructions say a second hole can't be drilled to allow it to set closer to the vehicle. Will make it work as is I guess.

by:

Very well built, great finish too.

by:

This adapter is solid. Very well made.

  • Dual Hitch Adapter For Flat Towing A 2005 Mini Cooper While Carrying 2 E-Bikes
I recommend using the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 for your bike rack. This adapter will lower your tow bars by 2" which you will want to ensure still give you the +/- 3" height needed for the tow bars to safely operate. The other 2" receiver is raised 6" for the bike carrier. This lift will ensure that your tow bars have clearance from the bike rack or bikes depending on your carrier. The adapter is rated for a maximum tongue weight of 400lbs which you will be well...

  • Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter with 6 inch Drop for Flat Towing Vehicle and Carrying Bike Rack
Yes the Roadmaster dual hitch adapter part # RM-077-6 that has a 6 inch drop hitch opening as well as a higher one that you could use for your bike rack would work great for you. This adapter was designed for basically your exact situation where the lower hitch is used for the tow bar and the upper one for an accessory like a bike rack.

  • Will Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Work For Flat Towing & Carrying Scooter
Hey Brian; the answer is likely no, but it depends on the weight of the Vespa. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter with 2" or 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, so the weight of the Vespa and carrier, along with the tongue weight of your flat towed vehicle can only be 400 lbs. I assume the weight of those is going to be more than 400 lbs, but if it's not then you can use it; otherwise it would be too much weight.

  • Can Dual Hitch Adapter Be Used To Flat Tow Jeep and Carry Accessory In Upper Receiver?
As long as you are not exceeding the tongue weight rating of the trailer hitch receiver or dual hitch receiver adapter, you will not have any issues adding your 150lb accessory with the adapter as is, but I do not recommend modifying the adapter in any way as that will void the warranty of the adapter. If you cannot find the tongue weight rating of your adapter you would be better off replacing it with one like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 which has...

  • Can Recumbent Bike Rack be Used with Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter

  • Dual Hitch Adapter With 6 Inches of Drop For Bike Rack And Flat Towing
We have some options for you so you can flat tow and carry your bike rack, but it sounds like you are looking to use two adapters at the same time, which is not something that you can do. If you just need an adapter with two receivers and 6 inches of drop, that option is available from Roadmaster: - Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 This will allow you to connect your tow bar to the bottom receiver and your bike rack to the top receiver. • Hitch Extender with 4 to 6 inches of Rise to Carry a Bike Rack or Cargo Carrier
It sounds like you're looking for a hitch adapter that gives you 4 to 6 inches of rise to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier. We don't have a standard adapter with a rise but we do carry dual hitch adapter that have two receivers where one is used in the rise position. You don't have to use the other receiver opening if you don't need it. I recommend the Roadmaster, part # RM-077-6, because it has a 6 inch rise and is rated for up to 400 pounds of tongue weight. The Roadmaster adapter has a maximum tongue weight of 400 lbs. So, as long as you are not over 400 lbs of tongue weight the adapter won't have any problems.

I have a solution for you but we can't recommend using two hitch adapters at the same time due to how much added leverage and movement would be added.
