How do I Eliminate Sag with the GearSpace 34 on My 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 3500?
Question:
Hello. I have a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 and a hitch extender for my GearSpace 34. I've noticed that the carrier sags once I load my cargo. What can I do?

If you are experiencing sag on your 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 3500 with the GearSpace 34 # HGK826 or # HGK819 installed, there are two common issues associated with this: too much weight or not enough ground clearance on your hitch extender.
For the first issue, if you are using a compatible hitch receiver like the Draw-Tite # 75601 with a hitch extender like the Curt Hitch Extender # C45791, it is important to note that the use of an extender reduces the overall weight capacity to 50%. So, for the Draw-Tite Hitch, the maximum tongue weight will decrease to 250 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 2,500 pounds of maximum towing weight. It is important to abide by this reduced capacity because it is less than the 300 pound capacity of the GearSpace 34. If you have weight loaded than the reduced capacity of the hitch, I recommend trying to alleviate some of the weight by storing the cargo in the vehicle.
For the second issue, ground clearance, I recommend that you use a hitch adapter with a rise such as the Roadmaster # RM-077-8. With this adapter, if you use the tallest receiver tube, you will have an additional rise of 8 inches. It is important to note that you will also have a reduced 50% weight capacity on your hitch when using this adapter as well.
