Add a bike carrier or cargo carrier with this dual hitch receiver.

Beefy. I have no doubts of the capacity of either side of this hitch adapter, there's plenty of weld to hold it all together. Very few options will provide minimal drop (for an off-road trailer) and minimal rise on the other side for an additional bike rack or cargo carrier. Jeeps are tough since you need to be able to open the gate. This one clears no problem. My spare is up on a slant back carrier, but I think the stock spare should clear as well. Get you a "Trimax THC200 Universal Anti-Rattle Clamp Fits 2" Hitch" and this thing is solid as stone.

by:

The hitch has held up over Alaskan roads towing a jeep, but it does not sit level in the receiver so the tiny little bit that it sags is exaggerated when the tow bar is connected. Paint starting to peel with wear after a year.

by:

The hitch adapter is well built and has worked flawlessly. I actually use it with my Honda Pioneer 1000-5 during duck season and it allows me to use my folding cargo carrier on top and keep a ball receiver on the bottom for pulling trailers.

by:

Ordering was simple ;tracking was right on and hitch was delivered quickly! Excellent and quality made dual 2inch hitch I will definitely recommend this product!

by:

What’s Rocky the product work exactly how I was hoping it would. It held up by and gave me the drop by needed to tow my vehicle behind my RV so I’ve been very happy with it.

by:

I received the hitch quickly and it was exactly as show and described on the website.

by:

High quality piece. Welding very good. Quick shipping. I won't worry about equipment failure flat towing our F150 Ford pickup.

by:

This adapter does the job it is supposed to but,,,,,when using this on the motorhome, it would be better if it was a couple inches longer to get the attachment a little farther from the coach. Perhaps offering it in various lengths might be an idea. The fit is also a little bit sloppy and as a result the rack that goes into it bounces a bit and we therefore tie the bikes to the coach to stop the bounce

by:

Looks to be very strong and well built exept that the holes on the middle tube, which slide into your receiver, are not perfectly lined up. I had to wallow one side out a smidge to get the keeper through.Other than that, no problems.

by:

E-Trailer always delivers.

by:

Shipping was super easy and fast

by:

Gives enough clearance for attaching the bike rack and working with the Blue Ox. Perfect solution for using more than one receiver at a time.

by:

Perfect for my needs. I use the top hitch for a bike rack and the bottom for pulling my toad. I did need to get longer cables for my particular tow bar. You may not need to with yours. For now, I leave the receiver on the RV with the bike rack attached so I am ready to go should I need to pull my toad. I have so far driven over 3000 miles with out a problem.

by:

The product was well built, the receiver end was solid so the Anti-Rattle lock would not have worked as it requires hollow receiver. This is a 10,000 pound rated product. I intended to use to add my existing bike rack and Tow bar together, but the bike rack prevented the Tow bar from being added and so I had to send it back and get a different bike rack that fit on my Tow bar. I did keep one of the locks and added to my Alpha Tow bar for Anti-Rattle and Locking.

by:

As always, I can count on etrailer's exceptional customer service and fast delivery.

by:

The hitch adapter is well constructed... and we're testing it out this weekend. I may want to change to an adapter with a 4" drop... The 2" drop lets the bicycle carrier interfere with the Blue Ox tow bar... I'm thinking that using the 4" drop, and turning it upside down so that the bike carrier rides higher would give more space for the Blue Ox tow bar... Not your fault, will I be able to exchange the 2" drop adapter for a 4" drop adapter?

by:

Always great.

by:

Doesnt fit correctly with my trailer even though the rep said it would. dont bother trying the return it though, 100% satisfaction guarantee if bull. if you try mounting to your rig, it is no longer new. eTrailer sucks.

by:

Very fast shipping and great product

by:

Perfect for adding bike rack on top of Nighthawk tow hitch

by:

Adam was the person that helped with our orders. Definitely top notch service, order arrived as expected, and I will be working with e-trailer again. Good person to deal with.

by:

My hitch extension bent and I was in desperate need for a replacement. etrailer and Adam made the process a breeze. We found the correct part, it was shipped out that day and arrived right on schedule. The customer Service and follow up have been outstanding!

by:

Needed this to carry our bikes and tow our car on the back of our motor home.

by:

Received my RM o772order, did a dry fit with road master dual hitch receiver, every thing look great. .

by:

Solved my dilemma on how to use my back rack and small trailer at the same time. Sturdy!

  • Which Hollywood Bike Rack For Carrying 2 e-Bikes on Motorhome and Flat Towed Jeep
From what I read online, it appears that the Rad step thru e-bikes weigh around 65 lbs. The weight of your bikes alone would rule out the Hollywood Racks # HR1450Z you'd mentioned, as its capacity is 50 lbs per bike so we'll move on. The # HLY84FR Sport Rider SE has plenty of capacity at 80 lbs per bike, and could be used on your Jeep as well as on your motorhome without issue, but Hollywood Racks hasn't approved it for use on a flat towed vehicle, because the rack hasn't been tested...

  • Dual Receiver Hitch Adapter to Use Hitch Bike Rack and Tow Bar
I suggest the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 which will fit your 2-inch hitch and provide the dual receiver opening you need to use your hitch bike rack along with your tow bar. This item carries a flat towing capacity of 10K and a tongue weight rating (TW) of 400-lbs. You can lock it to your RV hitch with pin lock # e98880. If you need more rise/drop instead use similar Roadmaster part # RM-077-4 which has 4-inches of rise/drop.

  • Dual Hitch Adapter for Bike Rack While Dinghy Towing Cadillac SRX
There is such a product, the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars # RM-077-2, which is designed to do precisely what you are wanting to do. You will also need a hitch lock such as # e98880 to secure this adapter. Additionally, please keep in mind you will need to use a bike rack that is rated for use behind an RV due to the excessive bounce that occurs at the back of a long vehicle. I highly recommend checking out the Thule Doubletrack # TH92BJ for this as it has reinforced...

  • Availability of a Dual hitch Receiver to Carry a Hitch Mount Bike Rack and Tow a Trailer
There are actually adapters made that offer 2 receivers so you will not have to weld a bike rack to the top of the receiver. We have numerous options like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, # RM-077-2. Or, you could use Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210, which has a receiver on top and ball mount on the bottom. When using one of the above products remember that the top receiver cannot be used for towing and that the tongue weight includes the combined weight of everything...

  • Can I Use The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 With My Blue Ox Tow Bar
If your Blue Ox tow bar is an RV mounted tow bar, then part # RM-077-2 will work if your receiver is a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver. An RV mounted tow bar will have the shank to fit into one of the 2 inch by 2 inch openings of part # RM-077-2. If your Blue Ox tow bar is a vehicle mounted tow bar, then part # RM-077-2 will not work, as it will have a ball mount coupler on the end of the tow bar. As long as your Blue Ox tow bar is an RV mounted tow bar, as it would disconnect from the vehicle...

  • What is Tongue Weight Capacity of Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2
The 400 lb tongue weight capacity of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-2 that you referenced is the overall tongue weight capacity of all accessories installed in either hitch opening. So 400 lbs is limit whether you use one or both hitch openings. I don't understand what you mean by you are not sure if you'd need two different hitches so you might email me back and clarify what you mean by that.

  • Choosing Bike Rack to be Used While Towing a Camper
The Dual Hitch Receivers such as part # RM-077-2 cannot be used for towing a trailer. These receivers are meant for use with a towbar carrying a rolling load and an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. We offer a Curt Ball Mount with 2 inch Receiver, part # D210, which should work for your needs. This ball mount has a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs, so the trailers tongue weight and the weight of the bike carrier plus the weight of the bikes cannot exceed that figure. Another...

  • How To Carry Bikes While Flat-Towing a Chevy Sonic Sedan
Yes, I do have an option for you to carry bikes with your flat-tow setup. However, since there is not a trailer hitch for your vehicle yet and you don't want to use a trunk mount or roof rack bike rack then you will have no other option but to use a dual hitch adapter and place the bikes on a hitch mounted back rack between the tow vehicle and toad. For this, we have a few options for you depending on your rise/drop needs. In order to determine what your rise/drop needs are we will want...

There is a dual hitch receiver adapter that will work for what you are looking to do but there is not one with a 3/4 inch drop to make the lower receiver the same level as the height on your motorhome's hitch like you were wanting. That's okay because you only need to be within three inches from level to safely tow, and the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/4" Rise/Drop # RM-077-2 will have you 1-1/2 inches below level, which is well within the safe zone (see accompanying...

You could use a dual hitch adapter like the MaxxTow # MT70070, however doing so will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by half. You'll want to take a look at the ID sticker on your hitch, and find the tongue weight rating printed there. If the tongue weight of the fully loaded travel trailer plus the weight of the bikes and the rack they're carried on does not exceed half the listed hitch tongue weight, then you'd be safe to use an adapter like the # MT70070. • Dual Hitch Adapter for Towing a 2005 Jeep Wrangler and Carrying 2 Bikes on a Hitch
A dual hitch adapter, or almost any adapter for that matter, will reduce your tongue weight capacity, but not your towing weight. The Jeep is supporting its own weight, and not pushing down on the hitch, so it doesn't contribute anything to the tongue weight in this setup. You can use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver, part # RM-077-2 in this situation because there is no tongue weight to worry about, and this part's weight capacity is 4000 pounds, enough to pull your 2005 Jeep Wrangler....
