What Adapter To Raise Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier On a 2019 Toyota RAV4
Question:
The hitch mounted on my Rav4 is quite low, so when I have my cargo carrier attached it will bump going from downhill to uphill. I know when I try to attach a trailer I will also need a ball mount that raises the ball. I am wondering if there is something that could raise the hitch, like the ball mount, but a hitch sleeve that can be raised. Im guessing its something like Item # MPG544. Thanks.

For raising your hitch mounted cargo carrier on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-6 over the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544 due to the Roadmaster # RM-077-6 being about 1 inch taller. If you need even more rise you can use them Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-8.
Keep in mind that the use of any trailer hitch adapter will reduce the tongue weight rating of your trailer hitch receiver by 50%.
For towing a trailer I recommend a ball mount with the correct rise for your setup. I attached an article that shows you how to determine the correct rise/drop, and a link to our 2x2 ball mounts for you.
