EcoHitch Stealth Hitch 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the EcoHitch stealth hitch. This is going to be an adapter to go from your 2" receiver tube down to a 1 1/4" receiver tube. Now, the reason why you want this is because you already have some accessories at home, a bike rack, a cargo carrier, and you don't want to have to adapt those to your hitch. This is going to give you that tube you need to fit those accessories and be able to use them properly.It's going to come with the hardware to attach it to your stealth hitch.

Now this is going to work with one specific EcoHitch, and that's going to be part number, or the part number that fits the 2018 to 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf and also the Golf GTI models. Some of the other EcoHitches out there won't have the drop down or the removable tube like you see here, but for the Golf it does. That's why we're able to switch out from one to the other, have a little bit more versatility with that hitch on the back of our Volkswagen.Again, to install this you just put that up into the tube. It comes down, and then secure it with the included hardware. It's going to have a flat washer and lock washer.

You want to make sure that that lock washer is underneath the head of the bolt, and then look at the instructions to see the torque spec that they have for this bolt to make sure that everything's tightened down properly.This is still going to have all the same benefits as that original shank or that a receiver that you had with your EcoHitch. It's going to have that black powder coat finish, keeps it nice and rust-free for a long time. It's also going to have the same SAE J684 safety certification. So we should be good to go with that.As far as any other accessories that you'll need with this, you will need to get a 1/2" diameter hitch pin for this. It does not come with one.

The pin and clip that you use for the 2" adapter, that 2" hitch receiver, will not fit here. It's going to be a smaller diameter pin hole, so you'll need a 1/2" diameter pin to fit with that. If you want to get a hitch pin and clip, that's totally fine. We have a lot of those available here at etrailer.com, or you can also get a hitch pin and lock. I highly suggest getting the lock, since that will secure your items to your vehicle and you won't have to worry about anybody taking those out on the road.That's pretty much all there is to it for our EcoHitch stealth hitch adapter for a 2" receiver to 1 1/4 x 1 1/4.
