I received the Fulton XLT-two speed trailer winch today, I put it on and what a difference it made, I have a 2024 Express H20.The winch that came with it did not do well at all, I am so glad I seen this winch on line, what a big big difference, Gary

by:

The Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch makes taking the boat in and out of the water so much easier. The original winch on the trailer was a 1500 lb winch and just did not do the job. The Fulton winch is so much better that my 13 year old grandson can load the boat on the trailer. My neighbor was so impressed with the Fulton winch that he bought one for his boat trailer and is extremely happy with it. If you need a winch, go with the Fulton, you won't regret it.

The Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch is still doing its job after 1 year of use. Highly recommend it.

I ordered a lot of parts from you at etrailer, and am very pleased with everything that I ordered. I sent you some before and after pictures of the boat trailer I have been working on. Thanks for the FAST service and excellent parts.

by:

The only place I order trailer, boat and RV parts is from etrailer great service

by:

Nice winch, but you’ll need to get your own mounting hardware. 3 - 3/8” grade 5 or 8 bolts, nuts and washers.

by:

This was the best winch choice for the buck to be sure. My trailers bolt pattern didn't line up. No prob with drilling a new hole. So far it's working as designed and looks great to!

by:

Installed quickly and looks like it work very well.

by:

Biggest pain in the ass to operate and killed my shoulder every time I cranked the boat up. Already replaced it!!

by:

A larger unit than I have had in the past....EXCELLENT.... but some heavier. Nice finish !

by:

Would have given it a 5 but no 1/2 inch 13 thread nut to attach the handle was provided. I get that no mounting hardware was provided since that can vary by trailer size, but to ship the unit with a loose handle and no nut is stupid. I was able to reuse my mounting hardware from my old winch, but had to make a special trip to the hardware store to buy a 65 cents nut.

Thank you for letting us know. I will have customer service reach out to you shortly.

by:

Pretty straightforward. It’s a winch. It works very well, and pulls my rather heavy boat onto the trailer without too much huffing and puffing on my part. The gear release ( freespool) is simple and actually works.

by:

Received the Winch in a box with just some clear wrap to protect it.
cover was damaged and box was destroyed.
No packing in box to protect the winch.
Very poor shipping on your part.

by:

No hardware included
An adjustable handle
would be nice
Otherwise good solid winch

by:

Excellent winch. I am almost seventy years old and often fish alone. Launching boat was no big deal. Loading it back on the trailer , especially in mid summer when in the south the lakes get a little low on water, winching it back on the trailer was a chore.I put this winch on to see if it made it easier to winch boat onto trailer. I did have to make an adapter plate from steel to mount it, but no big deal. Works great. I can actually winch it up with one hand. Would highly recommend this. Should have done this when I was sixty.

by:

This product is outstanding and easy to use. It cranks beautifully and looks amazing!

by:

Thanks for fast response

by:

Prompt shipping and delivery. Excellent quality boat winch... should last a lot of years! Instructions for installation from Fulton the the XLT 2 speed winch could be better...need to address removal (which is not difficult once you study it a minute or two) of plastic "cover" to allow access of racket/wrench. Very pleased

by:

Just received it. I was told is came with all mounting hardware when I first called trying to find a 3200 lb that uses a strap. Received it and no hardware and no instructions with regard to trying to work around the outside case. Very difficult to get large fingers in to get bolts in and or hold on to start the nuts. Did however get it installed. Have not had a chance to use it at the water but appears it will work out.

by:

Very good replacement for the OEM unit that was on our trailer when we bought it. The two-speed option allows our Tri-toon to be moved easily after the boat is out of the water.
I would recommend this winch for anyone who has difficulty winching a boat with any single speed unit.

by:

The winch fit perfectly on my boat trailer and it easily pull my 4500lb boat onto the trailer. After one year of use it is still performing flawlessly.

by:

Easy to use and install. E-trailer support was fantastic. Needed to check bolt pattern before ordering. Product has protective plastic case on it. Makes is more cosmetically appealing.

by:

would have been 5 stars but due to lack of filler in the box the winch rolled around and broke off a piece of the removable cover. great upgrade for my 24 foot tritoon

by: 10/08/2021

Fulton winches are good looking and should do the job right. I will be mounting them soon for our boat and raft. Can't wait!

by:

Winch is heavy duty, the ten inch handle, makes loading my boat very easy. Very easy to move from one gear to the next.

by:

I purchased this winch to replace the much smaller one that came with my davit system on my boat.
I haven't used it yet but I anticipate a much easier time pulling up the jet ski. Its built very well and I have named it the beast !

  • How to Wire my Fulton Powered Winch on my Trailer
For a straight connection your can use the Deka Wire Crimp Connector part # DW05354 and double over your 10 gauge wire to make the crimp hold for you. We often do this when joining two sizes together. If it will be connected outside the trailer use heat shrink like the Deka Primary Wire Heat Shrinkable Tubing part # DW05402. If by Quick Connect your mean the Bulldog Winch Quick-Connect Set w/Dust Cover part # BDW20133 type these would work for you.

  • Would Fulton XLT Winch F142425 Work as Boat Trailer Winch for 4,000 lb Boat
The Fulton XLT winch part # F142425 that you referenced would handle pulling a 4,000 lb boat coming out of the water with ease. This is a 3,200 lb rate winch and generally speaking the ratio for boat applications is 2 to 1. So, the winch would be rated for up to 6,400 lb boat.

Our customers who have this winch all really like it so I know you will like it as well. The Dutton Lainson part # DL15440 is also a great winch that will work well and may be a better winch for the money. But the XLT is easier to change the direction of the winch and has a protective casing which is also pretty sleek...

  • Winch Recommendation for Four Winns 268 Vista Boat Trailer with Rollers
Generally when picking out a winch for a boat trailer the ratio is 2 to 1 meaning you would need a winch with roughly half the capacity as the weight of the boat. With good rollers and a short winching distance the ratio increases to 3 to 1, but with long winching distances and wooden bunks like what you currently have the ratio is 1 to 1. Since you mentioned needing a longer strap you probably are between needing the 2 to 1 ratio or the 3 to 1 ratio. The Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch...

  • Boat Trailer Winch Recommendation for a 1982 Sea Ray 22-1/2 Foot Boat
Sea Ray made a lot of boats in the 1982 model year. Models listed at 22 feet top out at just over 4,000 pounds. Since the trailer you are using has rollers you can go with a winch that is rated lower than the actual weight of the boat. However, going with a higher capacity winch will make it easier on the winch so it will last longer and easier on you when cranking in the boat. For marine applications I recommend a winch that either comes with a strap or that can be used with a strap....

  • Can Fulton XLT Winch F142425 Pull 6400-lb Boat on Roller Bunk Trailer
Since your Four Winns 268 Vista power boat is on a trailer equipped with roller bunks like # DL21741 you can use a winch rated for much less than the boat's actual 6400-lb weight. Fulton's 3200-lb-rated XLT winch model # FW142425 will work fine for you and have plenty of safety margin.

If you took the cover off of the Fulton XLT 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142425 you'd be able to get wrenches into the area needed for the mounting brackets. Worse case scenario you might have to drill out the threads of the winch plate but since you'd have to get a wrench into the same area to install the winch either way I don't think you'll have an issue.

  • Would a Fulton XLT Winch Install Where a Fulton F2 Winch Was Installed
Some of the XLT winches use slightly different bolt patterns, but the F2 winch part # FW32000101 that you had would allow you to use the Fulton XLT winch where the F2 was installed. The Fulton F2 winches and the Fulton XLT # F142425 that you referenced use an industry standard type bolt pattern that allows the winch to be basically installed on any trailer. The industry standard mounting pattern is basically a triangle-shaped bolt pattern. The two bolts at the bottom are 2-1/4 inches...

  • Determining Which Winch Works Best For Loading Crownline 235SS Weighing 5000lbs
I would be happy to recommend a winch compatible with your Crownline 235SS weighing in at 5000lbs. The rating of the winch needed will greatly depend on the style of bunks on your trailer. Generally the ratio for a winch is 2 to 1 but with roller bunks and a short winching distance this changes to 3 to 1, and if you have wooden bunks and a long winching distance the ratio changes to 1 to 1.
