When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.

Finished drum to disc brake conversion on my 1993 year model Bass Cat trailer. Installation went smoothly and the UFP-A60 Actuator replaced the obsolete Atwood Actuator. Shortened the outer member a bit and added a 1" flat bar to the bottom for welding of 4" channel trailer frame.

Fit was seemless to replace an old actuator with the impossible do get landed hitch latch. Changed brakes from drum to disk, and all new lines. What a difference in smoothness (and effectiveness) while braking. Electric lockout in reverse is also a nice feature. Just plusses all around. If you are replacing the same components be very patient with the bleeding process...it will take some time and a lot of pumping.

Exactly what I needed. Didn't require the outer housing, the insider mechanism slid in nicely as a replacement on my trailer. The etrailer videos for installation and bleeding were very helpful.

Delivery was very fast. Quality seems very good. Installation was super easy since my Shorelander swing tongue trailer has this standard hole pattern. I love how it looks and the extra foot of distance I get between the boat and my tow vehicle (so less chance of needing to get my feet wet or crawl through the SUV).

Product arrived quickly (as always, thanks etrailer!) bolted direct to my shorelandr trailer without issue. it did not come with the reservoir cover or the manual lockout which was expected given it was a full tongue assembly. Also did not come with the manual (and specifically the spare breakaway clips in case the emergency cord is pulled). Save old lockout and reservoir cap if replacing a busted tongue!

- Wheels On Braking Axle Sit Slightly Farther Out Than The Non Braking Axle. Is This Normal?It sounds like you are using a slip on rotor for your disc brake conversion. This will cause the wheels on the braking axle to sit slightly farther out than the wheels on the non-braking axle. This is due to the thickness of the rotor, which is is usually about 1/2"-3/4" or so. This is not going to be a cause for concern and there will not be any adverse effects. Some folks may use wheel spacers in this case, but we do not recommend doing that as they can be unsafe. You can go about towing...
