Longer stinger let me drop the tailgate on my Tacoma with trailer attached. Replaced a similar but shorter Curt hitch and both are very substantial and well made for the weight of my trailer.

With good information from the website it was easy to order a Curt 2"
Trailer Hitch, the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit w/ 4-Pole Connector and Circuit Tester - 119178KIT, Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches (3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 10-1/4" Long - 7,500 lbs - D-4), Curt Pin and Clip Hitch Receiver - C21500, Rubber Tube Cover for 2" Trailer Hitch Receivers - I-728,Review, and 2" hitch ball 40038. Parts were delivered earlier than the initial estimate. Self installation (on a sloped drive way) took just under 2 hour. The fit of parts was very good, instructions and on-line video's were very helpful. My Kia did not have the wire plug in option, but the splice connections in the wire kit were easy to install. Most of the parts are hidden from view when the ball mount is not used.

I have a custom made tow guard. The ball mount I have was too short to allow me to attach the tow guard to my new truck. I searched the web and found just what I needed at etrailer.com. It's the only site I found that carried the size I needed. The product fits my needs perfectly. I can now protect my boat from rocks and other road debris when towing. Thank you etrailer.com.

by:

surprised as part of the package sold the pin to secure the 2" ball mount was not included.

There are some ball mounts that do include the hitch pin and the ball with them, like kit # 989900. If you were not needing a ball and wanted to get a kit with just the pin and clip included with the ball mount, we do have part # 2923.

Just what I wanted!

by:

No problem.It works as expected.

by:

I purchased this unit to extend the trailer jack handle just far enough that I could open the tailgate on my truck with the trailer attached. It worked perfect. I tow a pop-up camper with 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Pricing was good and delivery was quick from etrailer. At first I tried to buy locally from auto parts store or camper store, but neither had in stock anything the right dimensions. The unit from etrailer is made in the USA, fit just right, and was better quality than what I saw locally.

by:

I have to back up a hill and around a corner with arthritis in my neck to park my boat. I installed a front trailer hitch on my suv and needed this longer shaft Ball Mount to keep the ball far enough away from my license plate and front bumber that I won't damage my vehicle. The unit fits the bill to a "T" and has already gotten compliments from others for its quality and stability. I look forward to fishing season so I can use it.

by:

I wanted a longer hitch sleeve to prevent back the trailer winch into the tailgate of my pickup and this works perfectly for that purpose. Price was great too! Thank you etrailer!

by:

I bought this ball mount to replace a shorter unit (8.5"-9") in order for the tailgate to clear the jack on one of my trailers when down. The first one that was delivered had a lot of damage to the powder coat finish due to rough shipping (UPS!). etrailer was very quick to send another out that arrived unscathed. Thanks again!

by:

Be aware that etrailer's guidelines for review prevent me from explaining my rating. I could give you the good and the bad, but not if I follow the company's guidelines which are slanted to control what potential customers can learn about the company's service.

by:

This is the 10th order I have made from etrailer.com, most of them with multiple items. I cannot say enough about what great experiences I have had with etrailer.com. The website is incredibly helpful, the search tools are great, and the specs, videos and other information are very helpful. The items always ship right away, and arrive well packaged and promptly - and for me they have to cross the border to Canada. I recommend this site to my friends with trailers and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a great experience - and who doesn’t!

by:

Top-notch product. Just completed a 1400 mile trip pulling a trailer with my Chevy Equinox and my etrailer hitch: issue free! That's the best

by:

Having searched and not finding what I wanted or perhaps not really knowing what I wanted, I called and talked to Cathy. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She checked and guided me to a longer shank which will give me a longer turning radius, as the tongue on my trailer is short and is a problem. The unit is a solid piece of equipment. I had a clevis pin from a 1 1/4" shank and thought I would use that and not order another and she advised me that the pin for a 2" shaft is larger and I needed a new one. She was so good and accommodating I even asked for her boss to commend her for her good work and pleasant personality. Jlw

by:

Fit my application perfectly - I wanted more space between the tow vehicle and trailer jack so that I could open my tailgate with the trailer attached. Gave me just enough clearance. Shipping was fast, service was great - thanks etrailers!!

by:

Well made heavy duty trailer hitch ball mount just what I needed
so the tailgate would clear the jack stand

by:

I have a Toyota Tacoma pulling an A-Liner Expedition. Used a Ball and Ball mount from Wal-Mart last year. I upgraded to this and heavier rated Ball, and we noticed an immediate difference.

E-Trailer staff, keep doing what you are doing. Your company and products have just earned a loyal customer. Thank You!!

by:

It is too large to slide into the 2" receiver. I may have to grind off some of the coating ti get it slide in and out easily. There was no pin with the hall mount so I will have to get one.

by:

I was throughly pleased with etrailers quick response and fast shipping. The ball mount I ordered was packaged well, and was good quality.I think I have found a good source for my towing-trailer needs.I'll admit there are not too many moving parts on a ball mount, but they got the job done and treated me right.

Big thank you too everybody at etrailer,

Billy Elkins

by:

Received quickly. Happy with unit. The extra length is helpful for backing the trailer into tight areas by keeping the trailer a little further from the truck bumper.

by:

WORKS GREAT TAILGATE NOW CLEARS TRAILER JACK

by:

Great fast service.
The new one I purchased
is a 10-1/4" long. My original was 8-1/2". I have a travel trailer and had a heck of a time turning with the 8-1/2". The new 10-1/4" made all the difference. I can turn the trailer without any issues. It has the same rating as my 8-1/2" also. Works great.

by:

Metal walls thick.
Weld between tubular
piece and plates substantial.

After 1 yr: No rust. Finish still good. Sticker has not faded.
Car parked outside in SC. This was left on about 25% of year.

by:

Perfect for my clamp on bike rack, C18013, on my V60. Gave me just enough area to mount it on.

by:

Just right for my new trailer.

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessory Options for 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350
According to Cequent Performance Products, the parent company of Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite, both the Draw-Tite # 75774 and the Hidden Hitch # 87636 will fit the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. However, the Hidden Hitch model is no longer being manufactured. Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite are sister companies, so both hitches would be identical in appearance. The crossbar-tube and the square receiver opening would be visible just under the rear bumper of the vehicle. The hitch would be an excellent...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Motorcycle Carrier on 2015 BMW X5 M
All the trailer hitches we offer for the 2015 BMW X5 would require that the rear bumper fascia be trimmed on the underside. I can understand not wanting to cut into the bumper fascia of your vehicle, but the good news is that the trimming is done on the underside of the fascia, and won't be visible from the rear of the vehicle, only from underneath. I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 75600 which has a 600 lb tongue weight capacity. Please note, the plastic push rivets...

Yes, the Curt Class III Hitch, part # 13407, will fit your 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac without removing the factory size spare tire. Spare tires larger than the factory size are not tested with trailer hitches so if your spare is larger than OEM it could prove to be a problem. I have included a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch for you to review. I also attached a photo of a similar hitch installed on a Sport Trac with OEM full size spare. • Fit of Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch on 2016 Ford Escape
The fit note you mention is actually referring to the Class II factory hitch. Certain hitches cannot be installed on vehicles that already have the factory hitch, but the Draw-Tite # 75758 would be an exception because it attaches to the inside of the frame members rather than the underside so the factory hitch wouldn't interfere. If you do not have the factory hitch, all the hitches we offer for the vehicle would be compatible. If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you might be interested...

Using LocTite is not required when installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 76034 on your 2011 Ford Explorer, but it would not be a bad idea to use some. I recommend using Loctite Blue Stick Threadlocker, part # LT37643, which you apply to the threads of the bolts. You want to make sure to use a torque wrench and torque down all bolts as specified in the instructions. With a few basic tools you will be able to install the hitch in your driveway. • 2 Inch Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2011 Toyota 4Runner Towing a 19 ft Boat Trailer
When measuring for the correct drop or rise in a ball mount, you will actually want to measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler. Most trailer couplers are only about 2 inches tall at the ball socket, so the measurement you have is likely around 17-3/4 inches. For this, you will want a ball mount with a 2 inch drop like the Brophy Ball Mount, # BM20.
