Shipping was a mess, lost the first one in the mail somewhere because no one thought a 50# hitch would punch through cardboard. It is working as expected, but does not seem to be a true 2" drop.

by:

Easy ordering, fast shipping and a quality product. I can't believe how much this Brophy Ball Mount Hitch weighs! Incredible.

by:

The original order for this mount busted out of the shipping box while in transit to me. I notified etrailer sending them a picture of the ripped-open box and they notified me that a replacememt would be send ASAP. I received the replacement mount in 7 days.

Works great and provides the extra clearance I need between the my trailer and truck bed.

by:

Great hitch. Just what I needed to get more turning radius. Thanks for your quick fast service.

by: 09/18/2023

Exactly what we needed to extend our hitch 4" and be able to open our tailgate with trailer attached. Excellent service. Received our hitch very quickly. Would definitely order again.

by:

Ball mount is awesome! Just what I needed, my aftermarket bumper has a long step that wont allow a normal hitch to work. It sits underneath the step, the only thing that would of work is a ball mount with more of a drop. Then my trailer would of dragged on the ground. I don't have a lift on my F150. I forgot to take some before photos but I have the after photos and its just awesome. Hope this helps!

by:

I was looking for an extended ballmount for my dually as a regualr size ballmount with a 2" drop would not clear my heavy duty bumper. I have a 6" drop but it is too low for my new car hauler trailer. After finding this Brophy ball mount, BH20, I ordered it right away. I was pleasantly surprised to receive it in only a few days. I expected to get it in about a week.
This ballmount is just as described. Solid, heavy-duty(10K lbs. with a 1K lb. tongue weight) and fits great. See my before and after pics. The extension is enough to clear my bumper while using a 2" drop. Thanks, etrailer!

by:

Great ball mount. Reached out the perfect distance for our big rear bumper, while keeping it to a class IV rating. Only used it a couple times but so far it's perfect for our needs and the quality doesn't appear to be cheap.
Thanks etrailer for quick shipment and excellent service.

by:

Just received the product and installed it (7/10). Ordered June 28th and it was in stock. Called Theresa -who was wonderful - and George T. said item was to be here July 6. The products are fine, the service was fine, but the delivery times changed 3 times. But, I would still recommend E-Trailer and the product.

by:

Heavy duty, good quality. I can’t say enough about your customer service. The first hitch that came had made a large hole in the box, the hitch fell out!(box was empty when delivered). I sent an email late Sunday night and I was ‘shocked’ to get a response later that same night! Another hitch was mailed that next morning.

Great prices very good customer service shipping is excellent I buy most my truck and r v parts here why look anywhere else

by:

Great mount, excellent quality and price, we ours to move a 34ft rigid inflatable boat on a dual axle trailer (GTW 8,500lbs) around South Florida. Never a problem and choice and service from etrailer couldn't be easier-thanks!

by:

Just what I needed!

by:

I’m very impressed with the customer service I received from etrailer. Issues related to loss of product during shipping were resolved in an extremely courteous and professional manner.

by:

Great customer service great products priced right.

by:

Rock-solid ball mount. Recommended, particularly if you pull something heavy that requires a 'beefy' setup.

by:

Just what I wanted. I've been using it to tow a 2 axle trailer weighing 10k. It has been perfect. Before this long ball mount I would get a small amount of deflection using a 10k rated hollow tube mount. With this one, even at the same 10k rating there is no deflection of the solid steel bar. I have a camper on the truck that fits in the bed with no over hang, I like to keep the custom trailer away from the camper Jack's when making tight turns. This is the best I've found.

Still using it and working good. No problems.

by:

Great well built product but for me the sticker that said made in America was the best thing about this purchase !

by:

this is heavy duty and perfect for my setup. I highly recommend this hitch.

Did not receive product in the package. Will need to have a replacement sent out.

We use a 2008 GMC Denali with a tandem axle 16 foot trailer built with extra one foot on the ball mount. When used with the BH20 reciver we can turn the truck all the way to the left or right with out any issues! Great for our lawn care business for getting in and out of our customers.

BH20 has worked out great for us to be able to make tight turns.also extended just enough that the tailgate will lower with out hitting the jack!

by:

I needed a longer receiver for my bass boats so that when turning on the boat ramp, the bass boat steps i boat would hit my bumber. The person how helped me took his time and found the products I needed. Everything was great heavy duty, perfect!!!!! Gone fishing

by:

The product is as advertised but dealing with etrailer was excellent. They picked my part and shipped immediately. 5 star service from them. Thanks Andrew

The product is solid and does the job .

by:

The receiver on our Kubota is kind of tucked up under the bed. With the shorter hitches, it is hard to get to quickly to pull the clevis and drop a feed trough. This is especially important when you have 100 hungry momma cows breathing down your neck looking for more grain. This solved the concern by getting the hitch out where I could quickly get to it.

by:

This ball mount has been very handy, we tow a enclosed trailer behind our Motorhome and with a shorter ball mount our trailer on tight turns would touch the back corners of the motorhome. But haven’t had that problem any more with this mount, the couple extra inches in length solved our problem. Plus with a weight rating of 10k lbs it has plenty of strength to handle our trailer being loaded up with all our toys (atv & side by side)

  • Will Using a Longer Ball Mount Put Too Much Stress on the Trailer Hitch on a 2006 Dodge Ram
The Brophy ball mount # BH20 is not too much longer than standard length ball mounts so the extra stress it would put on the trailer hitch would be minimal if at all. As long as the trailer hitch on your 2006 Dodge Ram has a tongue weight capacity to handle the trailer tongue weight and the 7500 pound gross trailer weight you will be good to go.

  • How Do You Measure A Hitch Ball Mount
Hitch ball mounts are typically measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. With this measurement you can compare that to your trailer hitch and know where the hitch ball will be located. For example, the Brophy Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 13-1/4" Long - 10,000 lbs, part # BH20, measures 13-1/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball mount. • Longer Ball Mount Recommendation With at Least 750 lb Tongue Weight Capacity
We most likely will have a solution for you, but hitch extenders end up cutting the capacity of a hitch by 50 percent. Your best solution would be to go with a longer ball mount to help give you that distance. For example, the Brophy ball mount part # BH20 measures 13-1/4 inches from the center of the ball hole to the center of the hitch pin hole and it has a 10,000 lb capacity with a 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity. A longer ball mount in a hitch like the Curt part # 13044 which is confirmed as a fit for your 2005 Jeep Liberty would be what you need. It sounds like you already have a hitch though so for a ball mount the # BH20 has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the hitch pin hole out to the ball mount hole so it would be a great option. • Can Curt Frame Mount RV Trailer Hitch be Attached to Welded-On Extensions on a Trailer Frame
Welded on extensions are generally not the best place to attach a trailer hitch to a trailer, so I do not recommend it. What I recommend is to have a hitch welded on to the actual frame, but that depends on how much free space there might be at the bottom of the frame, if any. If the frame width, measured from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other is 44 inches or less you can look at # 41990. • Will I have to Reduce the Weight Capacity on My Receiver If using an Extended Ball Mount?
Using a ball mount like the Brophy # BH20 that is 13-1/4" long compared to a more standard Curt # D-4 that is 10-1/4" long, will not reduce the maximum tongue weight allowed on your receiver. It is important to be sure to not exceed the weight ratings on either your receiver, the ball mount or the hitch ball. • Recommendation For Hitch Extender or Longer Ball Mount To Tow Trailer With Dodge Ram 3500
I would recommend to use a longer ball mount instead of a hitch extender. When using a hitch extender the tongue weight capacity is reduced by 50 percent, so a hitch that has a 600-lb tongue weight capacity will be reduced to 300 lbs. If you have a 2 inch hitch on your Dodge 3500 truck and use a longer ball mount like the Brophy Ball Mount, part # BJ20, it will not reduce the tongue weight capacity and it measures 13-1/4 inches from the center of hitch pin hole to center of hitch ball...

For that reason I don't recommend using any type of supplemental extension that the ball mount would then fit into.
