Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

We are very pleased with the quality of the tires & ordering items from etrailer

by:

I really like these tires. They hold their pressure very well, I have to adjust based on temperature otherwise I don't need to add air often. We've only put around 2000 miles on them thus far, but they look brand new on the tread yet. I use a tire pressure monitor and I notice that they don't seem to have as much of an increase in pressure while driving when compared to the ones I took off, I think this means they run a little cooler.

by:

Mounting went well and they handled well on the road.

by:

Tires were delivered earlier than projected and were a good replacement tire.

by:

I was not aware the original nylon ply tires on my teardrop camping trailer were speed-rated at only 65 mph. Had a blowout. Did research and bought 3 Radial tires from etrailer.com...2 polyester ply with 2 steel belt ply and speed-rated at 81 mph. Radial Trailer-only tires run cooler than rigid wall tires. I had my local Firestone shop mount and balance all 3 tires (single axle and spare.) Smoothed out the tow a lot. Highly recommend etrailer.com. Ask for Ashley E. Very professional and helpful customer service.

by:

Great looking tire and just what I need to replace the worn original tires.

by:

I really like these tires. They ride real good, and my axle on my trailer has slight offset so my tires wear uneven. But these tires ran all last year, and I just rotated them. I should get another year or 2 out of them. I keep them pumped up to 50 lbs like ya'll said, and it works great.

by:

Customer service was knowledgeable and friendly. Tires were received quickly and packaged very well. To date, have had no issues with these tires. Would highly recommend etrailer to anyone contemplating trailer tire purchases.

by:

Great tires, they are holding up really well for my landscaping trailer. Good value to for the tire itself.

by:

Works great for my 19' Jetcraft and single axle trailer
Road ready now

by:

This is the tires I have on my trailer and I hit a piece of scrap metal that cut the tire but it did not blow it went down slower and I could stay in control and get off the road.

by:

As always etrailer comes through! Thanks so much for the prompt shipping and you always have what we need!

by:

Fast delivery and perfect for. Better than OEM tires.

by:

Took forever to deliver

by:

This is a wonderful tire, I highly recommend this brand. I received it quite quickly in the mail

by:

Matched great with a previous tire purc hase.

  • Replacement 205/75-14 Trailer Tire Recommendation for 2003 Fisher 165 Avenger Sport on Boat Trailer
That will depend on the weight of your boat and trailer but most likely if a Load Range C worked just fine you would not need to go with a D. In that size 205/75-14 my favorite tire to recommend is the part #TR20514 as it is a radial tire in a Load Range C and has an 81 mph speed rating where most trailer tires are only rated for 65. This tire has a capacity of 1,760 lbs at 50 psi.

  • Recommended ST205/75R14 Tires for 2018 Forest River Trailer
When looking at replacement tires for your 2018 Forest River Trailer, you will want to make sure that they will provide you with a combined load capacity that matches or, ideally, exceeds the possible loaded weight of the trailer. You will also want to choose a set that gives you an appropriate speed rating for the speeds you are wanting to travel on the highway. To upgrade the tires on your trailer, I recommend taking a look at the Taskmaster ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TR20514....

  • Trailer Tire Spare Recommendation for Size 205/75-14
The tire size of 215/75-14 is going to be .4 of an inch taller than the size you have of 205/75-14. In an emergency situation you'd be fine limping home with this setup but I would immediately swap to the correct size or if at all possible go to the correct size now with a tire like the # TR20514 which would work well.

  • Possible Causes of Uneven Tire Wear on Triple Axle Boat Trailer
I would have that center torsion axle checked, to make sure nothing's been bent. As for wear on the inside and outside of the tires, you'll want to check the tires for proper inflation. Trailer tires should be kept inflated to the max pressure listed on the tire sidewall. Over inflated tires will show premature wear on the center of the tread, while under inflation will cause wear on the inner and outer edges of the tires. The center axle tires would me more susceptible to wear because...

  • Recommended 205/75R14 with 0.5 Offset Wheel and Radial Tire for Spare
We have a couple options for you but the wheel and tire will be separate. You can choose from the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel with Offset - 14" x 5-1/2" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - White # AM20334 or black # AM20304. Then you will use the Americana Rubber, Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20903. For your tire, I recommend the Taskmaster ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TR20514. It is rated for up to 1,760 lbs at 50 psi and speeds up to 81 mph. I've attached an article to help with...

  • How to Pick the Correct Tire Size for Trailer
We can help you choose new tires, though their size is not determined by your trailer size. To get the correct tire you need to know the diameter of your wheel. I have attached a link to our page with our selection of tires, so once you measure your wheel you can find the tires that fit. The load range of a tire will be the capacity you need, and you can choose between bias tires, which are better for off-road or agricultural applications, or radial tires, which are better for highway driving.

  • Trailer Tires to Replace Size 195/75-14 Sized Tires
The closest size we have to a 195/75-14 is 205/75-14. It's about 3/4 of an inch larger in diameter and a 1/4 inch wider. You'll need to make sure you still have at least 3 to 4 inches between the tire and trailer's fender as well as 1 to 2 inches from the tire's sidewall to the inside of the wheel well. If you have the clearance I recommend using the Taskmaster # TR20514 as replacements. These are load range C tires with a maximum load of 1,760 pounds when inflated to 50 psi. Trailer...

The Kenda # AM1ST86 ST205/75-14 load range D tire you mentioned is rated for a maximum of 65 mph. If you're looking for a higher speed rating, and a C load range tire (1760 lb/tire) would work for you, I'd recommend the Taskmaster # TR20514 radial which has an 81 mph speed rating. If you absolutely needed a D rated tire, you could go with a 215/75-14 radial tire that's only about an inch wider and 1/2 an inch taller like the Taskmaster # TTWTRTM2157514D which also has an 81 mph rating. • Can a Trailer Tire Rated for 65 Miles Per Hour be Run at 70 Miles Per Hour
Going 5 miles over 65 is not going to damage a tire if you are within the capacity of the tire and it is inflated to the max psi rating on the tire. I still would recommend keeping it at or below the speed rating though to avoid any potential issues down the road. With that said there are some tires that are rated over 65 miles per hour. For replacement tires for your 2012 Grey Wolf Camper, I recommend the Taskmaster ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # TR20514. This is a radial tire that will actually provide an upgrade over your existing bias tires. Radial tires flex more and run cooler than bias ply tires because of how they are constructed. They will generally last longer and provide better traction, stability and tread wear. The Taskmaster has a load range C with a 1,760 pound capacity at 50 psi and a maximum speed...

  • Can I Use A ST205/75R14 For A Spare Tire On Trailer With ST205/75D14 Tires
Since you are not replacing all of your tires, I do not recommend to use a ST205/75R14 to use as a spare because it is not a good idea to mix radial and bias ply tires. The D in your existing tire size means it's a bias tire and the R stands for radial. Mixing radial tires with bias tires could result in uneven tire wear because they radials are more flexible. I recommend using Americana ST205/75D14 part # AM1ST52 to use as a spare if your tires are a load range C. This Taskmaster tire...

  • Selecting New Trailer Tires for Tandem Axle Travel Trailer with GVWR of 6400-lbs

Or is it mostly on local roads or off-road? How fast do you typically drive...65-mph or as fast as the other guys? The reason these things matter is that they can guide your choice of trailer tire. • Can Bias Ply Tires ST205/75D14 Be Replaced With Radial Tires on RV Trailer?
For your ST205/75D14 tires, you can absolutely upgrade to radial tires for your RV trailer. Radial tires will be better for highway driving with the cords running at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel as opposed to the 32 degree angle of bias ply tires. This will help them to run cooler under load and will give you better ground contact for traction, stability, and tread wear. I recommend keeping the same size tire diameter and width, but the load range can also change. ...

  • Radial or Bias Ply Tire Recommendation for Trailer with 205/75R14 Tires
Yes, radial tires are much preferred over bias ply tires for a number of reasons. The main difference between a radial ply and a bias ply tire is how the tire is constructed. The cords inside a bias ply tire run at a 32 degree angle to the direction of travel, and the cords on a radial tire run at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel, or across the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability,...

It is not a good idea to mix tire construction types on a trailer. What you have now are bias ply tires and the ones you are looking to upgrade to would be radial tires. The different types can lead to uneven tire wear, tracking problems, poor ride quality, and excessive heat build-up for only some of the tires. Ideally you would change all of the tires at the same time. For an inexpensive radial trailer tire in size ST205/75R14 you can use # TR20514. It is rated for 1,760 pounds at 50...

  • Can You Upgrade from Load Range C to Load Range D 205/75-14 Tires On a Trailer
It's not acceptable to mix the load range of trailer tires on a trailer. It's also not really advised to upgrade the load range rating either as this will force you to increase pressure which will result in a rougher ride. The thing most people don't understand is that the total weight capacity of the trailer tires won't equal the GVWR of the trailer because there is still going to be 10-15% of the weight from the trailer carried on the vehicle via the tongue. I understand how you could think the tires are not rated high enough as many do but what is failed to be realized here is that the tire's capacity won't exceed the total weight of the trailer.
