Replacement grease seals. Double-lip design helps keep water out and grease in.

by:

etrailer has the best customer service and online order process. I ordered these seals for my travel trailer, trusting that the website information that said they would fit my trailer was correct. I got an email the day after I ordered them (I ordered in the evening) stating to the effect of thanking me for the repeat business and letting me know that the seals had been shipped. In that email, it said I would receive them NLT the next Wednesday, I was a little bummed because I wanted to install them this weekend, but what ever. Much to my surprise they showed up in the mail this morning, 5 days early. Woohoo! They were the exact replacement for my trailer, part number matched etc. After they showed in the mail today, I got an email from Carol C telling me the showed that they had been delivered, and politely asking if I would do this review. I think that that type of customer engagement in todays world is a rarity. Keep up the great work George J. and Carol C. You and your great product at a reasonable price are what make me think of etrailer.com any time I need trailer or towing products.

These double lip seals keep the dust and water out of the bearings. I repack my boat trailer bearings with red-n-tacky grease every other year and replace the bearing seals. I have never been left at the side of the road.

by:

No one in town had these and I had no good reference numbers off of the old seal - etrailer's customer service reps helped me match up a new seal based on my axle make and bearing size and these are a perfect fit.

Thanks for taking the time to follow up with me. Ive only put a few hundred miles of use on the trailer but everything is working great. Ive actually recommended etrailer to my father, a friend of mine and anyone at work who would listen made easier by the fact that I had everything I ordered shipped to my job instead of home. Barring an emergency situation that requires an immediate solution you have my business in the future.

by:

No issues, works fine. Be sure to liberally grease between seal lips and keep everything clean. Important that buyers tighten axle nut properly for long life, as well as making sure bearings are properly lubed with quality grease. I also balanced the trailer wheels, as an out-of-balance wheel will shorten bearing life.

by:

Exactly as described. I used e-trailer’s grease seal guide and based on their guide, the seals were a perfect fit for my 2023 Jayco 264bh.

by:

They work great, never worry about water getting past them, I repack boat trailer bearings every year and always buy these seals from etrailer

by:

Received the grease seals quicker than promised. And undamaged. Thank you very much. I will continue to use etrailer.com.

by:

Navigating the website is easy, the store selection is thorough and the shipping was extremely efficient. This site will be my go-to for trailer supplies.

by:

They were shipped in the same box as springs. Half of them are bent from the springs. What the heck etrailer

You are right. I would be unhappy too. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

Nice quality. Used on a 5th Wheel RV.

by:

Very nice double lip seals….at least as nice or better than the original Dexter seals…AND for w WAY better price.

Super fast shipping, too!

by:

Like others say great seal, good selection, fast delivery. I was a bit surprised at the E-Trailer packaging. I ordered 12 seals for 3 different SIZE trailers and all 12 were in ONE BAG. So some seals are VERY CLOSE in size to each other, like 2.33 x1.50 vs a 1.68. Needless to say you have to be a McGiver to be doing your own seals anyway, but I had to "Mike" each one and look for numbers on each & seperate for boat or Dune Buggy Trailers. Thats another thing, Taiwan & China ? And the numbers on these new seals are different than the standard Dexter Transcom National or NOK. Good thing my old seals had those numbers, these dont. Keep good NOTES ! Good Luck next owner if I sell.

by:

I have always been satisfied with the help I get from etrailer! Very professional

by:

Exact replacement, quality seems good.

by:

these are the best seals for replacing and packing wheel bearing, they fit tight and allow no water to get in. The grease seals fit tight and allow no water to get in. And you cant beat the price. I always have a extra set on hand

by:

Awesome service.

parts!

by:

Just replaced after 11,000 tough (Alaska, Yukon…) miles. These seals held up well.

by:

Well made the they are quite beefy

by:

No issues. Seals worked perfectly

by:

Great information on your website to help with determining the right part for your trailer. The parts shipped quickly and had them installed on my trailer in no time. The parts are an exact match for my 2017 Grand Design trailer. They work perfectly and I will be using etrailer when I need to replace or upgrade my brakes in the future.

by:

Part fit as described!

by:

My son and I purchased an older tandem axle trailer so we could move a tractor we had also purchased. The trailer brakes were disconnected and inoperative, a couple of the hubs had moisture inside. We ordered new brakes bearing seals and bearings and rebuilt both axles. We received all the parts the next day, I don't know how they did it but they did.
We then loaded the tractor and all of the 3 point attachments and drove 450 miles without a problem.

by:

Website is easy to use, search filters are accurate and function well.
Order and shipping information is quick and detailed.
etrailer is my 'Go To' site for parts.

by:

Worked great and easy to install.

by:

The seals from e trailer were an exact fit. Worked out extremely well since my original seals were discontinued by the company. This was a real lifesaver.

  • Grease Seal Recommendation for Trailer Hub that Has Outer Diameter of 2.565 and Inner 1.75
The closest seal we have to the dimensions you need is the part # RG06-050. This seal has an outer diameter of 2.565 inch like what you need and an inner diameter of 1.719 which is very close to yours. Since the inner diameter of the seal is rubber it can be somewhat difficult to get an exact dimension. Your best option would be to measure the outer diameter of the spindle you have on your trailer to see if 1.71 inch would fit it well. If it is 1.75 it would not be a fit.

  • Replacement Grease Seals for 1993 Jayco 1406 Pop-Up Camper Trailer
Trailer manufacturers, even the best of them, are not known for consistency in the parts they use on their trailers. A manufacturer may use alternate bearings and seals even within a particular production run. You might be able to get the seal number from Jayco by providing them with the VIN (vehicle identification number) from your trailer, although this is likely a long shot too. Better options are to find the part number from the original seal (sometimes tough unless you can get them...

  • Replacement Grease Seal for a Transcom Part 171255VB
The Transcom Grease Seal part 171255VB is a single lip grease seal with a 1.719" inner and 2.565" outer diameter. For replacement, I recommend using the Grease Seal part # RG06-050 which is a double lip grease seal that also has a 1.719" inner and 2.565" outer diameter. A double lip grease seal can be used in place of a single lip grease seal and they are actually much better on keeping the grease in and the water/dirt out.

  • My New Grease Seal Depth Is Different From The Depth Of The Original Grease Seal, Is This Okay?
It would appear the the new seal SKR 17144 is a single lip seal and the Grease Seal # RG06-050 that you originally had is a double lip seal. That is the only difference that I can find on the seals. The double lip is better at keeping dirt and water out and the clean grease in. You will have a little play between the grease seal and the inner bearing on the hub, without it the bearings could cause damage to the grease seal. Once you slide the hub onto the spindle the grease seal will...

  • Should Trailer Hub Grease Seal Be Greased

  • What is Difference between Double and Single Lip Seal
The difference between the single lip and double lip seals is that the double lip grease seal will have two rubber lips that are in contact with the spindle. The double lip grease seals are usually used in marine applications to give a better seal and protect the bearings from the water, which can cause damage to them. The best way to determine what grease seals are needed for your spindle is to get the part numbers from the inner and outer bearings from that spindle. If you have the bearing...

  • How to Pick Out Grease Seal for Trailer Hub
While I wasn't able to find the seal number you mentioned I do have a solution that will allow you to pick out the correct replacement. To pick out a replacement grease seal you will need to measure the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides with a digital or dial caliper and then need to measure the hub bore where the current seal rides. With those two dimensions we can pick out the correct seal that you would need. I attached a link to a page that has all of the grease...

The Grease Seal # RG06-050 is indeed the correct replacement for the Dexter 010-019-00. As far as the quality differences go between the 2 products we don't really have any apples to apples comparison information explaining the differences. We can look at the over 600+ reviews that give them a 4.8 out of 5 star rating. Many reviewers do attest to switching to them from Dexter seals and being happier. And there are many reviewers who came back after 1 year and still gave the product 5 stars.

  • Replacement Seal Recommendation for Dexter 010-004-00
We have the exact seal you would need. For a pair you would want the part # RG06-050. This is a double lip seal that would work great for you. Double lip seals aren't only for EZ lube spindles. They are just basically a better sealing design than single lips seals and are a good idea for all hubs. Typically it's marine applications that have to have them since they do a better job keep water out but we still recommend them for everyone as there is basically no down side to using them.

For a new seal you would want the # RG06-050 that you referenced. We see this problem a lot with the Bearing Buddies. People end up putting too much grease in their hubs and it blows out the seal.
