Possible Causes of Uneven Tire Wear on Triple Axle Boat Trailer

Question:

brand new triple axel boat trailer After 1200 miles mostly interstate I have heavy wear on the inside of my Middle tires / I also have irregular wear on the fron and rear inside and outside wear .......... Boat is probably 7500 pounds - the axels are torsion axels - 14 inch bias ply tires ............ Does that sound like something is already bent ?

I would have that center torsion axle checked, to make sure nothing's been bent. As for wear on the inside and outside of the tires, you'll want to check the tires for proper inflation. Trailer tires should be kept inflated to the max pressure listed on the tire sidewall. Over inflated tires will show premature wear on the center of the tread, while under inflation will cause wear on the inner and outer edges of the tires. The center axle tires would me more susceptible to wear because of scrubbing during sharp turns, especially if the tires aren't correctly inflated.

You'll also want to ensure that the combined load rating of the tires you choose exceed the total weight of your boat and trailer. For instance, the # AM3S440 tires you referenced would have a combined load rating of 10560 lbs, which would be sufficient for the weight of the boat and trailer. I'd recommend you go with a radial tire that does a better job of shedding heat. I recommend the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20352 and then the Provider ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # TR20514.
