Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires
Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

We could not be happier with this purchase and transaction. The prices were quite reasonable, for this market & product, and the free-shipping saved us nearly $200. They got here faster than expected at 10 days, each tire & rim assembly were boxed separately and arrived undamaged - see pictures. I will now have to have them balanced, as I see no balancing weights on the rims, which was expected. We also ordered a spare, which was to be delivered late, but it arrived with the shipment too. All I can say is Wow!!! Despite my better judgment, I had initially purchased trailer tires from another source online last week. They were delivered with no protection and all 3 were damaged from shipping and had to be thrown away. They were also 4 year old date codes!!! I decided to look at etrailer as I had bought items from them in the past. My tires arrived in three days and each one was perfect condition and in separate boxes. Also the date codes are only a few months old so these tires are as fresh as I can get. Thank you for saving the day!!!

First of all, you had the tire we were looking for. I looked at least 20 other places (locally and online). I did contact one local national tire store and they said they could order the tire and I would have it the next day. Two weeks later, I am still waiting for their phone call. I did pay extra for the 4 to 6 day delivery and got it in 3 days. It is perfect. Was notified by email that it ordered, shipped and delivered.

'ST' or Special Trailer tires are manufactured differently from tires for passenger vehicles. The tire sidewalls will be thicker and can typically handle heavier loads and higher pressures. Therefore, we don't recommend using LT tires on a trailer. For a ST215/75R-14 tire in a load range C, I'd recommend part # AM10229. For a higher D load range tire, go with the Taskmaster # TTWTRTM2157514D, which provides a 2200 lb capacity at 65 psi....
