Bolster-and-swivel-bracket assemblies are typically mounted upright on a boat trailer's crossmembers. They allow a mounted bunk board, which runs from the front of the trailer to the back, to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes. On kayak trailers, these brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame and support bunk boards that run across the trailer.

Galvanized Steel

Steel parts are galvanized by being hot-dipped in zinc after they have been stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

New bunk risers are in as is the new bunk and carpet. The reminder here is to check the bolts securing the bunks. The bunks came loose out at the Colorado river north of Yuma so had to jimmy rig the boat to the trailer on the way home to San Diego. Oh, and it was well over 100 degrees on the way home. No bueno! Everything good to go now.

Still going strong!

Bought a used trailer that did not match my boat's hull. Ordered this hardware and new 6' bunks, cut off original "fixed" mounts and bunks and installed these adjustable ones. Carefully lifting a 4500# boat and working under it and the trailer and other than some parts hard to reach, job went as planned.
I am happy with the results.
I have always been happy with all my experiences with etrailer.
Thx

Product worked as expected and could not be happier.

They have worked well for my application. I added a center toon to my boat. Needed a good way to support it on the trailer.

It works as it should. I bought a different trailer and it transfered to it like it was made for it.

by:

Three of the four brackets work great. One continues to slide down which allows the boat to rest on the fender. I've retorqued the bolts 3x and it still slides. down. Otherwise, great.

by:

Bought several parts from eTrailer to complete this restoration and transformation of a 1958 trailer to suit my needs today. Couldn't have done it in only 4 days without the help from this great company with quality products!

by:

Turned a driftboat trailer into a driftboat/raft/pontoon boat trailer in less than 30 minutes! easy to take off and on and no welding required.

by:

I like your products and have built a few interesting trailers from them. This one is for an inflatable catamaran from Dux Boats, and I have the whole boat resting in bunks such that the pontoons are suspended and do not touch anything. I built another one which allows you to carry a hobie 16 and a laser on the same trailer, and independently take them off.

Keep up the good work!

I was originally looking for material, glue and staples to re upholster the bunks on my boat trailer. I found new bunks complete and ready to go on your web site. I came to my senses and bought them. To make the job easier and nicer I also bought new bolster swivel brackets. It was much easier to set the new bunks next to the old
ones and mount the new hardware. You have two great products, I would highly recommend both.

by:

I had been looking for these locally and hadn't been able to find them, so i was very happy to find a complete set at such a good price! And they arrived at the early side of on time and they are very well made and exactly what I needed. I will be using etrailer again in the future, Thanks again and Good Job!

The bunk brackets I bought are working out great! In hind sight I do wish I had bought the U bolt set for them at the same time but otherwise theyve been a good purchase!

by:

Strong, heavily plated and simply designed bracket. Final adjustments were made with a two pound hammer to cant them a little. They did not bend during the process, good hard steel. No disappointments here.

No rust and no fatigue cracks. These brackets are industrial strength, not cheap junk.

by:

Haven't installed the items yet, but they seem of good quality & are exactly what I need & what I expected. Shipping was quite fast & communication excellent! Should the need arise, I'll do business with etrailer again.

No problems encountered in a years time

by:

Everything came in as advertised. Purchased CE Smith bolsters, u-brackets, lag screws and carpet. Added two bunk boards to my Lowe trailer (Karavan). Only had two boards and I wanted extra to support the weight of the boat. Everything assembled easily. My boat loads easier and trailers better. Plus I have the piece of mind of having 4 boards vs 2.

by:

Used these on a trailer I was setting up for a deck boat. Worked pretty well. The "L" brackets on top could be a bit stronger. They bent a bit putting the boat on the trailer. Since I had extra, my solution was to weld 2 back to back. I would buy again.

by:

Great selection. Fast shipping. Made my trailer conversion from rollers to bunks. etailer.com made it fast and simple. Just measure up you needs, go on-line and you're set. Three days later you have all the parts you needed.

by:

Good product-basic bunk bracket. Bought the extra length ones as i wasn't sure how high i needed to put the bunks to get our jetski up high enough on a trailer i rebuilt. Look to be good quality.

by:

our roller supports we purchased for the boat trailer work great. If we need any thing else for the trailer we will be sure to let you know. If anyone ask... we will tell them to look you up....

by:

Good sturdy bracket, easy to install.

Works just fine, hasnt deteriorated.

by:

Nice and strong . They function perfect to hold my two stand up Jetski's on my trailer.

by:

They fit the roller bunks I installed and the boat now loads easier.

by:

Easy to pick out what I wanted,
Got
here quick. I can't complain
The tracking system could be better though

by:

The parts came quickly, all well packed. The coating on them seems very good. Love the way the nuts and washers are packaged and ty wrapped to the u bolts. They should work out well.

by:

The order arrived later than I expected. When choosing what I thought was overnight delivery which prevented me from getting the trailer back to the customer on time. However the product was just what I expected and the trailer is back in use.

by:

Works well to hold trailer bunks

by:

Etrailer has done it agian they have gave me a great product at an awsome price you guys have a lifetime customer as always im very happy with my purchase thank you

by:

Fast delivery and good product! I plan to change a roller trailer to a bunk trailer.

  • Parts Needed to go From Roller Bunks to Bunk Boards
By "roller boat trailer" I believe you are saying you have roller bunks and by "bunk trailer" I think you're saying you want to go from those to bunk boards. If so, you can do that by just getting the correct length bunk boards for your needs and the brackets to attach them. You can just measure the roller bunks you have and get the same length of bunk boards: - 7 Feet: CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers # CE27845 - 6 Feet: CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers...

I took the following measurements for the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10001G-4 and the CE Smith U-Bolts # CE15283GA-4 that would fit a 3" crossmember. From the top of the swivel bracket to the inside of the U-bolt(top of crossemember) at its highest point it is 5-7/8". From the top of the swivel bracket to the inside of the U-bolt(top of crossemember) at its lowest point it is 3-1/2". You will need to add in the height of your Bunk Boards # CE27840 and/or Roller...

  • Boat Won't Sit Properly on Boat Trailer Roller System
I can definitely help you figure out what bunk boards to use, but I think with a little adjustment we can get your boat to load much easier with your current setup. Since rollers are considered an upgrade compared to carpeted bunk boards it's a little unusual to want to "downgrade" (in a sense) your boat trailer. From the pictures you sent in and the way you phrased the problem that you're having, it sounds like your Cakins boat makes contact with the keel rollers on your winch stand and...

  • Recommended Hardware to Lift Boat Bunks on Trailer
I would also assume you're correct. If you have regular bunks on your trailer, you can just use taller bolster brackets and reattach the boards to raise them. For a 16 1/4" tall bracket, you can use the CE Smith Double U-Bolt Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10196G-4, for a 13" tall bracket you can use # CE10002G-4, and for an 11" tall bracket you can use # CE10001G-4. From here, you can just reuse the u-bolts that you currently have, or you can use the CE Smith U-Bolts # CE15283GA-4.

It appears like you will need at least 4 across the back. Then once you get to the second section a shorter one on the outside than on the inside. I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, like part # CE10000G, do not bear the weight of the boat. The U-bolt that attaches the brackets to the trailer frame support the weight of the boat. There should be a bracket attached to each cross member of the trailer frame. • Do the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies have a Weight Capacity
I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10001G-4, do not hold the weight of the watercraft themselves. The U-bolts that attach the brackets to the trailer frame are what support the weight of the watercraft. • Recommended Placement of Bunk Boards on Bayliner Capri 1950
After completing a very thorough image search online, it appears that the most common bunk placement is about 2/3 of the way between the keel and the ridge that runs along the side of the hull. Rather than on end, most of the bunks I saw had the board meeting the hull on the flat. This disperses more of the weight of the boat along the bunk. The # CE27820 bunk boards you mentioned would be perfect. I'd also recommend using # CE10001G-4 bunk brackets and # CE15283GA-4 Galvanized u-bolts.
