Do the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies have a Weight Capacity

Question:

I wanted to use the 11inch galz. swivel bracket assembly to make new bunks for my PWC. I have 1997 Wave Ventures weighing in about 700# each when fully fueled. Will 4 brackets support two on each side or should I add a third? What is the weight rating for the CE10001G bracket?

I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10001G-4, do not hold the weight of the watercraft themselves. The U-bolts that attach the brackets to the trailer frame are what support the weight of the watercraft.

What I recommend is to find some u-bolts and hardware locally that have the proper capacity exceeding 350 pounds per u-bolt. If you did that then each one could support over 700 pounds. But the more brackets you use the less each u-bolt has to hold and ultimately they would last longer and it would be safer.
