Centering Boat On Trailer With Wobble Rollers

Question:

I purchased this boat/trailer used. I can never get the boat to sit right on the trailer. Its always a little bit canted to the same side. See pic. The ramps I use are often not all the straight but still I would expect that the boat as it settled would come into the straight position. Is it an adjustment on the rollers? That middle rubber roller doesnt do anything. Would raising that roller so it contacted the boat help keep it centered?

Expert Reply:

The keel roller will help to center your boat as the wobble rollers you have allow the boat to sit slightly to one side or the other. We do offer the CE Smith Keel Roller # CE29505 which has a self centering design to help guide your boat to the center of the trailer. It is also a non-marring PVC construction which is more durable than the rubber rollers you have.

We also have the Ark Ezi-Guides Self-Aligning Boat Trailer Loading System # AR84FR which is designed for power boats from 20-28' long. These provide tension to center the boat on the trailer.
