Recommended U-Bolts, Rollers and Boat Trailer Lighting/Wiring for a 1984 Shoreline Trailer
Question:
Good afternoon! I am refitting a 1984 shoreline trailer from the old style spade bolt with bracketfoot to this bolster bracket system. pics attached My frame channels needs a 4 1/8 in wide by 3 1/2 in long square u bolt for securing these to the frame. I have only found a 4 1/8 by 3 in in your listing. The listed specs state the slot holes are 1/2 inch. Your u bolts are listed as 7/16 in. I have found the correct size u bolt for the frame but they are 1/2 round. Will 1/2 in diameter bolts fit this bracket. Which would be better to use with these galvanized brackets, Stainless or zinc U-bolts. Let me know if you do have a 4 1/8 w x 3 1/2 or 4 in u bolt that is available. I would like to purchase everything needed, including lighting, rollers and other components.

Since you are installing a Bolster-and-swivel-bracket assembly part # CE10001G-4 and need a 4-1/8 inch width by 3-1/2 or 4-inch length U-bolt, we currently don't offer a close match. I would recommend going to a local hardware store to locate a U-bolt with the dimensions you need. I would go with a stainless steel u-bolt because it is corrosion resistant and ideal for marine applications.
For the lighting and wiring on your 1984 Shoreline boat trailer, I included a link with multiple trailer light kits. If your trailer is over 80-inches Federal Regulations require additional clearance lights like part # MCL93RB or # MCL84RB and are sold separately. These clearance lights are sonically sealed, waterproof light capsules.
I would recommend dielectric grease such as # 11755 is used to keep moisture out of the electrical connections on your wiring and to inhibit corrosion.
Since it seems you are upgrading quite a few things on your boat trailer, I have included a link to assist in choosing which typer of roller you prefer.
I have included multiple FAQ's and installation videos for you as well.
