  • Snowmobile Trailer
  • Slipper Springs - 1-3/4 Inch
  • 2-1/4 Inch Tall
  • Single Axle
  • Tandem Axle
  • Triple Axle

This hanger bracket secures the eye end of a slipper spring on your aluminum or steel trailer's suspension. It is constructed of corrosion-resistant galvanized steel and accepts a 9/16" shackle bolt.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty bracket connects the eye of a slipper spring to your trailer
  • Bolt-on installation
    • Attaches to the underside of trailer frame
    • Does not include mounting hardware
  • 7-Gauge, galvanized steel construction is sturdy and resists corrosion
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Application: front of slipper spring
  • Overall dimensions: 4-1/4" long x 2-1/4" wide x 2-1/4" tall
  • Inside width: 1-7/8"
  • Diameter of shackle bolt holes (each): 9/16"
  • Quantity: 1 bracket

Install a new suspension without the hassle of welding a hanger to the bottom of your trailer. Bolt-on design attaches to the bottom of your trailer frame and provides a mounting hole for the 3" long shackle bolt that goes through the eye of your slipper spring.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

I used these 'front' brackets for both front and rear ends of my leaf springs, because I couldn't find a bolt-on rear bracket. I had to bend 1/4" offsets into each of my rear shackles to make the rear brackets work. I added a spacer between my shackles to keep them perpendicular. The original rear clip was 1-3/4" wide on the outside and the shackles were outside the clips. I used 3/8" bolts to attach the brackets to my 3"x1-1/2" steel tube trailer frame. The bracket mounting tabs are drilled for 7/16" bolts, and I would have preferred to use 7/16" bolts, but I couldn't find that size at my local hardware stores. I moved my axle forward to rebalance my boat trailer, because I put a smaller engine on which made tongue weight way too heavy. I went with bolt-on brackets because I could do it myself (I don't have welding equipment). Overall, I'm satsified.

Awesome product. great delivery service... Product will be used to hang thr leafsprings on my boat trailer.

by:

I rebuilt a small utility trailer. The axle was a little too far forward for me. I used these in case I didn’t like the position. I left the original hangers in place in case I wanted to change the axle back. I haven’t moved it back because the new position balances the trailer just right.

Ron, The largest utility trailer we sell at this time is the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer # K2MMT5X7. The bed dimensions are 88 inches long x 52 inches wide x 24 inches tall and has a 1.640 lb payload capacity. I hope this helps. I have attached a link for your reference. Thank you.

by:

We have not tried to install yet, will let you know after installation. Thanks

by:

I have a messed up system for lead springs and have been looking for a cheap, bolt on system to replace the current welded setup I have. I need to move the axle back 6 inches to redistribute the weight for a tiny house project and these seem like they will do the job.
I have a slipper spring system, but the slipper portion is more like a hook, so I can use these for that. As for the front, I need to order 2 more because I wasn't sure if the depth of the hanger would work for the width of the eye, but it will.

These hangers will make it so much easier than having to weld on new brackets.

by:

bracket worked well although it seems like the 9/16 hole is slightly larger on one side than the other making a tight fit with the bolt I purchased causing it to only go in the bracket from one side... not a problem but if you want to have both sides of the trailer with bolt and nut on same side of the bracket you might want to dry install before securing the bracket onto the frame to know which way to install the bracket

by:

Bolt-On spring hangers can't be bought for love or money in any "Brick & Mortar" store in Atlanta. I tried. Etrailer had just the thing with the CE14016G and it's slip-spring sister the CE14017G. I appreciated the feature that I had choice of bolting through the single 1/2 in bolt hole in the center, or the smaller two on the the tabs. It sure beat looking for a welder or bumming an industrial drill press to put holes in the regular hangers. Etrailer did a timely job of shipping on time. The new springs are hung, and I'm looking forward to pulling my boat out of the water.

by:

Still hanging there after a year! No problem.

  • Switching From Slipper Spring Single Axle Trailer to Double Eye Suspension
I recommend the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs # APS2. With the double eye leaf spring you will need to add shackle straps to allow the leaf spring front to back movement when compressing. While the CE Smith Front Hanger Bracket # CE14016G will bolt in place where your rear mount is it will not be the correct width to be used with the double eye springs shackle straps. We have a great article "DOUBLE-EYE TRAILER SUSPENSION SYSTEM" linked below. This will help you...

  • Hanger Compatibility For Bolt-On Application On 2016 Tracker Trailer
The Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 4-1/4" Tall - 9/16" Bolt Hole # E4139 is a weld on application. It hasn't been tested for bolt on installations, so I can't confirm it will hold up if you drilled it and bolted it in place. We have only 2 bolt-on hangers and they are for slipper springs, # CE14016G and # CE14017G.

  • Are there Bolt-On Hangers for Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension
We do have a couple of bolt-on spring hangers # CE14017G and # CE14016G but they are designed for slipper springs and not double-eye springs like # e77SR. Its not likely that professional welder would charge that much. You might be able to find one locally via an iron workers union near you. For u-bolts for your 1-1/2 inch square axle you can use # SP01-120 for 2 u-bolts and 4 nuts. For a u-bolt plate you can use # 115983. For a hanger kit you could use # APS1. Now what you could do is...

  • Replacing Hangers with 3 Mounting Holes on a 1990 Escort Boat Trailer
We do have a few hangers with 3 holes in the top, like parts # CE14016G and # CE14017G, but they are for 1-3/4" wide slipper springs. The former is 2-1/4" tall while the latter is 1-3/4" tall. If these match your current hangers then look no further! These are for bolt-on installations but all of our other hanger options are weld-on applications. Otherwise you may be better off to choosing a different hanger from the linked selection and have it welded by a professional to your trailer....

  • Parts Needed For Adding 1,000LB Slipper Springs To a Cart With No Suspension
You will need 2 of the Front # CE14016G and Rear # CE14017G hanger brackets to attach 2 of the 2-Leaf Slipper Springs # SP-177275 to your cart. You will need 2 of the Zinc Shackle Bolts # TRFA73Z916DLNZ to attach the leaf springs to the front hanger. If you can tell what shape and size axle you have I can help you find the U-Bolt Kit you need. We have some like the 1-1/2" Square # CE23102 or 1-3/4" Round # CE23000 depending on the size of your axle.

The 3 inch shackle bolt part # 166081 would be a great option to use with the CE Smith suspension hanger part # CE14016G. This would be a better fitting size than going with the longer 3.5 inch bolt you mentioned.

  • Recommended Bolt On Hangers For Aluminum Frame Trailer
Since you've got an aluminum frame trailer, I understand why you're looking for a bolt on solution. The only available bolt on hangers we have available would be the # CE14017G and # CE14016G but they are designed for slipper springs and not double-eye springs like # e77SR you were looking at. If you went this route you would want to use something like the # SP-040275 as your springs, which have a 3700-lbs capacity. This would be the best solution available for your new aluminum trailer,...

  • How to Get Clearance for Slipper Spring Compressing on Top of Wheel Well
To answer your first question a double-eye spring would not compress less than your current 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Open Eye End # e33SR and I do not recommend going with a higher-rated spring than what your trailer is rated for as that will make your ride very stiff and unpleasant. The only real options you have to get more clearance are to raise the fender if you can or add one that has more height (I have linked our selection of fenders for you to check out) or to cut off your current...

From your picture it looks like you have a slipper spring hanger. We have a similar part, part # CE14016G, but it only measures 4-1/4 inches and yours is 5 inches. Ours is also 2-1/4 inches tall. It fits 1-3/4 inch wide springs and it sounds like yours is for wider springs. If your springs are actually 1-3/4 inches wide and is 2-1/4 inches tall then this will work for you. Unfortunately this is the only hanger we have in this style.

  • Hanger for 2-Inch Leaf Springs
The CE Smith front hanger bracket for trailer slipper springs # CE14016G you referenced cannot be altered. Once steel bends it will continue bending over time and could cause a serious problem. Hangers for 2-inch wide springs should be welded to the frame, hence the reason bolt-on hangers are not made. The closest match hanger for your 2-inch wide slipper springs is the Redline center hanger # 29-1. It is designed for trailers with 3,500 pounds to 9,000 pound axles and is 3-1/2 inches...

Thanks for the picture! The spring shouldn't hit the frame like yours does in the picture, so the correct solution would be to either add a longer front hanger or using a shorter spring. The correct replacement hanger will be dependent on the width of your spring. If you have a 1-3/4" wide spring the longest hanger we offer is the CE Smith Front Hanger Bracket for Trailer Slipper Springs # CE14016G which is 2-1/4" tall. • Can Trailer Suspension Hangers be Bolted On
The top holes you see in trailer suspension hangers such as Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 1-1/2" Front, 1-1/4" Rear Item # APS3 are for button welds and not bolts so these hangers should not be bolts on. The problem is that with a weld the hanger is fixed and cannot move. With bolts no matter how tight you make them the bolt will always be smaller than the holes in the hangers and given the forces applied could cause the hangers to shift and throw off the alignment...
