Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Suspension - Leaf Spring Suspension - 115919 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the 5-7/16" tall center hanger bracket for double eye springs. This center hanger will suspend the equalizer on tandem or triple axle trailers to provide attachment points for you double eye inaudible 00:00:13 springs. It is a weld on installation, attaches to the underside of your trailer frame. This hanger's designed to fit 1-3/4" wide double eye springs and it has 3/4" diameter eyes right here for the bolts. It is designed to work with a 3/4" diameter bolt. We do sell those separately on our website, and they're listed on the product page of this product as a related product. Quantity is just for one hanger. Give you a few spec on this. We're going to measure the overall dimensions, so we'll go the length from this edge to this edge. It's right at 3".

The overall width, outside to outside, is right at 2-5/8". Now the inside width is probably right at 2" and the overall height from the very bottom, let's turn it the way and we'll go from the very bottom to the very top of the bracket, is 6-1/8" tall. When they do describe this hanger they call this a 5-7/16" tall center hanger bracket. Where they get that measure from, the hangers are always measured from the center of the bolt hoe to the top of the hanger. So if we got center to top, that'll get you your 5-7/16" tall bracket. That should do it for the review on the 5-7/16" tall center hanger bracket for double eye springs.

exactly what I ordered

by:

The Hangers I purchased were of excellent quality. They fit the CHANNEL on my boat trailer perfectly. I only encourage customers to check and double check your measurements before final ordering process. I did not allow for a 1/4" for angle iron that was attached to the channel for my axel springs. But that was my fault. I will definitely be ordering parts from this company for all my parts.

As usual for me, not doing anything standard. Bought this product because I am rebuilding a trailer and upgrading axles to 9000 lbs making trailer GVWR 18000. Trailer always sat high so am adjusting hanger lengths. Still using 9/16 bolts so welded up 3/4 hole on this and then added multiple 9/16 holes to allow adjustability. I wanted the added wall thickness because of these added holes as well as the increased GVWR. Quality part that is working well for me so far. Would have rated higher except for the fact it required the modifications for my application.

Brackets arrived in perfect condition. Only problem is the tape holding the box together didn't hold. Luckily the brackets were large and didn't fall out. Etrailer will always be my trailer related stuff go to store.

  • Can E-Z Flex Suspension System Replace Trailer With Taller Equalizer
The E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System # K71-652-00 are absolutely an upgrade in terms of ride, they absorb shock in a way that standard equalizers are simply incapable of doing though it is designed to specifically replace Equalizer # TREQ104, which is 2 inches tall and your equalizers are clearly taller. If you did want to use this kit you would need weld on a taller center hanger such as the Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 5-7/16" Tall # 115919 to compensate for the...

The 7.75 inch length is not a length we carry, they would have to be custom made. The tallest non-slipper spring hanger we carry is the # 115919 at 5-7/16 inches tall.

Based on the picture you provided you will need to replace the center hangers on your triple axle trailer with the Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 5-7/16" Tall - 3/4" Bolt Hole # 115919 which is just under 2-1/4" taller than the center hangers included in the # APTT5 you purchased and will give you the additional clearance you need. I included a video of the # 115919 for you to take a look at.

  • Will 5-7/16" Tall Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs Work with 9/16" Bolt
Even though the 5-7/16" Tall Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs # 115919 has a 3/4" diameter bolt hole, this is actually designed to work with 1-3/4" wide double-eye leaf springs that install using 9/16" diameter bolts which I think is what you're getting at, so this should work perfectly for your application! If you check out the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs # APT4 you can see where these same hangers are used in a kit that comes with 9/16" bolts so having that...

If the loft on your 2014 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RLTS does not have at least 5-6" of clearance above the bedsides on your 2018 Ram 2500 then you will need to raise the trailer which if adjustments to the 5th wheel hitch, adjustments to the pin box, and flipping the axle did not provide then you can install a of lift block between the spring seat and leaf spring stack. • Can a Travel Trailer be Lifted no More Than Three Inches Without Conversion Kit?
There are lift kits for trailers, but only for those that have torsion axles. The Torflex Lift Kit # K71-724-02, will lift your frame by 2-7/8" but is only compatible with #11 Torflex tandem axles with capacities between 4,100 lbs and 6,000 lbs. If you do not have a torsion axle and did not want to flip the axle by using a conversion kit such as the Dexter # K71-384-00, you best bet may be to have a qualified welder remove your current hangers and replace them with taller ones. You can raise your trailer about 2 more inches using the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and 2" Lift Kit - Single Axle # LC87120. Then you can also add longer hangers if you prefer. We do have long hangers like # 115919 which are the longest option we have. New springs or blocks is not a good option. You will probably need to use a ball mount with a drop to allow you to tow level. I've attached a link to the options and have also attached an article to help you with measuring for fit.

  • Parts Needed to Change Boat Trailer to Allow Using Larger Wheels & Tires
In order to see if you can use larger wheels/tires on your pontoon boat trailer you'll need to check a few things. Checking with the trailer maker, using the trailer VIN, is a good idea too. The manufacturer may be able to offer you some guidance specific to your particular trailer. For new larger wheels to fit your existing hubs they must use the same wheel bolt pattern. I linked an article that will help you confirm which bolt pattern your wheels use. New wheels and tires must also be...

  • Recommendation For Lifting A Tandem Axle Boat Trailer For More Clearance
You can use a longer center hanger for the springs, but you will need to add as much height as possible because the spring deflection won't just mean one inch additional hanger length equals one inch of height lifted. Only changing out the center will not give you the additional height of 1 inch you are seeking. My recommendation is that you use a hanger like the Redline Center Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 5-7/16" Tall - 3/4" Bolt Hole, # 115919, for all your front and rear mounts...

  • Center Hanger with Larger Drop for Use with EZ Flex Equalizer
The EZ Flex Equalizer part # K71-652-00 requires a 9/16 inch diameter bolt hole for the center hanger which is not the same as the # 115919 that you referenced. As it has a 3/4 inch diameter hole. So the closest hanger to that with the correct diameter hole is the part # E4139 which has a drop of 4-1/4 inches and a bolt hole diameter of 9/16 inch like you need. There isn't a way to use the EZ Flex with the hanger you mentioned since the hole diameter is too large.

  • Recommendations for Raising Trailer to Add Clearance for Larger Wheels
I do have a few possible options for giving your 2004 Toy Hauler some extra clearance for your larger 29-1/4 inch tires. Replacing the Double-Eye Springs and upgrading to a 5 leaf or 6 leaf spring system will provide very minimal rise on your trailer and may not even be noticeable, especially when the trailer is loaded. Additionally, installing overrated springs will create a rough ride as you mentioned but also put extra stress on different components of your trailer when traveling on...

  • Getting Extra Ground Clearance and Height on a Utility Trailer
Since there isn't an over/under conversion kit for the 1-3/4 inch diameter round axles you would need to weld new spring seats, such as # TRSS175, to the top of the axle so you can mount the springs on top of the axle. If this alone does not provide the height needed then you will need taller hangers to increase the distance even more. The tallest double-eye leaf spring hangers we have are # 115919 which measure 5-7/16 inches from the bottom of the trailer frame to the center of the spring...

Both of these will lift the height of the trailer. Our page for trailer leaf spring hangers for triple-axle trailers is linked for you. These include hangers as tall as 5+ inches, such as # 115919. • Additional Suspension Parts to Add an Axle to a Tandem Axle Trailer
The first thing I need to tell you is that mobile home axles are designed for one-time use only by the manufacturers. Because of this replacement parts are nearly impossible to find. I would urge you to switch to regular axles so replacement parts are readily available. I have linked the axles we carry for you. The main problem you might run into when adding another axle is wheel scrubbing. When making turns its likely that the front axle tires will drag on the ground. Also to maintain...

  • Using Dexter Over-Under Axle Conversion Kit on 1968 Starcaft Pop-Up To Increase Ride Height
If your springs are currently mounted to the underside of the axle, you can gain some additional height by using an Over-Under Conversion Kit, part # K71-385-00 for a 3 inch diameter axle or # K71-384-00 for a 2-3/8 inch diameter axle. The kit will allow you to relocate the springs so they're mounted to the top of the axle which will gain you about the diameter of the axle in height. • Raising Trailer Wheel Well Clearance
At the very least, you want to see at least 3 inches of clearance between the tire and the underside of the fender with the suspension at full load. With the goal of gaining height, best course is to go with taller spring hangers. Keep in mind that the amount by which you increase the height of the spring hangers won't necessarily be the amount the ride height increases, due to the fact that the suspension articulates. Replacing the front and rear hangers as well would be a great idea...

  • How to Get More Height After Axle Flip
Adding an over/under kit like # K71-385-00 is by far the best way to add lift and realistically it may not be possible to gain another 3 inches. The only other thing you can really do is remove your current hangers and have new ones professionally welded on. The longest option are the 5-7/16" Tall # 115919 so your current hangers would have to be significantly shorter for you to get more height.

You want to keep the side wall of the tire and the wall of the fender somewhere around an inch or inch and a half, but this is not as important as the height. You want to have a minimum...
