Today we're going to be taking a look at the CE Smith u-bolt kit for mounting 2" square trailer axles. The mounting kit is going to attach a trailer axle to the leaf spring. The plates are going to be galvanized steel, then the hardware is going to be steel construction but that's going to have a zinc plated finish on it, so overall the unit is going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. This kit is going to include 4 u-bolts, 2 u-bolt plates, and then it's going to come with the appropriate hardware, so you're going to get 8 hex nuts and 8 washers, and those are going to be lock washers. We can tell that this is designed for 1 3/4" springs simply by taking a measurement between this hole and this hole, and we can see that- that measurement is right at 1 3/4". Now the plates themselves going this direction we're looking at 3 3/4", and then going this direction it's going to have a measurement of 4". It does have the center hole for punch out on the spring.
Then right here for the u-bolts, a couple measurements I want to go over with these, these are going to give us an inner width, measuring inside edge to inside edge, of just over 2" so that's how we know that there are designed for a 2" wide square axle. Center on center those posts are going to be separated by 2 5/8". The length, measuring from the bottom of this area here to the end of the stud, that's going to give a measurement of right at 4 1/2". Then the diameter of the u-bolts, so the thickness right here outside edge to outside edge, there are going to be a 1/2" diameter. That's going to do it for today's look at the CE Smith u-bolt kit for mounting 2" square trailer axles.

Service is outstanding
Everything fit perfect. I had to replace the leaf springs on my boat trailer. I have a 24' fiberglass boat that is launched and retrieved in the salt water the original springs only lasted 7 years. The new springs are heavier duty and painted or coated with a better material. Over al very very pleased.

After 1 year everything is still workong great.
The 26” on center leaf springs that I just purchased were delivered quickly and worked perfectly on my trailer. The only issue was that I ordered 3” shackle bolts (my fault) but really needed 3 1/2” so I returned them to etrailer. The return process was very easy, they sent me a RMA # and the shipping label my email, and I just dropped it off at the UPS store. Great doing business with etrailer!!!!!
Good product, fit as expected. One year in and ubolts are holding up great.
Complete waste of time and money. I bought both springs, and this set of u-bolts plates from etrailer for a new 2" square axle. The u-bolts are too short. I'd suggest someone buy a new tape measure.
I also had to grind down the spring center bolt as it stuck out of the small adapter plate and kept the spring from seating correctly (used the adapter palte which came with the springs instead of drilling a big hole in my brand new axle.)
It is getting harder and harder to get the parts I need from these folks.
Now waiting for parts to come from another vendor.
I used this kit to replace the rusted ones on my flatbed trailer. I also flipped it so the axle is on top of the springs to lower it for loading my lawn tractor. See before and after pics.

Good parts but they will not fit on springs with 6 leafs. The ubolts are too short. You need 5” bolts or longer.

Fit my load rite boat trailer, bought with springs. Good quality!
Will work with the springs I purchased, but beware if your spring pack is over an inch thick on a 2x3 axle, you will need longer u bolts. And I didn’t see longer than 4.5” offered at etrailer

Out standing as all was. shipping is out standing order them on Friday after hours they where at my door Tuesday the next week out standing shipping. I did the same thing with brake plates all ready to put in ordered Friday I was in Oregon at the time they was at my house the next Tuesday or Wednesday standard shipping is out standing a long with everything I got here.
