Good steel easy weld. The holes line up great

by:

Arrived quickly and was as pictured. Correct application and welded nicely. Trailer is successfully back in operation now for about 9 months.

by:

Exactly the parts I needed to make some weight/balance changes to my Drag Week trailer.

by:

I have ordered several items from etrailer.com and they have all been top quality and have all arrived at my house within a week of being ordered. Most items are delivered within 5 days.

I will definitely be back for just about everything I need for my trailer. I am essentially rebuilding and modifying an old boat trailer and converting this to a utility trailer so its gonna need a lot of work and this is the place to get it.

I will have to wait for another order to post pictures because nothing is actually together yet. I am still in the process of layout and modification for assembly.

Well its been a year now and my trailer project is finished. I have since ordered a number of other products from etrailer and all of them have been top quality and work exactly as stated they would. I would also like to make note of the outstanding followup by representatives of this company. I am not seeing anywhere to attach pictures so I will have to find out how before I can show you all how nice this trailer turned out.

by:

Price competitive. Using eTrailer parts in my products, specially designed trailers for power sports vehicles. Check out [site], a better way to move your toys without it taking over your garage.
Trailers are just coming to market this spring in power sports dealers in the Midwest.

Plus:
Good products for a super low
price. Accomplished the goal of bringing life back to a dead trailer. The leaf springs ride much better than the stock rubber torsion axle. The new hubs and bearings roll much easier than the worn out ones they replaced.

Minus:
A little disappointed in the spring bushing. It seemed like cheap plastic and was quite a bit larger than the bolt so it fit loosely. This was the only real negative I have about the purchased, and that's pretty minor.

Tips for etrailer:
Providing a height of the spring would make spring selection easier. In our case we were starting with scratch for mounting springs, no preexisting mounting hardware. Knowing the height of the spring from mount to axle would have been helpful in selecting a spring for the proper ride height. In a snowmobile trailer application an inch or two in height makes a bit difference in approach angle when loading a sled. This was about the only measurement not listed for springs so we guessed, and it came out well for us in the end.

by:

Order processed in record time. Parts appear to be top quality! Customer service above standard… some of the best I have encountered in the past 30 years.

by:

Better than my home made version for su re

by:

Product shipped in great timing and arrived in perfect condition. Exactly what I adked for and look forward to building my boat trailer with my new springs.

This was an easy install. All of the parts worked great and my trailer build went very well and the product is holding up great

by:

Appear to be well made. My only criticism is that the manufacturer does not de-burr sharp edges. I don't criticize that for safety, but for the reason that overtime it will dig into the slipper spring. But I will simply file that down before I install and paint.

I honestly havent finished the trailer yet. But as far as quality of the parts and assembling them, I am very happy.

by:

I used these on my hay trailer when I replaced the leaf springs to increase capacity. My only complaint is that I lost one of the bolts. The nuts really need to be Nylocks to prevent loosening from vibration and spring limit impacts.

by:

Everything came as ordered , Good reliable service.Purchased the 2" hangers to weld on to the bottom of my factory hangers to give it 2" lift for more tire clearance.Im seeing hangers breaking off the frame of big trailers when the axles are flipped from the extra leverage being put on them so I didn't want to go that route .When axles are flipped the frame needs additional bracing so keep an eye on them. thank you

by:

Exactly what I needed. Fast shipping. Excellent service.

Thanks for following up.

by:

This kit is exactly what was needed to build a trailer from a recycled jet ski axle and suspension. It's actually better and safer because the original trailer (from a corporate builder) had used welding tabs and bolts to "secure" the springs and pivot point. This kit will be welded on and I feel very confident my dingy and motor along with a gear box will be safe and road worthy.

by:

Easy to install

by:

I called with some questions about a custom suspension upgrade on my boat trailer, the team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about exactly what I was doing, 10/10 would recommend. Excellent customer service!

by:

Installed 2 new slipper leaf springs that had broken on a 1977 Skipper-B boat trailer. Total time for installation was less than 2 hours, product is as good as new.

by:

Parts were delivered quickly and were exactly what I needed! New at welding, these hangers went on nicely with Galvanized Zinc Coated paint & new Leaf Springs. Thank you!

by:

Picked this up for a slipper spring install. The brackets are both made of some quality thick steel. The larger bracket has 2 bolt holes in the top for easy mounting (or an additional place to weld). Overall a good deal.

by:

Quality parts for a great price. I now have a trailer with better suspension than when I bought it. I am confident it will carry the loads I haul in it for years to come.

by:

Did the job on my rebuild of a utility trailer.

Excellent. The trailer has never pulled better.

by:

Product is excellent! Extremely happy with product, the springs and hangers... Super communicatioin with this supplier... Complete and thorough follow up on shipping and tracking product, Fast shipment!! great service

by:

Very friendly and professional service, great product. Never left the house, the order shows up at the door. I will never drive around looking for trailer parts again, just call etrailer and Kim was exceptional.

by:

Contained everything needed and welded easily. Note: be sure to clean before welding, it is coated in grease or oil. The only downside is that etrailer took a week just to ship the item then another 3-4 days before it was delivered. This project was on hold for almost two weeks because of the delay.

by:

Exactly what I needed/wanted for a small boat trailer. Heavy duty, excellent quality, exceeded my expectations. When fabricating trailers there's no need to look elsewhere, saving me time and instilling confidence in the components being used.

  • Slipper Spring Recommendation for 1985 Starcraft Jon Boat Trailer
For a slipper spring the part # SP-177275 would be your best option as this is a 1,000 lb axle spring that would work well for your 700 lb boat. Then for a hanger kit you'd want the part # APS3SE and you'd have everything needed to install.

  • Open Eye Mounting Kit For Trailer
To mount leaf springs to your trailer you will only need the Redline # APS3SE hanger kit for your single axle trailer. If you additionally need U-Bolts to attach your springs to your axle just let me know if your axle is round or square and what diameter it is.

  • Does a Slipper Spring Suspension Use a Bushing on the Slipper End
There is not a bushing on the hangers used on slipper spring trailers. Smaller single axle trailers will have a bolt that runs through the hanger, while some larger and tandem axle trailers will have a welded tube that the spring sits on, but there's no need to use a bushing. If you need to replace your hangers you can use something like the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 13-1/8" Long Equalizers # AP216-H238 for a tandem axle trailer or the Single-Axle Trailer...

  • Can Leaf Springs with a Lower Weight Rating Be Used to Ease Ride of PWC Trailer
You can use springs with a lower capacity than your existing springs to help provide an easier ride for your PWC. The # SP-178275 springs are a great choice. It is important to keep in mind that going with a lower weight rated spring will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer. When choosing a lower weight rated spring, you will want to ensure that you still have enough room in the weight capacity to carry your PWC, the weight of the trailer, as well as any additional components on...

  • Availability of Rear Slipper Spring Hanger that Bolts on for 1-3/4 inch Wide Spring

  • How To Find Leaf Spring Hanger Spacing with Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 1-3/4" Slipper Spring
I'm not sure of which exact leaf spring you have but in regards to welding the hangers to the frame, it's best to mock them up with the spring you plan to use prior to welding. This is the case for the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 1-3/4" Slipper Springs part # APS3SE. If you want to measure you can do so from the eyelet to the center of the flat part that the keeper rides on and that will give you the approximate leaf spring hanger spacing.

  • Recommended Replacement 22" Long Slipper Springs for Boat Trailer
I do have an option for you but we don't have any slipper springs in the size you need as they are too short. The best option we can offer you is a new hanger kit with new leaf springs, the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit part # APS3SE is a good option to start with and would pair well with the 2-Leaf Slipper Spring part # SP-177275.

  • 1,000 lb Slipper Spring Recommendation for John Boat Trailer
The lowest rated trailer leaf springs we offer are for 1,000 lb axles like the slipper spring part # SP-177275. This might be a little stiff for your boat but would still work great. This is a very common spring for smaller boat trailers like your so it would be a great solution. If you needed a hanger kit you'd then want the part # APS3SE and you'd be set.

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Slipper Springs
In order to find the correct replacement slipper spring you will need the length, width, and the capacity. The leaf count does not indicate capacity and is not important when determining a replacement. This information would also make a difference in the mounting hardware. For example, the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Open Eye End # e24SR is 27" long, 1-3/4" wide, and designed for 4,300 lb axles. Assuming a single axle, you could use the # APS3SE and # APUBR-1 (this is for a 2-3/8" diameter...

  • Slipper Spring Suspension Replacement on 1991 Shorelander
A bushing isn't required for slipper springs, but if your bolt has one it would reside in the "C" pocket at the end of the spring. The one thing that would worry me is that extra drilled hole on that hanger being too close to the original one and the strength of the hanger being compromised. There are hangers that have two holes in them so you can use either height setting, but they come from the factory that way-these are either drilled after the fact or very worn and it wouldn't be a...

  • Should Rusty Leaf Springs On Tilting Single Axle Boat Trailer Be Replaced?
If the slipper springs currently on your boat trailer are not flat and seem to be in good shape other than the rust, there is no reason to replace them. Since you had them sand blasted I would just paint them with spray paint to keep them from rusting again. If you would rather go ahead and replace them, or if they are flat then you will need to replace them. Since you mentioned that the distance between the hangers on center is 23" then you likely have a spring in the 24-25" range but...

  • Replacement Slipper Spring for 1973 Tennessee Boat Trailer
The closest option we have is the 1,000 axle slipper spring part # SP-178275 which is a couple inches longer than what you need as it measures 24-5/8 inches overall and 22-3/4 inches from center of bolt hole to where it attaches to suspension hanger. So the best solution I can make is to move back your rear hanger or go with a new hanger kit part # APS3SE set at the correct dimensions and you'd be set.

  • Hanger Kit Recommendation for Slipper Leaf Spring # e33SR
Sounds like what you are in need of is a single axle hanger kit for the leaf spring part # e33SR that you mentioned. For that you'd only need the # APS3SE and you'd be set. This gives you the hangers for the front and rear for the spring as well as the correct nut and bolt to hold it all. For a u-bolt kit you'd then want the part # CE23103 for the axles.
