Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Suspension - Leaf Spring Suspension - 29-31 Review

Today we're gonna take a look at the Front or Center or Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs. It's 3 5/8 inches tall and has a 9/16 diameter bolt hole. This hanger can be configured to work in the front, the rear or the center position to suspend your double-eyed leaf springer equalizer. It provides the attachment point for the leaf springs, and this hanger will suspend your springer equalizer from the trailer frame. It is designed to fit 1 3/4 inch wide double-eye springs with 9/16 diameter eyes. It is designed to work with a 9/16 diameter bolt that we do sell separately on our website, and it's usually listed on this product page as a related project. Now to just give you a few dimensions on this. We're going to measure the overall dimension, so from the very bottom up to the very top.

It's going to be right at 4 1/4 inches tall. The width on it, from side to side, is going to be right at 2 3/8 inches wide, and the total depth is going to be right at 3 inches. When they do size the hangers, they call this one a 3 5/8 inch tall, and basically what they're measuring is from the center of this hole up to the top. If we go center, it's going to be right at 3 5/8 inches tall. Then the inside width on this is going to be right at 1 7/8 inches. That should do it for the review on the Front or Center or Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Spring, 3 5/8 inches tall and with a 9/16 diameter bolt hole..

  • Recommended Hangers and Shackles for Building Tandem 7,500 Pound Axle Trailer
I recommend using the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4" Wide Double Eye Springs # K71-359-00. This kit has heavy duty shackles, wet bolts, and also equalizers with built-in grease zerks. This will give you 33" axle spacing. Although there are no heavy duty hangers, I would use longer hangers for additional clearance. You can use the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs - 3-1/4" Tall - 9/16" Bolt Hole # 28-5 in the front/rear and then the Front/Center/Rear...

  • How To Fix Tires Hitting Fenders After Installing New Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers
To get your Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer lower so the tires on your 2-17 Nitro Z19 boat trailer are not hitting the fenders I recommend having taller center hangers installed. Base on the pictures you provided it looks like your current hangers are pretty short. You will want to measure from the frame to the center of the hole in the hanger, and then use one of the options mentioned below as a replacement to get the clearance back. The available options are the 3-1/4" tall # 28-5, 3-5/8"...

  • Parts Needed To Mount 5,200LB Tandem Axles To a Homemade Car Hauler Trailer
To attach your axles to the the frame of the car hauler you will need the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs # AP233-H248. This kit includes all the hangers, equalizers, shackle straps, shackle bolts and nuts to fit your axles. I have linked an article below that will help you with positioning the axles on your trailer to ensure that you have the correct percentage of tongue weight when towing to be safe. If you would prefer to have an upgraded suspension the Dexter...

  • Increasing Clearance Between Frame and Axle on a Boat Trailer
An unloaded trailer should have between 2 and 2-1/2 inches of clearance between the frame and the axle. Typically trailer leaf springs have a maximum deflection of 1-1/2 inches. First, I recommend checking your leaf springs. If they have some age on them, they may have flattened out and need to be replaced. If you find that your springs are still in good condition, there are a few other routes you could take to give yourself more clearance between the frame and axle. If the axle on your...
