Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Excellent product and customer service. After 1 year of use, running flawlessly. Customer service was very helpful in figuring out the correct replacement parts for my setup.

I wish I had taken before and after photos of my trailer. A typical 5x8 utility trailer with the extruded wire mesh deck which I got for a bargain, perfect for my lawn tractor or 4 wheeler. However the 8" wheels did not provide enough ground clearance for the terrain where I intended to use it as a equipment hull trailer to our deer camp, pulled by the 4 wheeler. After finding etrailer.com my problems were solved! I ordered 5 bolt hubs, 5.30 x12" wheels and the economy plastic fenders and fender brackets. While waiting my order I wire wheeled the frame and gave it a fresh coat of paint and WHAL-LA! I have a new looking trailer! The order arrived in record time, securely packaged and great quality! I ordered the pre-packed hubs and didn't have to get into that sticky mess! Everything worked out as planned and was easy-peezy to assemble and install. I'll definitely use etrailer.com in the future.

This is a convenient way to replace, repair or upgrade. The hubs and bearings appear to be good quality. And having everything preassembled and greased makes the swap clean and easy.

The hub assembly i ordered i specifically requested to fit a 1 1/4 axle, the one I received is for a 1 inch axle and doesn't do much good for my trailer

Very good price, works great on my harbor freight folding trailer I modified last year, it upgrades with my 1720axle and 5lug 530c load tires from the 1195axle with 4lug 480b load tires giving me more weight capacity now to strengthen the trailer tongue . Thank you very much

I finally got to insall the hub kit. I love how it assembled so easy, it fit like a glove. The kits were exactly what they were stated to be. As usual etrailer comes through with high quality products at an affordable price. Also love the resource information on the website!

by:

As always excellent service and excellent products. Trailer hubs and bearings are top quality. Highly recommend etrailer.

Ordered two tires, two Aluminum fenders, and Hubs. etrailer.com is one of the easiest websites to place orders on I have ever used. Extremely well laid out. Fast shipping and product is packaged professionally. Great products, great prices, products are high quality.

Rarely order from any other trailer parts companies. etrailer has just about everything trailer related and no junk! Can't beat this company.

by:

These hubs were the perfect fit for my old boat trailer. It was very convenient that they came all assembled and greased, it took not even 10 minutes to have them on and the wheels back on!

by:

Ordered akihub-542-2-1k hub assemblies for a snow mobile trailer that i am rebuilding hubs arrived quickly and as advertised. Extremely convenient that hubs are already assembled and bearings are greased

by:

It was very easy to swap out the "old parts for the new". When I did have a question, etrailer.com was there for me..... I highly recommend that anyone in need of trailer repair parts contact etrailer.com!

by:

The bearing blew out on my kayak trailer. Where to get a replacement? Auto parts couldn't get it. E-trailer had everything in stock including the hub at a very reasonable price. Jennifer was very reassuring that it was the right fit.
Thanks for the expert advice and fast service.

by:

Fits perfect!!!!! I should have done this first instead of buying bearings and unable to remove the old bad race. While trying to remove the old race I cracked the hub and destroyed it. Then to make matters worse went to the local farm store and got what seemed like the right thing...but it was wrong too. Would have saved myself a lot of aggravation had I did my research on etrailer.com and got the right thing first. The Q&A section got me right what I needed. 10 min on the site I had ordered exectly what I needed. It arrived in two days. Almost faster than the farm store. I have spent more than two days returning parts. I will go with etrailer.com from now on.

by:

etrailer always has what I need when it comes to repairing my trailers, & at great prices. they also stay in contact when processing your order. Thanks.

by:

Received, then installed within an hour. No problems at all during assembly. Grease caps fit nice and tight. Came with an extra set of caps for ez-lube axles, I think. I appreciated the pre-greased condition, just install them and go.

Part was superbly packed in the shipping box, it arrived in great shape.

Very satisfied! The axles and hubs I ordered were great quality. Everything from the website to delivery were excellent. I would definitely order from you again!

this product is as advertised and is a exact replacement of my old parts. Replaced both hubs on my small boat trailer and now like new.

  • Solution for Needing Hub for Trailer with Spindles that are 1.25 Inch for Bearing Surface
I really wish we had a hub that fit your setup, but based on your spindle dimensions we do not have anything that's going to fit as a replacement. Best option is most likely going to be to swap to a new axle so that you can fit a standard wheel/hub on it. You are going to need to measure your current axles in a few places to get the correct one. You will need to measure from hub face to hub face and then from the spring seat centers. You will also need to know what bolt pattern you have...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Trailer Hub for 1-1/4 Inch Diameter Spindle
So there are only a couple ways to definitively know what replacement hub you need, and this is based on a bit of necessary information. First, you need to know the weight rating of your axle, and also what bearings your current hub has, as spindle size is an indicator but doesn't have the required info. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them....

Unfortunately there are no oil bath hubs available for your specific application. The only ones that are made fit larger hubs. If you would like a solution that is easier than standard grease application (packing your bearings) then I recommend going with some Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors. Given the Inside Diameter of the bearing you referenced, I'm guessing you have a LM11949 bearing. The LM11949 bearing has a .75 inch inner diameter, and is compatible with the LM11910 race. A grease seal will typically have an OD that matches that of the race and an ID that closely matches the diameter of the spindle where it rides. Assuming the spindle surface that the seal rides against is also .75 of an inch in diameter, the seal you need will have an ID of approximately .75 and an...
