Replacement Hubs for a 2010 Carry-On 2,000 Pound Trailer

Question:

My trailers Lh hub broke because of me not keeping the axel bearings greased. Im going to buy two Hub Assys. for both axels but my question is. Will this Hub Assy. work on my trailer. Part # AKIHUB-545-2-1K YR/MAKE: 2010 CARRY ON TRAILER REG GROSS WT: 02000 UNLADEN WEIGHT: 00350 In the past I have bought other equipment from use which was a trailer hitch unit for my Wife car. It went on fast and has worked great up to a year ago when the wiring harnesses black box unit for the voltage splitter or reducer, STOPPED WORKING? I spent close to a hundred dollars to have a new harness installed so we could move to Ga.

Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 8" to 12" Wheels - 5 on 4-1/2 Item # AKIHUB-545-2-1K will likely fit your Carry-On trailer. To be certain though you can pull the hub off of the undamaged side, which will need to be done anyway to replace the hubs, and check the bearing numbers stamped into the sides of the bearings.

This hub uses L44643 as both the inner and outer bearing. The grease seal has an inner diameter of 1.249 inches. Based on your trailer this is the correct hub but I do urge you to check the bearing numbers to be certain.

On this hub, to make adding grease easier, you can use Bearing Buddies # BB1980A. Bearing Buddies makes checking the grease level and adding grease much easier than the old way of pulling off the hub and doing everything by hand. I have linked a video review of them for you.

This hub also has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern for the wheels so make sure that is also compatible with your wheels.

Regarding the trailer wiring harness they can be sensitive so something like a brief short circuit, corrosion on the pins, pinched wires and things like that can cause the converter box to blow. If that happens then the converter has done its job and protected the vehicle but it can't be repaired. For the new harness you had installed be sure to keep it protected and free of corrosion.
