Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Replaced 6 hubs on 3 trailers. All were of good value, saved the customer tons of time by purchasing preassembled hubs, and me a ton of headache and mess too. Good quality, fair price

by:

Never thought I'd be ordering new hubs for my boat trailer but a destroyed a hub heading out on vacation necessitated the purchase. Called etrailer and talked to Josh. Josh was outstanding! He guided me through the measurements needed on my axle so I could get my boat back on the road. Very calm and reassuring throughout our conversations. Although etrailer did not have the axle size I needed in stock, they did have the hubs. Being pre-greased hubs, they were easy to put on the axle. Drove home the next day, with the boat in tow, and no issues arriving home (270 miles later). Outstanding service and solid products ensure I will be contacting etrailer in the future. Thanks etrailer and thanks Josh!

by:

These hubs save time being pre-greased witch means alot for shop production. Shipped on time as always.

by:

After ordering the wrong hub assemblies (my fault) I called customer service to return them and spoke with Brittany W. She walked me through the return process with no issues. The new correct parts were ordered and when I say FAST I mean SUPER FAST SHIPPING!!! It was overnight and I received the correct parts the next day incredible!! Thank You!!

fast fast shipping excellent friendly customer service. Have purchased hubs from etrailer before. Always pleased

by:

Nice hub assembly set up fadt shipping

by:

Great products and prices.

by:

One year later, still happy with my hubs. Great price, easy installation for a first-timer. etrailer has outstanding instructions and support.

by:

Over all it is great but beware using the rubber caps for easy lube axles as they are not water tight.

by:

Great customer service, everything works perfectly

by:

Great customer service !!! The wheel hubs arrived timely and In great condition. They look like quality parts that should hold up a good while.

by:

Would be nice to see the overall length in description but got the correct length

by:

Good service

by:

Products arrived as stated, however when the package as opened, there were 4 of 5 lugnuts, and one was an un-threaded standard nut. Although there was a QC signature on the package, QC was not done here. Contacted customer service and they sent out the replacement lug nut same day, got it 4 days later. Overall, very satisfied.

by:

The product was fine, other than the fact that the packaging was poorly prepared for a long ride with, UPS. Upon arrival there were two black boxes, taped together with no extra tape holding the ends. One box came open and lost all its contents before arriving to me!
Again, good product but poor packaging.
I was not able to attach the pictures, did that through the email option.

  • etrailer Idler Hub Assembly to Fit 2K Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with Standard BTR Spindles
Yup, you're right on the money! The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K is what you're wanting for the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with Standard Spindles # T20BTR-7258. Attached are some review videos for you to check out.

  • Which etrailer Trailer Hub with 5 on 4-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern Fits 1-1/16 inch Diameter Spindle
The big difference between those two part numbers is the spindle size they are designed to fit. The part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K that you referenced is the correct fit for your spindle since you have a 1-1/16 inch diameter spindle whereas the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K is the correct fit for spindles that are 1 inch in diameter.

  • Replacement Hubs/Bearings for 2000 Kendon Folding Trailer With 1-1/16 Inch Diameter Spindle
Your Kendon fold-up trailer has a 2K axle, given the 1.063 diameter spindle you referenced. Assuming you have idler hubs, you'd need # 8-91-05UC1-EZ for a 4 on 4 bolt pattern or # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K for a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. The L44649 inner/outer bearings, L44610 races, 10-9 grease seal, dust caps for standard or EZ lube spindles and lug nuts are included. The hubs are pre-packed with grease and are 100% ready for installation. If you were just needing the bearing/race/seal...

  • Replacement Hub/Drums/Brake Assemblies for 2004 X-Treme Trailer
For an exact replacement of what you have you'd want the etrailer brake assembly set part # AKEBRK-2 which is for a 2,000 lb axle like you have. So you'd want just this part number for new assemblies without drums. If you wanted hub/drums as well you'd also need the part # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K and you'd be set. Then for a matching idler hub you'd want the part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K for the axle without breaks.

  • How to Determine Replacement Hubs For Carry-On Trailer
I'm sure we can get you a hub assembly for your Carry-On 7X14GWRS trailer, though we don't have any way of knowing off-hand or cross-referencing what hubs you need. So in order to find the correct hubs you will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are unable to find them, you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle where the bearings...

  • What Is The Max Wheel Size For a 7 Inch Diameter Hub/Drum
I do have an option for you but the largest wheel you can use with a 7" diameter hub/drum has a 12" diameter. The reason for this is that there is not enough surface area on the hub/drum to support that large of a wheel therefore I cannot recommend you use a 15" diameter wheel on a 7" diameter hub/drum. In order to use a 15" diameter wheel you have two options. You can either remove the brakes and use an idler hub like the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K or you can...

  • 5' x 10' Utility Trailer Axle Replace or Rebuild?
The main question is does the entire axle need to be replaced? Is the axle damaged? If it is not damaged it can be rebuilt with new bearings, hubs, seals, races, and even spindles. I would ask that you verify the hub face measurement off the picture below. Hub face (A) refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle. If you determine that your axle does need to be replaced and the hub face is the...

  • Should I Stay With 13" Wheels Or Upgrade To 14 Wheels?
I will start by sating that the wheels/tires on the trailer you are looking at do look kind of undersized. So you definitely can stay with a 13" set up like the Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10208 and Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 13" x 4-1/2" Rim - 4 on 4 # AM20242, which will give you 1,660 pounds of capacity (the wheel is rated lower than the tire in this case). In order to make sure you choose the right hub assembly you are still going to need to look at your bearings and identify them.
