I have ordered several times from E-trailer. All the products I have ordered, have always been great quality. Have always received orders fast and on time.
E-trailer will not disappoint.

by:

Fast shipping, packaged well, no damages, seems like a heavy duty spindle.

by:

This will work well on my application. Quality machined shaft. I have not used it yet

by:

Very good spindle for my kayak trailer. I needed something that would be easy to grease and these fit the bill perfectly- better than bearing buddies since the grease gets to the inner bearing.

  • Spindle Recommendation for Hub that Uses Inner and Outer Bearing L44649
Based on your hub having two of the L44649 bearings that would mean you need a BTR spindle like the part # TRU44FR. To replace a spindle, the old one would need to be cut off, and the new one welded into place. This is NOT a job for the do-it-yourselfer. The new spindle must be absolutely square with the axle in order to prevent premature tire wear and wheel tracking problems. I would recommend finding a welder who is experienced with trailer axles. • Availability of Straight Spindle with 2,000 lb Capacity
The BTR style of spindle like the part # TRU44FR has bearing surfaces that are both 1.06 inch in diameter. That's probably the closest we have to a straight spindle in the capacity of 2,200 lbs like you want. 1.00 inch for the threaded portion 1.06 for the inner bearing surface 1.06 for the outer bearing surface 1.50 for the seal inner diameter surface

  • How Do Trailer Spindles Typically Install on Trailer Axle
Removing a damaged spindle is the easy part - it can be cut off with a torch or saw. But welding on a new one is another matter and requires the new spindle be welded exactly straight. It is actually easier to replace the entire axle with a new one that has good spindles on both ends. This may even be less costly than having a new spindle welded on by a qualified welder. It will also ensure that both spindles will have the same working lifespan, which would not be the case if only one is...

  • Solution for Finding Hub to Fit Shorter Spindle with Outer Diameter of 1.06 inches
Sounds like you have BTR spindle but have the much shorter version which we don't have hubs for. Would time for a new spindle realistically like the part # TRU44FR. To replace a spindle, the old one would need to be cut off, and the new one welded into place. This is NOT a job for the do-it-yourselfer. • Is there Any Way to Determine the Trailer Bearing Measurements without Pulling the Hub
The short answer is that you cannot. You will need to pull the hub and get the numbers stamped into the bearings to find the correct replacements. It is possible that if you know the spindle part number and/or dimensions that you will be able to determine the seals that way. I also may be able to figure it out if I had the bolt pattern of the wheel, see link, and the axle capacity. The best way is to pull the hub. I have included a link to a video that might help. If you are going to replace...

  • Availability of Bearings, Seals, and Cap For 2002 Trailstar Trailer
The best way to determine the correct parts for your 2002 Trailstar trailer is to disassemble a hub on one side of the trailer and get the bearing part numbers that are stamped on the bearings. There is an inner and outer bearing. With these part numbers I will be able to determine the bearings, seals, and other parts you might need for your trailer. I looked up the Trailstar trailers and it looks like they use the EZ Lube hubs. The EZ Lube system will have a zerk fitting on the end of...

  • Which Grease Seal for Trailstar Boat Trailer
I don't have reference that lists which grease seal the hub on your trailer uses. In order to recommend the correct grease seal, I'll need some information from you. I'll need the inner bearing reference number and the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides. When you measure the spindle diameter, you'll need to use a highly accurate measuring tool like a digital caliper. Once I have that information, I'd be happy to recommend a grease seal for you.

  • Availability of Trailer Spindle With Bearing Surfaces that Measure 1-1/16 inch Diameter

  • Steel Type for Trailer Axle Spindle TRU44FR
I checked with Trudyde, and I was able to find out that the bar stock material used to make the spindle is hot rolled SAE 1045 steel, which allows the spindle to harden to an extent. The spindle needs to retain a slight amount of flex to retain its durability when a trailer goes over a bump or through a hole in the road.

  • Choosing Proper Set Angle for Replacement Dexter Torsion Axle.
To allow for full articulation so you don't have to worry about the tires bottoming out int he wheel wells, I'd recommend going with a 15° down torsion axle. If the original axle was a 0°, this would raise the trailer up a bit. A 'down' axle places the spindle centerline below the frame member, while a 0° would place it even with the frame.

  • How to Determine Replacement Hubs for a Trailer Based on Spindle Dimensions
If you cannot find the bearing number, we can still recommend the correct hub if you supply us with some precise measurements of the bearing and seal surface of your spindle. Check out the picture I attached that shows what portion of the spindle needs to be measured. The other dimensions on the picture I attached would also be helpful to know to determine what bearings and seals you have.

  • Should a Spindle That is Chipping be Replaced
Anytime that a spindle is starting to take damage you will want to replace it as that will affect the performance of your bearings and seal. In this case since that chipping is right where the seal sits (as you mentioned) that will eat at the rubber seal which will likely cause it to fail. A failed seal will leak grease and cause further damage to your spindle/hub area. From the picture you sent in it looks like you have a round BT8 spindle. For replacements we have parts # TRU94FR, #...

  • Recommendation for Failing EZ Lube Spindle and Vortex Hub
We do not carry the Vortex hubs made by Tie Down Engineering. Unfortunately because of this, I don't really know how to assist with troubleshooting the hubs themselves as they are designed to seal out moisture and debris, yet are obviously failing. The threaded cab should have an o-ring to prevent moisture entry and the seal should prevent it on the other side. The zerk fitting on your EZ lub spindles is a part of the spindle so to replace that would require changing the entire spindle....

  • What Size Axle Does a #84 Spindle Fit
A true 1 inch spindle is a BT8 spindle, like # TRU94FR. The next closest one would be the BTR spindle which is commonly referred to as a 1-1/16 inch spindle, like # TRU44FR and is more common than the BT8. Both of these are typically used with 2,000 lb axles. A #84 spindle, like # TRU24FR or # TRU47FR is bigger and is used for 3,500 lb axles. Common sizes for these are 2-3/8 inch round axle, 3 inch round axle, and 2 inch square axle. I have linked a helpful page that shows the different...

This will allow you to use the what is now standard length spindle dimensions.
