  The short answer is that you cannot. You will need to pull the hub and get the numbers stamped into the bearings to find the correct replacements. It is possible that if you know the spindle part number and/or dimensions that you will be able to determine the seals that way. I'll need the inner bearing reference number and the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides.   To allow for full articulation so you don't have to worry about the tires bottoming out int he wheel wells, I'd recommend going with a 15° down torsion axle. If the original axle was a 0°, this would raise the trailer up a bit. A 'down' axle places the spindle centerline below the frame member, while a 0° would place it even with the frame.

  Anytime that a spindle is starting to take damage you will want to replace it as that will affect the performance of your bearings and seal. In this case since that chipping is right where the seal sits (as you mentioned) that will eat at the rubber seal which will likely cause it to fail.   We do not carry the Vortex hubs made by Tie Down Engineering. Unfortunately because of this, I don't really know how to assist with troubleshooting the hubs themselves as they are designed to seal out moisture and debris, yet are obviously failing. The threaded cab should have an o-ring to prevent moisture entry and the seal should prevent it on the other side.
