Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Snap on fit for our glider trailer axle. The etrailer assembly was reasonably priced and is well designed and coated with excellent paint.

The Grease amount was generous and it was very well packaged for a clean job.
Job was done in 30 minutes for both hubs.

by:

Fit was exactly what was described. Converting no lug bin trailer tires to more robust setup.

i was very impressed with the quality of the product for the price. i will buy this product again when needed !

The Product is working great after 1 yaear. thank you

by:

Parts were fine but the bearings were not packed with grease. There was a big blob of grease in the hub but not packed into the bearings.

by:

Before and after photos.

by:

It looks like a quality product and the price was great. I installed this product immediately and upgraded from a four lug hub to five. It allowed me to upgrade my wheel and tire combo at the same time. Everything needed was included with the kit and was an exact fit. The only suggestion I have would be to improve the paint job as mine were flaking. I covered it with a coat of Rustoleum prior to install.

by:

Very happy with my purchase, arrived fast and hassle free.

by:

Upgraded the 4 lug hubs on my dad's 1973 boat trailer to these 5 lug hubs. Easy to install and topped them off with the marine grade stainless steel bearing buddy protectors - Model 1980A-SS w/ Auto Check - Stainless Steel (Pair).

by:

Perfect fit for upgrading my utility trailer's 2K axle to 5 lug wheels. Best value around!

by:

Very nice upgrade for a 2000 lb trailer. Pre-packed with grease and ready to install out of the box.

by:

I could not be happier with the parts I ordered and the short time required to receive them. If I ever need trailer parts again I will be back to etrailer.

by:

Excellent value. Saved me a ton of time vs repacking bearings and installing races and seal.

by:

hubs fit prefect, tires too, just what i needed for log splitter so i can tow it.

by:

good fit

by:

Excellent service with super fast shipping. I ordered them sunday evening and they were sent out later that night.

  • Upgrading Tire Size on a Harbor Freight Trailer
I do have a solution for you, but we do not recommend using vehicle tires on a trailer. Trailer tires are built with stronger sidewalls to help resist the load that is put on them, while vehicle tires are made for a more smooth ride. Also, we do not carry spacers that are intended to make your tire and wheel stick out so that it can clear your trailer frame. To find out if you can upgrade your tires and wheels with your current setup, you can take the outer diameter and section width of...

  • Which etrailer Trailer Hub with 5 on 4-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern Fits 1-1/16 inch Diameter Spindle
The big difference between those two part numbers is the spindle size they are designed to fit. The part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-2K that you referenced is the correct fit for your spindle since you have a 1-1/16 inch diameter spindle whereas the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K is the correct fit for spindles that are 1 inch in diameter.

  • Recommended Replacement Hub Assembly For 13" Trailer Wheels With A 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
The Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K you mentioned is actually only going to work with 10"-12". With that being said, I recommend going with the: -Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K instead. This is the same hub assembly as # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K but will work with your 13" trailer wheels as well.

  • Replacement Hubs for Malone MicroSport Trailer
The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G uses a # 34823 grease seal and # L44643 inner and outer bearings like what you can find in the # BK1-100. For a complete hub assembly with the same 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern you can use the # CE13210.

  • 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern Idler Hub Compatible with 15 Inch Rim and L44643 Inner and Outer Bearings
For a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern hub that's compatible with a spindle that uses the # L44643 as both the inner and outer bearing, I'd recommend the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K from Axle Tech. The hub is compatible with 13-15 inch rims, so it'll work just fine for you. Races, bearings, grease cap and lug nuts are included. The hub includes a # 34823 grease seal, which has a 1.249 inner diameter. To ensure this will work for you, use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to measure the diameter of...

  • Should I Stay With 13" Wheels Or Upgrade To 14 Wheels?
I will start by sating that the wheels/tires on the trailer you are looking at do look kind of undersized. So you definitely can stay with a 13" set up like the Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10208 and Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 13" x 4-1/2" Rim - 4 on 4 # AM20242, which will give you 1,660 pounds of capacity (the wheel is rated lower than the tire in this case). However, you need to have at least 3" of space from the top of the tire to the...

  • Replacement Bearing Kit For Idler Hub 5 On 4.5 With 1 Spindle and 1.24 Inner Diameter Grease Seal
The measurements that you gave tell me that you have a BT8 Spindle # TRU59FR. If you wish to replace your bearings, races and grease seal you will want the Bearing Kit # BK1-100. This includes 2 Bearings # L44643, 2 Races # L44610, a Grease Seal # 34823 and a Cotter Pin # 165649. To make things easier you can replace your entire hub. Depending on your wheel size you can choose either the Idler Hub # AKIHUB-545-2-1K that has the 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern you said you have with 10"-12"...

  • Trailer Idler Hub for 2,000 Pound Axle and 13 Inch Tires
There isn't enough surface area on hub # AKIHUB-545-2-1K to safely mount and use a 13 inch wheel. The hub would have to be larger to properly support a 13 inch wheel. For a hub that uses the same bearings, can take a 13 inch wheel, and also has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern we have # AKIHUB-545-2-LFEZ-1K for EZ Lube axles or # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K for regular axles.

  • How To Find Correct Replacement Wheels and Hubs for Triton XT10 Enclosed Snowmobile Trailer
I do likely have some options for this trailer but we don't have any way to look up what parts it uses therefore you need to provide some information, namely the axle capacity which should be stamped onto the tag in the center of the beam. It likely uses 2,000 lb axles and in which case you would be looking at either the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # CE13110 for 4 lug or part # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K for 5 lug. • Replacement Hub for Boat Trailer Using L44643 Bearings
Assuming you have a # L44643 inner and outer bearing, the correct bearing kit is the # BK1-100. The hub will depend on the bolt pattern you need. These hubs will come pre-greased and include the bearings, races, and grease seals. For a 4 on 4 I recommend the CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly w/ Carrying Case for 2,500-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # CE13110. For 5 on 4-1/2 I recommend the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 13" to 15" Wheels - 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K....

For the 2k spindle you can use the # AKIHUB-440-2-EZ-1K if you need a 4 on 4 bolt pattern or the # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K for a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.
