Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Customer service was outstanding ! Joanne will help get you what you need !
Definitely a great place to deal with.

by:

Install went well, product seems to be of good quality. Not enough miles to give any feedback of how long it lasts

by:

Arrived with a 1 1/4" grease seal instead of the correct 1 1/2". Sent me the correct grease seal, but not the tool necessary to change them out. I had to do the work myself in addition to 14.00 for the tool. Glad I did because the bearings were NOT packed with grease, just a blob on the outside. I thought I read they were made in US. They are not. Made in China.

First of all - the information on your web site made everything possible.
Second: I could have just as easily laid out the cash and had the local marine shop take care of it; however, since the trailer belonged to my daughter, I decided to make this a father/daughter repair. Although she is a practicing RN with very little mechanical proclivity, she is a quick study and together with your web site information, we accomplished the task in less than an hour.
Thank you etrailer.

Quality parts and a perfect fit

by:

Product looks solid. Went on as planned. Be aware that this does not include the washer that goes between the outer bearing and the spindle nut. I assumed it did. Product description is not clear that this isn't included. I assumed it was. I used the washer from the old hubs I was replacing so no problem.

by:

Other than the long phone wait, everything else was excellent. I was very happy they had my hard to find part at the going rate & with quick delivery.

by:

This is now, two different orders that I have placed with this Company. I am thoroughly impressed and grateful for their fast, efficient service, the wide range of products, and the speed at which they get your order shipped. Prices are great, too!

  • Replacement Hub Assembly for 2016 Triton LTWCI Series Trailer
According to Triton your trailer uses their 08353 axle with 11228 bearings which are the same as the # L44643. For a marine-grade replacement hub I recommend the # AKIHUB-545-2-G-1K. This comes with everything including the bearings and grease seal. If you want a pre-greased option then the # CE13215 is also available.

  • Replacement Hub for EZ Loader Trailer with Knott Axle
I do have some options for you but we can't really reference any of these numbers. The best way to determine the correct replacement hub/drum would be with the bearing number and you can either pull apart the hubs and looks for these numbers on the bearings or measure them. If the axle is rated under 3,500 lbs then odds are it uses L44643 bearings which measure 1" diameter. In which case you could use the CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # CE13215 which has a 5-lug design. I have...

  • Identifying Nut Used For Hub Installation On Boat Trailer With AutoFlex-Knott Axle
What you have there is a Knott axle with Knott hubs. The bearings in these hubs are sealed so you won't be able to grease your bearings. It is also secured with a one time use flange nut so if you remove it you will have to replace it with a new one to reinstall your hub assembly. If you need to replace the sealed bearings or removed that flange nut you will have to get the replacement parts from the manufacturer. If you want to replace the hubs with a traditional hub assembly you would...

  • Galvanized Hub With L44643 Bearings For 8 Inch Wheel
While there is a similar option for you, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-2-G-1K is only for 10" to 12" wheels. For an option that will work with 8" wheels, uses the same L44643 bearings, and is galvanized, what you need is the following: - CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly w/ Case for 2.5K Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized - Pre-Greased # CE13215 The # CE13215 says it is for 2,500 lb axles, but fits the exact same spindle as the...

  • How to Determine Which Axle You Have On a Small Trailer
Brian, you can check and see if your axle still has the tag on it. That would tell you what axle you have pretty easily and you won't have to remove anything. The other options would require you to remove your hubs and measure your spindle to see what bearings / seals fit on it which would also tell us what size axle you have.
