Replacing the Blackwater Waste Valve and Cable on a 2018 Heartland RV Bighorn Fifth Wheel

Question:

I have a 2018 Heartland Bighorn 3160EL Fifthwheel. I am replacing the Blackwater dump valve with a cable. Have not removed old valve because it is inside the underbody cover. Should I buy a Bristol or Valtera? Do you know the cable length I need for my Model?

If you're looking to replace your blackwater waste valve and cable, then I recommend going with an actuated cable valve.

For these, LaSalle Bristol offers two options while Valterra offers none. Which of the two Bristols you choose will depend on your current setup. The first, part # 34466N4BB72GM, has a 72" cable and a spigot to spigot connection. The second, part # 34466N4AB36GM, has a 36" cable and a spigot to hub connection. You will need to review your setup to find which connection type you have. Also, I was unable to find the specific cable length of your model, so you will need to measure that as well.

I've linked to video reviews of both of these for you to compare. Both of them use ABS Solvent Cement, part # 3447530889, to connect them.
