I put disc brakes on my 38 foot 5th wheel travel trailer due to the poor brake quality of the manufacturer. I now drive on the highway with much greater confidence for our safety. The stopping power of these brakes is incredible. The quality of the brakes are superior. I installed them myself finding the instructions accurate and easy to follow. There was a small part missing out of the brake line kit and the part was overnited to me by E Trailer. I have purchased many items from this company and have found the products to be of top quality and fairly priced. The customer service is outstanding. Thank you.

by:

Assembled easily. Made hooking up the plunging to my Kodiak calipers a breeze.

Breaks working great. Wish I had done it sooner. Feel much safer. Dont waste your time with the upgraded bolts. Continue to loosen. I changed mine to grade 5 fine thread with nyloc nuts.

by:

I upgraded the 32" 12,000 lbs rated trailer to Electric/Hydraulic as the electric brakes really were not doing very much to help slow the trailer down. The overall upgrade included new 7,000# axles as well as a hydraulic converter next to the winch in the front of the trailer. This kit was perfect as it came with all the hardware needed to do the get the brake line almost to the front of the trailer. i did have to extend it a hair but that made only for one quick trip to the autoparts store versus many more if I had to do it from scratch and it was only because I wanted the pump in a specific location

If I ever get another big trailer, it will be with this axlebrake combo. The brakes work so much better than the all electric units ever did

by:

I got great service and even some advise on something they could not cross over to their product line. With regard to the brake line kit, the east west lines were too short and the long line from the actuator to the first axle was barely long enough for my 23’ trailer.

When looking for a replacement brake line kit, you will want to measure from the port on the back of the actuator to the T-Fitting where the lines split off and go to the separate brakes, which is typically right at the axle. There will be a short flexible line included to go from the back of the actuator to the steel line however if you measure this way the excess steel line can then be coiled up and out of the way. It is better to have a little extra rather than not enough.

by:

Hard to believe its been a year already. The new hydraulic brake system works great. Took us across the mountains in N. Carolina all the way to Myrtle Beach and back with two horses in the trailer. Planning on going again this year. Love it and would deal with you all again.

by:

It's a good kit, but as it's universal I had to do some customizing to some of the lines.

With the amount of cutting and flaring of brake lines, I would have been better off going with scratch built brake lines.

by:

Great kit everything needed to install 4 wheel disk brake kit from the actuator to the calipers

by:

Is a good product , but by the recommended rubber hose for the beginning of the trailer so the line will fit perfectly otherwise it will be short.

by:

Kit had everything I needed to replumb the brake lines for my trailer.

by:

Everything ordered is in great shape and fits my trailer. Prices are better than anywhere else I've researched and i will definitely pass along to anyone i know needing trailer parts.

by:

  • Complete Disk Surge Brake Setup Recommendation for a Rogue Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
We have everything you need, just not in one kit. For a disk brake kit that will bolt up to your 4 bolt brake flanges and will slip over your 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the part # K2R35D for a dacromet finish. Or if your trailer will see salt water I would recommend the stainless steel kit part # K2R35S. You will need a quantity of two of these kits for both axles. For a brake line kit you will need the part # DM5425. And then for a surge brake actuator you would want...

  • Disc Brake Conversion for 5th Wheel Trailer with 8-Lug/12-Inch Hub/Drums and Tandem 6K Axles
Converting a 5th wheel trailer from electric drum brakes to electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes will require a couple of items: the disc brake kit of hub/rotors and calipers, a brake line kit, an electric-over-hydraulic actuator, a breakaway kit and a brake controller such as the excellent Prodigy P3 # 90195. The linked article covers each of these items and is a good starting point for planning your project. A link is provided that will show you all disc brake kits with the 8-on-6-1/2-inch...

  • Best Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator for Trailer Disc Brakes
We prefer the Hydrastar Actuator part # HBA16 as it is the most reliable and works the best. This would be the best option for your trailer. We have the least amount of issues with this actuator and it is the one our installers like the most so we recommend it the highest. For a tandem axle brake line kit that uses rigid lines except for the lines that attach to the assemblies you would want the part # DM5425. Or if you wanted a kit that has the lines, a breakaway kit, and the actuator...

  • Parts Needed To Add Surge-Type Actuator And Brake Lines To Tandem trailer With Disc Brakes
You are correct that there is only one fluid outlet on the coupler, part # T4750800 you referenced. This is the master cylinder on the coupler that sends fluid through the brake lines to the brakes. I have attached a photo of the coupler that shows the attach point for the brake line, and also a drawing that shows how the lines on a typical tandem axle trailer are run. For a tandem axle with 4 disc brakes I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit, part # DM5425. This kit includes...

If you want to convert your trailer's drum brakes to electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes you'll need to match up the weight capacity of the axles and brake kit and find one that uses the same brake flange, bearings and bolt pattern as your existing hubs in order to ensure that the new hub-and-rotor assemblies will fit your existing spindles and wheels. You may want to take a look at the linked article that covers the details of converting a trailer to disc brakes. We may not offer an all-inclusive...

Good news, the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR712E will work for your 2007 Keystone Montana 2980 RL. The caliper mounting bracket will fit your standard 5 bolt configuration which is used by 5.2K, 6K, and 7K axles. The bearing kit you will need for this brake kit is # BK3-200. Something to keep in mind is that if you previously didn't have hydraulic brakes you will need a brake actuator like # HBA16 and a brake line kit like # DM5425. We do have a HydraStar Kit # CAR-HBA16-2 that includes...

If your fifth wheel uses 3500 lb axles and the wheel bearings are L68149 inners and L44649 outers, the Titan Disc Brake Kit you referenced, part # T4843800 would be compatible. Your existing bearings should have the reference numbers stamped into the bearing cage. If you're not sure about the capacity of your axle, if you can provide the inner and outer bearing reference numbers, and the bolt pattern of your wheels I can determine the axle capacity. The Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # K71-651 is compatible with your axles. • Using Electric Over Hydraulic Trailer Brake Actuator on Airstream Trailer With Excella Vacuum Brakes
From what I've read online, in its day, the Airstream Excella vacuum braking system worked very well, but at this point, they're obsolete. Replacement parts are difficult to find and the parts that would need to install on the vehicle aren't readily available. I saw several references in the forums to folks who simply changed their brakes to an electric drum system, which would be your least expensive option. If you wish to go this route, I'd need to know your inner and outer bearing reference...
