• What is the Application Difference Between the Brake Line Kit # 9505 and # 9579-2
  I spoke with my contact at Dexter and he informed me that the Deluxe Hydraulic Line Kit # 9579-2 that you referenced is used for trailers with torsion axles. The Hydraulic Line Kit # 9505 that you referenced is designed for basically any other design axles. So if you have torsion axles you would want the # 9579-2 and if you basically have anything else you would want the # 9505.

But if you do add an axle then I recommend making it a true tandem set up for better ride quality and so the 2 axles can work together and not independently.   If you do have 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern wheels you would want to start with two sets of the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R526D. These will work on your 5 bolt mounting flange, have enough capacity as they are for 5,200 and 6,000 lb axles.
