After about 6 months it started rusting where it was chrome plated. I live in Arizona where it seldom rains or does anything else except sunshine. Dissapointed.

Originally Ordered 2 of the Pollak 11-402EPas I thought they would fit in the 910030-1 Female Connectors I ordered at the same time. Found out they didn't and had to order 2 of the 11-409P. They work just fine but now I am stuck with the others.

by:

Made of metal. I've used these before and they work very well.
Definitely hold up better that the plastic copies!

by:

The staff at etrailer.com had my order filled and at my doorstep in 3 days. Amazing service and one stop shopping for high quality parts. I added them to my favorites list.

Plugs for his 2 way radios. He has

  • Installing Trailer Wiring Harness for a 1998 Ford Windstar
The wiring harness for your 1998 Ford Windstar is a plug and play harness, part # C55346. It plugs into your tail light assemblies. I have also included a link to the instructions for installing it on your vehicle. The 4 pole round connector you were looking at, part # PK11409, can be used instead of the standard flat connectors. The part you were looking at was the trailer end connector. The vehicle end is part # PK11410. You would cut off the flat connector of the wiring harness mentioned...

  • Parts needed to Attach 4-Way Flat Trailer Wiring to a 4-Pin Round Harness on a 1995 Ford F-150
You have 3 options for connecting your trailer with a 4-Way flat connector to your F-150 with 4-Way Round connector. Probably the best way to go in the long run, would be to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 118316, to install a 4-Way Flat connector on your truck and eliminate the 4-Way round connector. I have included installation instructions for this harness for you to review. This will allow you to tow your trailer with a direct connection to...

  • 4-Way Round Chrome Car End Wiring Details
There is not an industry standard wiring diagram for the 4-Way Round Car End, part # PK11410. You will need to use a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, to check which pins have which functions on your trailer, and then attach the corresponding wires to their respective pins on the vehicle connector. If you are towing a vehicle behind a motor home the connections are usually as follows. The top left connection inside the vehicle end, with the cover raised, is the yellow left turn/brake connector,...

  • Industry Standard Wiring Configuration for the 4-way Round Trailer Connector
Most of the time the 4-Way connector is wired as follows. Looking at the front of the socket on the vehicle side with the cover raised the top left pole is the yellow, left turn/brake pole, the top right pole is the right turn/brake pole, the bottom left pole is the white ground pole, and the bottom right pole is the taillight pole. The trailer side, part # PK11409, will be a mirror image of the vehicle side. Unfortunately, there is not an industry standard wiring configuration for the...

  • What is the Wiring Color Code for a 4 Pole Flat
Below I have posted a link to the trailer wiring page that has a color code chart on it. Brown = taillights Yellow = left turn/brake Green = right turn/brake White = ground wire To confirm you have the correct connections you can use a circuit tester like the Quickee Tester, # 3808, and match the wiring from the vehicle with your 4 flat.

  • Maximum Wire Gauge/Size That Fits Pollak Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Pin Trailer Connector # PK11409
The Pollak Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Pin Trailer Connector # PK11409 will accept wire up to 12-gauge according to my technical contact at Pollak. This connector is rated for up to 24 volts at 20 amps current. I did pull a piece from inventory to measure the size of the receptacles for the wires. I used a precision digital caliper to measure the size of the holes. These measured 2.8mm in diameter.

  • 4-Way Flat to 4-Way Round Trailer Plug Wiring
It may seem odd to clarify, but we sometimes have customers describe things differently than we may. So if you are looking for the connector between a 4-way flat on your vehicle and the 4-way round connector a towed vehicle would plug into you simply would need the Custer Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Round to 4-Way Flat # ADP001. If you needed a longer connector you can use # Adapter 4 Round to 4 Flat # 47465. If you are looking for a long trailer wiring umbilical cord, you would...

  • Trailer Wiring Socket Recommendation for a 4-Pole Round Trailer Connector
For a 4-pole round trailer connector and socket, I would recommend looking at the Pollack Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Trailer Connector, # PK11409, and the Pollack Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Trailer Socket, # PK11410. The connector and socket have a chrome-plated finish for corrosion resistance. I have attached a photo showing the typical wiring set up for 4-pole round trailer connectors. This should help when you are wiring the connectors to your trailer and vehicle.

  • Female Side Of 4-Pin Round
We have the Pollak Heavy-Duty part # PK11404 which is considered the female plug that traditionally goes on the vehicle side but could be used on the trailer side. The trailer side male end is part # PK11409. Please let me know if this is not what you are talking about and I can help further.

  • How to Wire 4-Way Round Pin Trailer Wiring Connector PK11409
There is not an industry standard layout for wiring the 4-Way round pin connector, but there is a layout that is most accepted. If you you are looking at the front side of the 4-Way round trailer side plug, the top left prong would be used for right hand turn signal and brake function, the top right pin would be the left side turn signal and brake light function, while the bottom left would be used for the tail light function. The Pollak Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Pin Trailer Wiring Connector part # PK11409 is 13/16" diameter on the end where it would plug into the vehicle side connector. If I were you, I would order both this and the Pollak Heavy-Duty 4-Pole Round Pin Socket part # PK11410 to make sure I have an exact match as these two connectors are designed for one another. If the trailer side connector that you have works with the above which it should as they have the same 13/16" diameter then you can return...

I'm going to assume that you have a Blue Ox coiled electrical cord, like part # BX88254, which has a 7-way for your motorhome. To replace the connector on the front of the towed vehicle you can use part # PK11410, and for the connectors on the cord, # PK11409 for 4-way and # PK12706 for 7-way. • Recommended 4-Pole to 7-Pole Wiring on Vehicle
I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller, # ETBC7, to convert your 4-way round into a 7-way connector. This kit will allow you to splice in your current 4-way wiring and includes the wiring, mount, circuit breakers, and other hardware to run an electric brake controller for trailer brakes. To splice in, you will have to remove the 4-way flat from this connector and use butt connectors like # DW05745-10 to pair your current trailer connector wires. This...

  • Why Don't They Make Trailer-Side Trailer Wiring Connector Covers
Covers aren't available for the male side of the round 4-ways like the part # PK11409 because a cover would hold moisture in which would cause corrosion. The vehicle side of trailer connectors often will have covers, but this is due to the fact that the connector is on a vehicle that will get driven in rainy conditions and otherwise would pick up road grime when not in use. When a trailer side connector isn't in use it is because the trailer is parked therefore a cover wouldn't be needed.
