I installed this connector on my travel trailer. The original connector had become loose and would fall out if not retained by the tab on the bottom of the connector. After a year of usage The Pollack connector still snaps into place and fits tight. Good product.

Not sure if this one is defective or what but all of the blades are very loose. Haven’t wired up yet so I don’t know if it will work or not. Disappointed in product. Expected better from Pollak 12706. Have a Hopkins and all blades are tight.

Huh, that is odd. Luckily, this connector comes apart. You should be able to use the set screws and be able to tighten up the blades. For now, let me get you over to customer service.

Product so far has worked great for a pinched/cut OEM 7pin cord. It isnt weatherproof like an OEM connector to the cord-as well as the female end of the connector but then its just the connector so totally sealed is not the design for this. It works fine & currently has saved me from having to purchase a connector & wire cord as 1 piece & some shennagins with installing that set up.

It's a good plug and easy to wire with internal screw terminals. However, there's no real weatherproof seal to the cable or bundled wiring that you're inserting into the plug. It's going to get wet inside the plug, leading to possible short circuits unless you seal the cable entry well with RTV or dry it out regularly and/or take it apart once and a while to make sure there's no corrosion on the terminals. A lot of plugs are like this which is why the manufacturers use a molded plug/cable assembly for the trailer connector cable.

Using this product to replace inputs from a straight-4 hookup plus add'l wires from a supplemental light system for my truck. Works exactly as advertised; saves me a lot of hassle. Installer must have some rudimentary electrical-connection knowledge.
You must also know which of the seven contacts does what for your vehicle to install this correctly; should be in your car/truck's manual.
Four instead of 5 stars just because the entrance/exit hole for wires needs supplementation to make it water-tight.
Product is easily worth the money and functions exactly as one would expect.

I have this same plug (PK 12706) on the Boat Trailer and it works perfect, and never disconnects or shorts. Now I'm putting this same plug on the Snowmobile Trailer. I'll let you know if I have any problems. Anything to do with trailer issues I always contact eTrailer Company first.

This was a great deal. I was switching from and old style 6 pin. What I really like was the size of the wire clamps and screws. Because of this I was able to fit 10 gauge wires in the 12V +-locations for better/ faster battery charging in my camper while driving.

I was hoping that these connectors would be better than they are. They do work. I would consider them a two trip connector; the first trip from one state to another, the second trip watching the sold trailer being pulled off by the new owner.
Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
