Video Transcript for Hopkins 7-Way RV to 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter Review HM47365

Hey guys, Randy here at etrailer.com. Oftentimes we get questions about how can I get my seven pole in the back of my vehicle to work with my four-pole trailer Now here at etrailer, we have tons of different adapters available. This is just one we're going to look at today. Basically this is going to give us our connection point. So we can plug this right into the back of our truck, and just like any other seven-pole connector, you can see it's going to have that locking tab so our cover's going to come down. It's going to hold it in place.

I also like that we've got corrosion-resistant contacts in here rather than just being brass. We all know brass corrodes pretty readily. With that coating on there, we're not really going to have to worry about that as much. So we'll place that in.Be sure that cover comes down behind it and there you can see it's going to be a normal, working four-pole for it. So this is going to give us our ground wire.

It's going to give us our running lights. Going to give us our left turn and brake signal and our right turn and brake signal. This is going to be pretty ideal for trailers. Maybe you've got a cargo carrier you want to haul behind that's got lights on it or a lot of guys use lighted hitch covers. They want to have their hitch cover.

It's got a light in it and it needs power. Generally that's going to come from a four-pole.And something I like about this one, first of all, we've got pretty good length here. Oftentimes these are going to be solid so we'll be plugging our trailer directly into the back. I like this little bit of flexibility in it so we're not pulling directly down inaudible 00:01:33 if our trailer's not .. The trailer plug isn't directly in line with the back of our truck, we're not going to be pulling down on our truck's plug.

Overall really easy and handy to use. It's going to be a very standard trailer-type connector here. It does inaudible 00:01:53 a dust cover to come over. It's going to keep that protected from the elements. One thing I want you to keep in mind while using any kind of adapter or even plugging your trailer into the back of the vehicle, it's a really good idea to use dielectric grease. Just prevents moisture from getting in there, causing corrosion, causing dirt to get stuck in there, giving us issues down the road. So this can save you a lot of headache. As far as connecting and disconnecting, you can see we've got the two large tabs here. It's going to give us a good grip, allow us to pull it out. All in all, I think it's a really good trailer connector. In my particular vehicle, I've got a Trailblazer, and the seven-pole is tucked way up underneath the bumper. I leave this . I have this exact one and I leave it attached to my Trailblazer and that gives me a four-pole that just kind of hangs down. If you didn't want to leave it attached, it's easy to remove it. And the compact size, it's going to fit in just about any storage compartment you have, whether that's under the seat, a mat pocket in the glove box, just handy to have there on hand so when you do need to pull a four-pole trailer, we can convert that seven-pole over and we're going to be ready to go.Now all in all, from my experience, this is an excellent adapter and our customers also echo the same thing. It has lots of good, positive reviews. She's just going to be a really easy, simple way to get a working four-pole in the back of your vehicle. It's not going to require any modification to your vehicle's wiring and it's going to be safer, in the sense that, if we pull up to a four-pole trailer that we're borrowing and we've got a seven-pole on the back of our truck, let's say, if it's just a short distance, a lot of people will take that risk and not run lights on their trailer. It's just not safe. It's not safe to head down the road and not indicate to people which direction you're going to be turning or if you're stopping. So all in all, I think it's going to be a good, long-lasting product. It feels nice and solid. I think you'd be happy with it.

Works great. I use the connector regularly on my truck to haul my boat trailer.

by:

I am very pleased with my adapter.
Enables
me to connect to all of my trailers without having to add a plug to my truck or have to modify my factory wiring.
Just plug it in to my 7 pin connector and go.
E-Trailer folks are great people to deal with.

by:

I purchased a different truck with a different wiring set up. I was pleased to find out all I needed was an adapter rather than changing the whole wiring set up. I found it quickly on this site and shipping was fast. Seems to be good quality.

Quality product. After a year of heavy use still works like brand new.

by:

I ordered the wrong plug for my hitch, and this filled the bill, to convert from the 7-pin to the 4-pin for my boat trailer. This was a lot easier than returning the original plug, and e-trailer got the new adapter to me very quickly.

by:

Simple and straight forward I needed a 7 pin RV connector to a 4 pin for my flat trailer. This is a quality product and solved my needs, but it's not always about the product. In my case it was also about Customer service! No need for details other than a company with quality products and excellent customer service is all you can ask for.

by:

It worked perfectly and I was kind of leery about ordering it and it not being the correct connector. It's exactly like the picture. And it was cheaper than the stores here in Kansas!!

It works perfectly!! Still......

by:

Great product. Industrial strength. I rebuilt a boat trailer using their rollers, brackets winch and this electric connector. Four separate orders. All handled quickly and efficiently by e-trailer. All products are of excellent quality.

by:

All the products I purchased worked great. Had an hard time finding the vertical receiver until a friend inform me to go on etrailer.com. The Connector Adapter, Receiver, Coupler lock, Ball Mount all fit like a glove. Thank you etrailer. The problem it solve for me is not having to buy a truck. Had the trailer but not the accessories. Had my item in 3 days. You received 5 stars from me and again Thanks

by:

I started from scratch not knowing the correct part, for a wire harness, for a boat trailer connection to a Toyota 4 Runner. I searched many places looking for assistance without any luck. I then found etrailer. I contacted etrailer. Nicole-Nikki responded immediately. Nicole-Nikki was excellent in helping out with the correct part. I purchased a quality harness at a great price. Everything works. Thanks again Nicole and George for shipping out and the super service.

by:

I have been to suppliers who sell these items, but to no avail. My PU has indipendant sisnal lights and I pull trailers and a Jeep Wrangler with signal lights/brake lights the same. You people not only described what I needed but also had drawings of the female truck socket and the male HM47365 .No one else provided this info. A very fair price, speedy shipping and a very satisfied customer! You will hear from me again. Thank you. Robert M.

by:

Product was exactly what I needed and at a fair price. I'm happy with it. Now I can pull either my camper or utility trailer with the same vehicle thanks to the adaptor.

7-WAY RV TO 4-WAY FLAT CONNECTORGREAT ADAPTER. I JUST INSTALLED A NEW AXLE WITH ELEC BRAKES ON A TRAILER. THE LIGHTS ARE 4-WAY FLAT & I WANTED TO KEEP THAT WIRING. THE OLD 4-WAY WILL PLUG INTO THIS ADAPTER. THE 7-WAY COMES APART & I WILL TERMINATE THE NEW BRAKE WIRES THERE. THIS WILL LET ME HAVE 4 OR 7-WAY ON TRAILER & TRUCK.

by:

The wiring harness is exactly what I was needing to connect my old trailer to me newer pickup.
Thanks, Jim

by:

Works perfectly for connecting my kayak trailer to my Rv

by:

This connector fits very snugly into the 7-way socket and the 4-way plug also holds the wire harness quite firmly--no chance of it bouncing out. Very nice product and exceptional delivery time.
