Video Transcript for Lippert Components Trailer Jack LC179014 Review

Speaker 1: Today I'm going to take a look at the replacement fifth-wheel RV landing gear follow leg with the snap pin for Lippert Components RVs. This will replace your follow leg and snap pin on the Lippert Components power landing gear. It's designed to fit the standard power landing gear, supports your fifth-wheel to prevent unwanted movement. It's designed to connect right here to the lead jack and the landing gear set, with a connecting rod or a cross shaft, which we do sell separately. It does include the two zerk grease fittings, one right here, one right here for lubrication of the jack. This is constructed of a heavy-duty steel, has a nice black powder coat finish to it.

Part is made in the U.S.A.A few specs on this, the weight capacity. If it's a manual crank is going to be 4,000 pounds per leg. If it's a dual motor, it will be 4,000 pounds per leg. And if it's a single motor it'd be 2,500 pounds per leg. Overall height, which will be measured from the top to the very bottom of the inner tube right there, if we put a tape measure on that right here ...

Very top here you're going to see is right at 32 inches overall height. Total width on this going to be right at 2 1/2 inches wide. Now the outer tube, which is the black portion from here to the very bottom on the black tube, that's going to be right at 29 1/2 inches tall. And then the bracket stops or the weld stops right here on each side. This is where your jack will attach to the mounting brackets on your trailer. Outside the outside, which will be from here to down here.

You're going to be looking right at 17 1/2 inches, and inside the inside, 15 1/2 inches. So, each weld stop is about an inch wide. But that should do it for the review on the replaces fifth-wheel wheel RV landing gear follow Leg with the snap pin for the Lippert Components RVs.

Landing gear works great just like original equipment. It took about 7 hrs. to remove and install due to very tight working quarters and I am pretty handy with all the proper tools needed and some, so be patient, not as easy as the you tube video I saw.

Product is better than new, love the added grease fittings(zerks), this will provide a way to lubricate them for a much longer lasting.
I received the product sooner than expected from ETRAILER, however our local UPS could not deliver for a few days due to stormy conditions.

I installed the jack this morning and was back in operation sooner than expected.
Great product, great service and super customer service representative (John) to work with.
Thank you

Several teeth were broken off or worn down, on my following leg landing gear, on our 2005 Keystone Challeger 5th wheel camper. our local dealer wanted $500+ to remove it, and reinstall a new one. After some on-line searching, I found this etrailer.com website. After looking at reviews, I followed their recommendation, and ordered the LC179014 leg and gear. I put in the order late afternoon on Wednesday, and it was on my doorstep Friday afternoon!!! I took the old leg out. The new leg would not "seat" correctly, and I was concerned I had made a mistake purchasing it. After doing some investigation, I found a bead of weld - on my camper - was preventing the leg from locking in place. I ground it off with my angle grinder, and the new leg fit PERFECTLY!! This new replacement weighs about 4 pounds more and is heavier constructed than the original. Plus the fact, there are grease zerks on the new, so it can be properly lubricated - unlike the factory one! In summary, THANK YOU e-trailer.com for a fantastic part!! You saved me about $400. I will be using your website again!! Ron

by:

The Landing Gears have worked flawlessly for the last year. I have lubricated them once using Valvoline Multipurpose Grease #615.

After 1 year, it is holding strong!

by:

We ordered the landing gear follow leg for our fifth wheel trailer free shipping was a plus. The leg arrived a 2 days earlier than expected another plus. The leg fit perfectly after we discovered that the original leg had been bent and twisted slightly from the previous owners. We were able to make a few adjustments and we installed the new leg with no other problems. All in all the job took a little longer because of the damage we had to fix but went smoothly after that. Will use e-trailer again. Thank you Michelle for your assistance, God bless

by:

Ordered both legs, U-Tube said about and jour or so. Took 3.5 hours, but what a great learning experience. Goes quicker if your storage compartment is emptied before you start!

If anybody need to know how to install a landing gear leg on a Grand Junction, feel free to contact me.
The parts came in good, the customer service was good. I wish they would have let me know that they were waiting on the small bracket but when I asked about it they were very up front about it. SO I am very pleased with everything.
This is a very good internet company to deal with.

by:

Best investment for the camper we have gotten. It cools immediately and runs perfectly. Has different settings that allow the fan to run constantly which is great. I am a light sleeper and can't have the fan turn off and on. It's exactly what we needed & we haven't had any issues. No leaks, no down time.

by:

This was a great purchase to replace the existing front end camper jacks. Replacement was very simple and operation is very smooth.

I am the original owner of a 2010 Montana Mountaineer 5th wheel. I replaced both the lead and follow landing gear. I studied the different landing gear available, and chose to try the cheaper items. These less expensive ones LC179014 and LC179013 were exactly the same as the old ones. Installation went smoothly, and they fit perfectly.

  • Replacement Landing Gear Leg for a 2010 Keystone Fuzion 400
There may be model information under one of the caps at the top of one of the legs. If it is electric landing gear then usually the motor will have some information on it that can be used to identify the system that you have. If the outer most jack tubes are 29-1/2 inches tall then that is a common size and we do have several legs that length: Lead leg # LG-179013 Follow leg # LG-179014 Follow leg # LC179014 If you can find any information under a cap or on a motor then let me know what...

  • How is Overall Height Measured on Replacement 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Follow Leg LC179014
Overall height of a landing gear leg such as # LC179014 is measured with the jack legs fully retracted and does not include the additional length of an extended inner leg or drop leg. That is probably where the discrepancy is coming from.

  • Picking Out Replacement Landing Gear Follow Leg for 2011 Keystone Fuzion FZ322
It's most likely one of a few options but I would have to know more info. Can you get the brand of the landing gear and the length of the outer tube of the jack? If brand is Lippert, LCI, Venture, Stromberg and measures 29-1/2 inches you'd want the part # LC179014. If instead its the other common size of 33-1/2 inch you'd want the part # LG-177201.

I'd recommend the # LC333964 Universal Mount Powered Landing Gear Legs. The legs have a 6000 lb capacity, which is fine as the legs only need to lift the pin or hitch weight, not the entire weight of the trailer. The landing gear is manufactured by Lippert Components, who manufactures the majority of fifth wheel frames on the road, so you'll know it'll be strong and dependable.
