Parts to Equip 2007 Honda Pilot and 2004 Ford F-350 for Towing ATV Trailer
Question:
I have 2 vehicles that will pull an aluma 7710 atv trailer. I would like to know how what needed to set up both vehicles. The trailer has a round connector for lights, no brakes. I used the 04 F350 4x4 6.0l diesel to pull a travel trailer too. The other car 07 honda pilot ex 4x4. Is there a easy way to move between each vehicle with this trailer. I will be needing a hitch and ball for the Honda too. Thank you.

We can help you get your two vehicles, the 2007 Honda Pilot EX 4x4, and the 2004 Ford F-350 diesel, ready with the items needed for towing your Aluma ATV trailer. Your Aluma 7710 trailer itself weighs in at 565-lbs so with an ATV loaded your total tow load will be in the range of 1300 to 1500-lbs. Both vehicles have more than enough towing capacity. Let's go one at a time.
For the 2007 Honda Pilot EX 4x4 I recommend the 2-inch hitch # 75599. For wiring, since the trailer has no brakes (only lighting) you can use a 4-pole flat harness # 118336 which offers plug-in installation. If the trailer uses a round 4-pole connector like # PK11409 you can replace the flat connector on the vehicle wiring harness with a round 4-pole socket # PK11404. This and all other types of wiring configurations can be seen in the linked article on trailer wiring. If the trailer connector is another type please just let me know.
For the 2004 F-350 you can use 2-inch hitch # 75740 if the truck does not have one and has a standard or Step-type bumper. The truck probably has 7-way wiring so all you need is adapter # HM47043 that will allow connecting the trailer without modifications.
Both vehicles hitches will be at about the same height once installed, about 17-1/2-inches above ground. This makes it easy to use just one ball mount on either vehicle. Use the linked article that will show you how to measure to know the correct amount of drop needed to keep the hitched trailer's frame level with the ground. The use the linked ball mount page to choose the ball mount that keeps the trailer level. Or select an adjustable type like # C45900.
