The Duel cable with a black and white wires on the FJ Cruiser it takes about 14 ft to run through the frame on the driver side. I used a tape measure to fish the wire through the frame. The Prodigy P3 was easy to install and works very well

Great

by:

Does exactly what it is supposed to do...protect the wiring under overload. So far, no issues after one year of being in the harsh conditions under my Jeep's hood.

by:

Circuit breaker seems to be working as intended. Ni issues so far at 1 year+

by:

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch.
Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

by:

It's a circuit breaker!

We got
this wire our small teardrop for underway charging. I put it inline after the relay/solenoid, wired so we wouldn't exceed reasonable current flow in 10ga. wiring. I don't think it's ever tripped, except when I loaded it for testing.

Would use again.

I had a couple of corroded breakers on my 12 year old travel trailer that caused a lack of 12v power from the house battery to the 12v system components. The replacements solved the problem. I have purchased from etrailer before and I've always been completely satisfied with the products.

by:

The equipment arrived complete and in good shape. However the most impressive thing about this, and earlier orders with etrailer was the customer service. When they saw one of the items was delayed they reached out to offer an alternative. They also kept me well informed of progress and when it was shipped/delivered. The videos on their products including installation are also very detailed and helpful. Great place to do business with.

by:

Good fast transaction. Item was as adve rtised.

by:

Perfect connector for what I was looking for on my 2019 RAV4. I originally installed it with the L bracket, but later changed it to be flush in the bumper. Looks very clean. The prefab pigtail made install into the car very easy as well.

by:

Cheaply made. Product gets a 3 star. Shipping gets a zero star. Your warehouse picked a product that had the all important bracket broken off. It was not in the box so the extreme volume and lack of packers delayed my installation. Thank you for shipping correct item 2 weeks late. This is becoming a regular policy.

by:

This product. Is. A great one its going to be used to conect my brake controller to. My 99 Chevy Tahoe I. Got. Both the 20 amp and the. 30 amp . Hopfuly I. Won't need. the 40amp . thanks so much for a. Wonderful produce

by:

Works perfect on my travel trailer, in between my converter and my auxiliary battery. So cheap, that I bought 2 so as to have a spare...why not? Processing and shipping was super fast, I ordered on Wednesday afternoon and had it Saturday. It was awesome to see the video provided by eTrailer, as it helped convince me that this was the exact part I needed. I'll be shopping here again!

by:

I install them in line and one more time the tutorial video was the best tool in my tool box. even wen I got a HVAC back ground the video was my best tool. Thank you.

by:

I should have ordered the in-line breaker without mounting bracket......discovered it, but you were so fast the parts had been shipped..... I removed the bracket and installed it my Jeepster. It does the job.

by:

Exactly what I needed to add a brake controller to my RV. Thanks for the support.

by:

They had to send this to me extra because it was missing from the ETBC7L kit that I purchased. It was inconvenient that it was missing but customer service and getting the replacement was easy and expedient.

by:

Fast shipping and arrived on time. Breaker has plastic case not metal but should not affect its function. Bolted on in place of original and should work as original. Pleased with purchase.

by:

Everything was as advertised, and thank you Kaylyn R for your wonderful customer service. It took awhile to get everything installed, because of crazy events in the past year, but it all works great!

by:

I ordered this controller and additional parts from Laser. Before committing to buying, I asked him many questions. He answered them all in about a clear and concise way as possible while presenting a picture of how to install the device. It arrived today and I haven't started, but he also emphasized that I could call if I ran into any difficulties. I'll follow up when the job is complete. My experience in this context could not have been better.
Michael

I am very pleased with your products. The installation went very well and your video sure made it look easy. I have already told my friends about your products.

by:

very fast delivery, sales person was very helpful, easy installation, will do biss again, thank you e trailer.

by:

The right part, manufacturer, shipped and received as promised. etrailer reliable as usual. Thank you!

by:

great product used on 3 vehicles for brake control

by:

Etrailer is the bomb, great customer service and everything arrived on time, with no issues!

by:

Worked perfect just had to shorten studs so hood spring would clear them when closed.

You might consider relocating the breaker. If its close enough to the hood spring that you had to shorten the studs, theres a chance that on rough pavement the spring could still contact the studs, which could short out the circuit.

  • Does the Power Wire for a Brake Controller Need to Be Ran Directly to the Battery
To answer your first question, it is possible to splice the brake controller's 12 volt power wire into the 12 volt power wire you have attached to the vehicle's battery to charge the trailer's battery but this is certainly not recommend. If I were you, I would just run the 12 volt power wire from the brake controller directly to the battery with the recommended circuit breaker for that particular controller placed 6" for the positive terminal. The problem that you are going to run into...

  • Can The Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Adapter Power a Wheelchair Lift Motor?
According to the owners manual for your 2020 Honda Ridgeline your 7-way uses a 20 amp fuse for the charge line that would power the Hopkins Multi-Tow Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47675. Of the couple lifts that I checked the manufacturer requirements for power they both require a 30 amp fused circuit connected to the battery with a 10 gauge wire. • Brake Controller Install on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Factory Tow Package
I spoke with one of my contacts at Tekonsha, who tells me he is unaware of any vehicle-specific problems installing a controller on a 2008 Grand Cherokee. The only connection to the vehicle that could possibly affect the vehicle computer would be connecting the red wire on the controller to the wrong wire at the brake stoplight switch. The controller would be mounted under the dash to the right of the steering column, within easy reach of the driver. You can find the green wire that...

Yes, you can order new wire and splice it into the remaining wire. The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-3555 uses 10 gauge wire. You can use the 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) and the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05745-5 to splice in the wires. The jack should also have a 30-amp fuse on the red wire. • What Size Fuse or Circuit Breaker Should be Used for Brake Controller on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado
The reason you would not want to install a 30 amp fuse or circuit breaker in a 4 brake magnet application, when installing a Prodigy P2 brake controller, # 90885, is that the extra amperage required to break the circuit could cause an issue with the wiring on the trailer or vehicle because it would take longer for the circuit to spike to 30 amps. In applications with 6 to 8 brake magnets or more, more amperage is required to activate the brakes properly so the time for the amperage spike...

  • Brake Controller Needed to Actuate Electric Trailer Brakes
If your trailer brakes are wired into your brake light circuit on your tow vehicle as you describe, as soon as you apply the vehicle brakes, a full 12-volts will be immediately sent to the brakes which will typically lock them up unless they are incorrectly adjusted so that they merely apply a slight drag. The correct method to actuate your trailer brakes is to use a brake controller. Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, so you can use whichever controller you wish. Brake controllers...
