Question:
Hi i purchased the tekonsha p2. I have a 2016 dodge journey. Where do you hook the power wire from the brake controller to the car. The 2016 journey has no 12 volt source for braking under the dash.

To hardwire a Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885 in your 2016 Dodge Journey you will need to make the 12V input power connection (for the black wire) at the positive battery post, going through a circuit breaker like 20-amp # PK54520. This value circuit breaker will be fine for trailers having up to 4 brake assemblies but if your trailer has more than 4 braked wheels then instead use a higher-value breaker # 38630 which is rated for 30-amps.
The other wires from the P2 (red, white and blue) are for brake signal input, ground and controller output, respectively. You may care to refer to the linked article on brake controller installation.
