  • Can Different Circuit Breakers be Used if They Mount Differently Than Current Ones
Yes, the 20 amp Circuit Breaker # PK54220PL and the 50 amp Circuit Breaker # PK54250PL can be used in place of your current circuit breakers. Circuit breakers are universal and can be used for a variety of setups as long as they are installed with the appropriate value so the specific circuit doesn't overload.

  • 12V Switched Power Source for Radar Detector Installation in 2017 GMC Acadia
If one of the wires in your 2017 GMC Acadia's mirror wiring harness carries 12V power that you wish to tap into for powering a radar detector you can find this pretty easily using a basic probe-style circuit tester like # PTW2993 (please see linked video). All you need to do is find a wire that goes hot when you have the ignition key on, if you want the detector's power to be controlled by the key; or there may be a wire that is hot all the time. Either one could suffice to deliver operating...

Yes the copper stud of the part # PK54220PL goes to the battery side and the silver side runs to the accessory you are powering.

  • Wiring Needed To Attach a Charge Line On The Motorhome When Flat Towing a Vehicle
Since you are running 50' of wiring you will want to use 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot. Roadmaster has their Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75 which only comes with 30' of 12 gauge wire. You can build a similar kit with the wiring, Circuit Breaker # PK54220PL, two 10 gauge Deka Ring Terminals # DW05762-1 to connect to the circuit breaker, a 3/8" Ring Terminal # DW05741-1 for connecting to the battery and some Wire Loom # 7509-1 to protect the wire under...

  • Why Doesnt The Brake Output Pin Have Power On A Motorhome 7-Way
Unless you had a brake controller installed in your motorhome the Curt 7-Way to RV Socket LED Circuit Tester # C66NR would not pick up the brake signal from the 7-way. With no brake controller there's no power running to the brake output pin on the 7-way. The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR you're using has an internal inertia sensor that requires your motorhome and towed vehicle to be moving in order to activate. If you're wanting to test the system to make sure it activates then you'll just...

  • Recommended Brake Controller for a 2017 Porsche Macan
I do have a brake controller that will work well with your 2017 Porsche Macan but the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # TK94FR is not a confirmed fit. Instead, I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 as this is one of our most highly rated, well reviewed, and easy to use brake controllers. If you do not have the factory tow package on your Macan, then you will also need to install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer...

  • How to Install a Brake Controller on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited does not have the factory brake controller wiring harness. The only way to install a brake controller such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 (Great Choice) would be to hardwire the controller into your vehicles wiring harness. Though certainly not as easy as just plugging a harness in, hardwiring a brake controller is not too difficult of a task. I have attached an installation video of the controller installed on a 2012 Jeep...

  • Troubleshooting Lights on Haulmark Passport Enclosed Cargo Trailer
Your trailer's stop/turn/tail lights are powered by the lighting signal circuits from your tow vehicle while the dome light would be powered by the 7-way's auxiliary +12V circuit. Since both work, but not at the same time, odds are your issue is related to grounding. All powered circuits on the trailer ultimately share the same ground connection (to the vehicle battery) and it is possible that if the main trailer ground has now corroded it may no longer be able to support all circuits at...

When installing a brake controller such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 on your 1999 GMC Yukon you will want to run the power wire (black) from the brake controller to the battery not the fuse box. You will also want to use a 20 amp circuit breaker like part # PK54220PL in between the controller and battery. Place the circuit breaker 6" from the battery and run the remaining wire to the brake controller. You will also need both 4 and 7-way trailer connectors...

  • How to Hard Wire Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller
Trailer brake controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 use a 4-wire hook up. RED wire carries the brake light input signal and connects to the cold side of the brake light switch (the side that carries a signal only when you press the pedal). WHITE wire is ground and connects to the negative battery...
