Great

by:

Fast shipping and good quality parts for a fair price. Thank you.

by:

This circuit breaker for electric trailer brakes is working fine after a year's use. No complaints. Good reputable company to deal with.

by:

connectors and breakers to hook up my brake controller arrived in order, installed easily, and lasted 1 year so far...

by:

I purchased the 20 amp CB to go with the Prodigy RF brake controller. This is due to their warning and caution in the installation manual.

by:

Got two of these for rewiring my truck and trailer. These were the best priced I found-even cheaper than the non-auto versions available locally. The shipping was reasonable and delivery time was good.

I was very satisfied and will return for additional items as needed.

by:

Worked out perfectly.

by:

The product is exactly what I expected, I haven't installed it yet.

I will testify that this site is the real deal. Not only did they have the best price for what I wanted but it was delivered to my door at a lower cost than I could have purchased it for locally and it arrived in a timely fashion. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from this site again if the price is competative for what I'm looking for. I don't live close to any stores so it's most convienent to have it delivered rather than taking the time or expense to go get it. Their service and technical advice is excellant, that's an added bonus.

by:

I got exactly what I ordered. Just make sure, if you order the fuse box to get the fuses without brackets. A rotary grinder made quick work of the brackets and they fit perfect in the fuse box

by:

Another easy install and wiring would buy again for additional projects.

by:

Easy to install inline for the brake controller.

by:

I Haven't installed yet but the customer service with etrailer is great, they continued to help when I made an error on my order

by:

Simple, reliable, does what it should. A good value.

by:

The PK54520 circuit breaker appears to be a quality product and was simple to install. I hope I never need it to function.

The same product was 3x the price at the local trailer supply establishment.

Thanks
Rick

by:

Just what I needed. Thanks, John

by:

Does the job for good price just convenient to have all parts arrive before install and not chase for parts.

by:

product arrived in timely manner and as expected. Haven't used them yet, so no input on performance.

by:

I've used 2 of them and they work remarkably well. Good quality and quick delivery.

by:

In service 1 year. No issues.

by:

Parts was as it should be, worked fine when installed, fast delivery,

by:

Haven't installed it yet, looks good

by:

Quality built product, does exactly what it needs to.

by:

Works as expected.

by:

Great price

  • Wiring For Circuit Breaker When Installing Brake Controller
The copper side of a circuit breaker like part # 9510, is the side that attaches to the positive side of the battery. The silver side gets connected to the blue wire that goes to the brake controller. To answer your second question, a 20-amp automatic resetting circuit breaker would be part # PK54520. The two posts are labeled BAT and AUX

Yes, the copper side should be connected to the battery, the chrome side should be the output to the brake controller, trailer battery, etc.

  • Can 2 Circuit Breakers Share the Same 12 Volt Power Wire
The problem you may run into when trying to power 2 circuit breakers from the same hot lead is that if there is a back feed problem on one circuit breaker it can affect the other one and cause some problems. It would be best to use a separate hot lead for each circuit breaker.

Since your circuit breaker does not have different color terminals you will want to look closely on the Pollak 20 Amp Circuit Breaker, part # PK54520, and the Pollak 40 Amp Circuit Breaker, part # PK54540 for markings. The poles will be marked with BAT right next to the battery terminal and AUX right next to the auxiliary terminal. A circuit breaker should have one of the poles marked as a battery terminal.

  • Draw-Tite Brake Controller # 5504 Does Not Have Power After Switching Out Goosenecks on a 1999 Z71
First thing you need to do is trace back and make sure your Draw-Tite Controller # 5504 is properly and securely hooked up. Your issue sounds as if your black 12V POWER wire has come loose and is not pulling the voltage. I have attached the installation directions as well as the wiring diagram; however, I will briefly go through them. Start with your black wire; it needs to run from the brake controller to the 20A Auto-Reset Circuit Breaker, such as Pollak # PK54520. The red wire runs...

  • Troubleshooting the Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523 Installed on a John Deere Tractor
I would first check to make sure that you have your Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523 set at the highest setting before using your manual override. If you don't have it on the highest setting then that would be why it drops to the 5-1/2 - 6 volts. As for the 2-1/2 volts I would be sure that you have a solid ground that is securely connected to a clean, bare-metal surface. You also want to be sure that you have a 20 amp circuit breaker like part # PK54520 between your battery and the brake controller...

Have you tried bypassing the switch that you used and have you ensured that the switch is rated high enough when it comes to amps? That would be where I would start since the PL code means that there is a power interruption.

The red wire must tap into the cold side of your vehicle brakes. The blue wire will run to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. This value circuit breaker will be fine for trailers having up to 4 brake assemblies but if your trailer has more than 4 braked wheels then instead use a higher-value breaker # 38630 which is rated for 30-amps. Are you referring to the winch or the Mule not running? If it's the winch, you probably blew the 20A circuit breaker like part # PK54520. If its the Mule, I'd recommend reviewing how the winch was installed to check for a wiring problem. You'll also want to make sure that the battery is within a few years old and up to the extra strain caused by running a winch. If there's a wiring problem, you could have blown a main fuse or fusible link on the UTV.

It sounds like your Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller # 90885 may not be getting the 12V operating power from the Journey's battery. With a hardwired type of installation this input power is routed from the battery positive terminal through a circuit breaker and on to the controller's black power wire. I reached out to my contact at Ultra-Fab and there are a few things that could be causing the jack to stop when it is underload, and then working again after 30 seconds. The first thing is it is possible the motor is going bad and drawing more amps to raise and lower which is causing the circuit breaker to trip and reset.
