Can the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack Be Rewired if the Wires Got Cut

Question:

someone cut my wires that come out of the head of the jack, can i order the wire , i dont have any idea what the idiots can do with just that much wire. i still have about 6 to 8 inches left hanging out of the head, can i splice it with the rest of the wire, thanks

Yes, you can order new wire and splice it into the remaining wire. The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-3555 uses 10 gauge wire. You can use the 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) and the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05745-5 to splice in the wires.

The jack should also have a 30-amp fuse on the red wire. You will want to make sure that the fuse is still intact and replace it if not. We do not have a fuse holder that works with 10-gauge wire. But you could also use a circuit breaker like the 30 amp. In-Line Circuit Breaker # 38630 which automatically resets, instead of having to replace the fuse.
